tom: 11:00 and hudson police are searching for a pair of purse snatchers who stole from an 89-year-old woman this afternoon at a local wal-mart. good evening, new hampshire i' m , tom griffith. adam sexton joins us live from hudson tonight to explain what police say stands out about this criminal duo. adam: police tell us that the male suspect has probably done something like this before. to the point he is getting overconfident. they say when he walked into the walmart this afternoon, he took off his hat and looked up at the security camera as if to say ' catch me if you can' . hudson police say these two suspects targeted an 89-year-old woman at wal-mart monday afternoon. one got the woman' s attention while the other rifled through her purse. >> she was distracted by a male subject to help pick out some merchandise. while she was distracted a female counterpart reached into her shopping cart and grabbed her wallet out of her purse and made off with an undisclosed amount of money, and also some cards and some sentimental items as well. the store' s surveillance cameras adamthe store' s surveillance cameras: recorded these images. the man is described as possibly hispanic, in his 30' s with a medium build. the woman also believed to be hispanic and in her 30' s, but heavyset. they left the store together in this silver, 4-door hatchback. >> we think right now it could be part of a bigger gang or a group traveling extensively, definitely in the new england area now, and we' re really hoping that members of the public can recognize them from somewhere and help us figure out who they are. adam: lt. tad dionne says it' s clear the pair was experienced, almost non-chalant about what they were doing. he says the male suspect removed his hat while entering the store, a brash move the man clearly knew would reveal his face. but to bring him and his accomplice to justice, detectives may need your help. anyone with information is urged to contact hudson police at 886-6011. live in hudson, adam sexton, wmur news 9. tom: a man from derry is accused images. matthew rettig faces charges including attempted possession of child sexual abuse images, solicitation to manufacture child sexual abuse images, and indecent exposure or lewdness. police say his alleged victims range in age from 11 to 22-years-old. investigators believe he used the apps kik and snapchat in these crimes. u.s. marshals are looking for a man accused of selling the heroin that led to another person' s death. felix aguilar who goes by several other names was last confirmed living in southern rockingham county. he is facing charges in connection with the death of september of last year. police have already arrested and charged another man with selling a deadly dose of heroin in the same incident. this afternoon, a man from littleton pleaded guilty to providing fentanyl to a person who overdosed and died last 54-year-old michael millette will spend at least 7 and a half years in prison. millette sold fentanyl to his friend 28-year-old edward martin last november. law enforcement say millete' s guilty plea and sentencing will be a helpful tool. >> i think it' s a message statewide to get the message out there that if you' re going to deal drugs, and people die from it, we' re going to hold you accountable. tom: police say millette was a significant drug dealer in the littleton area. the centers for disease control and prevention has issued an advisory to health departments around the country regarding an increase in fentanyl-related overdoses. the new report shows a significant increase in the total number of fentanyl drug seizures nationwide over the last two years. 80% of those confiscated drugs came from just ten states. new hampshire is ninth on the list. massachusetts is second. officials in new hampshire say they' re already well aware of the dangers but they welcome the effort to raise awareness. advisory across the country today just recognizing the fact that fentanyl is becoming an important part of our heroin crisis, and we' re beginning to see more fentanyl in the streets and more overdoses of fentanyl. warning isn' t about pharmaceutical-grade fentanyl or the type that gets diverted from hospitals but rather the synthetic fentanyl produced by drug cartels. exeter police conducted their annual k-9 drug search at the high school this morning. police searched randomly-selected classrooms, all common areas and locker rooms. all backpacks were checked, but no individual students were searched. a police dog found marijuana in one backpack, and school administrators will handle discipline. months after tom brady' s suspension was overturned, the nfl has formally filed its appeal of that decision. in paperwork, they argued that a findings" when he lifted brady' s four-game suspension, which he was given after a nfl investigation found that he likely knew that footballs were underinflated in last season' s afc championship game. the appeal won' t be heard before february, so it won' t affect this