child with one arm over the fence and placed the child on the side of the fence where the river was closest. reporter: court records say jordan let go of the child and pulled out his cell phone, police say the officer ordered him to bring the girl back to the other side of the fence, and the child was unharmed. in court, jordan see he would never do anything to hurt his daughter. the girl was tonight outside of that store, in frankly with more. reporter: everything is back to normal tonight inside of this store here in franklin. but the store clerk describes a frightening situation last night, when he says that a man pulled a knife on him. take a look at this video surveillance, it shows a man robbed the shop express around 6:00. the suspect can be seen jumping over the counter, opening the cash drawer and leaving quickly. police say he stole about $600. police say he took off toward prospect street. the man behind the counter ran away after he says the suspect threatened to stab him if he inaudible (. >> that is not what usually happens here. it's very friendly atmosphere, everything is good. sometimes it happens. reporter: franklin police and concord regional crime line are investigating. if you recognize the suspect you are asked to give them a call. jennifer: police in nashua say a man pepper sprayed a pedestrian at a store in a road rage incident. anthony cardis is charged with second degree assault, the victim told police that he had been trying to cross the parking lot at macy's when curt is drove by. the two got into an argument and curtis intraid him in the eye with pepper spray, seriously injuring him. josh: plenty of reaction going to donald trump from both sides of the aisle tonight, this a day after calling for the u.s. to muslims. but two months before the new granite state poll shows that if you thought trump was going to fade, you might want to think again. seems at this point he can say just about anything. >> that -- is not going to happen any more. reporter: whether it's about imgrands,. >> they're bringing drugs, crime, they're rapist it. >> he was a warrior because he was captured. i like people that welcome back captured. i never attacked him on his look, and believe me there's plenty of subject matter right there. reporter: none of it seems to matter, because two months before the new hampshire primary trump is only getting stronger. >> trump has gone up from 26% to 32% since september and hasn't shown any signs of declining. reporter: right now trump is 18 points ahead of his closest competitor, marco rubio. 23 points ahead of chris christie, 24 in front of jeb bush. from there the pack only grows tight we are a big tumble in new hampshire by ben carson. before this happened. >> donald j. trump is call for a total and complete shutdown of muslims entering the united states. reporter: but despite the blow back on tuesday trump held his ground. do you believe this that we need allies within the muslim community to fight the war on terror? >> well, josh, we have a lot of bad things happening, you start off with two attacks on the world trade center. we have to get our arms around the problem, because we have a big problem. we don't want to have other world trade centers, and believe me that will be happening. reporter: the numbers show that one in four new hampshire republicans want no part of trump at all. in the highest favorability numbers go to someone else. >> that is rubio right now, 61% of republicans have a favorable opinion of him. only 23% have an unfavorable opinion. josh: it's worth noting that there are plenty of votes still in place as this poll indicates that 82% of republicans have yet to make up their minds on one candidate. but should trump continue on indicate a faceoff against democrat hillary clinton in the general election, and she calls had his proposal to ban muslims from entering the u.s. shameful and dangerous. >> this plays right into their hands and it's something that will give truliedy aid and comfort to isis and others who are looking to make this a so-called clash of civilizations. it isn't. it's a clash between civilization and barbarity. jennifer: also tonight, republican jeb bush is joining others hammering over trump's proposal to ban muslims from the u.s. heather hamel is live now with his comments. reporter: today bush talked about destroying isis, beefing up immigration laws and reforming social security among other things. he said the country needs a leader and says plans and policies need to be serious. this afternoon and that was followed by a forum in manchester where he spoke to a standing room only crowd at a law firm. afterward he took questions from the immediate yeah, all of it trump. fine violin. this is what he does, he's an expert at this, he's phenomenal at garnering attention. this should be, this campaign should be about the big ideas that we need to implement to fix the things that are broken in our country and to restore america's leadership in the world. reporter: jeb bush says a lot will change in the coming months and he does not believe trump will be the nominee. jennifer: on the democratic side, hillary clinton is campaigning in new hampshire tonight as well. right now preparations are under way in salem at the woodbury school. clinton will talk to voters at a town hall meeting and that is from now at 6:45. josh: a year after they loved one disappeared, -- jennifer: coming up next, the steps that health inspectors are now taking. mike: the dry weather has continued. we could see a couple showers in the forecast. announcer: a horrific terror attack in paris. then, a brutal act of terror here at home. it's time for a tested and proven leader who won't try to contain isis. jeb bush has a plan... to destroy them. and keep america safe. should not delay in leading a global coalition to take out isis with overwhelming force. announcer: tested and proven leadership matters. jeb bush. right to rise usa is responsible for the content of this message. for lynn's family, the big stress is paying four hundred dollars a month in medical and drug costs for aidan. for other families it's higher deductibles, premiums and co-pays that keep adding up. that's why we've got to crack down on price gouging, cap out-of-pocket costs, of less expensive generic drugs. because we've got to get health care costs under control for lynn's family and for yours. i'm hillary clinton and i approve this message. jennifer: hunters have helped close the case on a missing man from chesterfield. josh: ronald cheever went for a home. yesterday that a body found by hunters in a state park last week is cheever. cheever had dementia at the time he went missing. jennifer: health officials in boston are confirming it was the norovirus, not e-coli, that made as many as 80 boston college students sick. the school says the students all ate at the chipotle in brighton. a restaurant employee reported being sick last week. the location has been shut down while it's cleaned top to bomb. >> upon entry to the establishment the inspector did identify three violations that caused enough concerns in her mind that she felt it was prudent for us to close the establishment. jennifer: chipotle is saying it does not believe this sickness is related to the e-coli outbreak at some of its other restaurants