season. manchester police say would-be robber got away with nothing after a woman working behind the counter of convenience store pulled a knife. dawn khawaja says she started hiding the knife behind the counter about three months ago. police say on saturday night, a man walked into the down the block convenience store holding a knife with a three inch blade. khawaja says she pulled her knife with a much longer blade and the man ran from the store. >> at first i was like, is he serious? did he just come in here trying to take my money? and i said no. so i got mad and just picked this up and showedd him and he ran out the door. tom: police say they don' t re pleased that in this case, nobody was hurt. a man from milford has pleaded guilty to robbing a bank in stratham. prosecutors say this surveillance picture helped them identify seamus murphy. he got away with cash from the citizen' s bank inside a shaw' s supermarket back in february. murphy will be sentenced in january and faces a maximum sentence of 20 years. derry town councilors gave an updated estimate tonight on the cost of the overturned budget cuts. earlier this month, residents voted to undo a number of cuts made to the town budget, including cuts to public safety. as a result of that vote, counselors added back into the week. under the original budget, taxes were set to go down by $1.21 per $1000 of assessed valuation per household. tonight, councilors said taxes per $1000 of assessed valuation. commitment 2016 now, and students at nashua community college got a first hand lesson on the new hampshire primary, -and good government today. former senator judd gregg and former supreme court justice david souter talked about the role of civic engagement in america. the discussion took on the issue of public discourse and a divided government. but, both men handed down deep concern about how little our education system is now doing to train young minds about how the 3 branches of government work. >> the public educational system but it doesn' t have any pressure that excuses the decline in civic education. civic education has been going on since the aftermath of the vietnam war. >> you can not have an effective government if yo don' t have an informed electorate. people must understand how this its a complex government that you can not learn without having studied it. tom: the two leaders were invited as part of the 100th anniversary of the new hampshire presidential primary. donald trump back in new hampshire today speaking this morning at the atkinson country club. the front runner didn' t hold back and the insults started , flying almost immediately. he criticized hillary clinton and his republican opponents, saying ben carson has a lack of energy and in his opinion, jeb bush' s campaign is falling apart. two presidential candidates set to visit the state later this week. democratic front runner hillary clinton arrives on wednesday and staves through thursday, making multiple stops. jeb bush visits the granite state on thursday for events in portsmouth and new ' spooky world presents nightmare new england' in litchfield and it hosted its first wedding for a special couple who usually scare guests. tonight, they welcomed wedding guests including our own jean mackin. jean: the groom arrived in tux and top hat, the bridesmaids wore black, the skeleton flower girl was a cute fright and the bride the bride wore white. >> it' s the girl's dream to wear the white dress and walk down the aisle with her dad, but my dad' s dressed up so that' s pretty cool. jean: on this cool october night under the hunter' s moon ghoulish guests attended the first wedding ever held at spooky world in litchfield. >> and haunt and howl at the moon together as long as you both shall live. jean: melissa and tom tied the knot in front of a haunted house. >> this is the best hitt, abc news, los angeles. tom: prosecutors say they believe the woman who drove her car into a crowd did so purposely. four people were killed at the parade on saturday. nearly 50 people were injured. today her family and friends insisted she wasn' t using rugs or alcohol and says they are looking for answers. >> i said the blood test would come back negative because i know that there is no way she was drunk or impaired. no drugs whatsoever. she just wasn' t that type of person. tom: investigators say they believe the accused person was under the influence. the woman' s father said his daughter seemed fine but suffered from mental illness. the state flag of mississippi no longer flies at ole miss. administrators at the university the flag this morning. the state flag has the confederate battle emblem in its students and faculty had called for the flag to come down, saying it was a divisive symbol. researchers from the world health organization say processed meats, like bacon and hot dogs, increase cancer risk. the who estimates that 34,000 cancer deaths each year can be attributed to diets that are high in processed meats. there were 8.2 million deaths caused by
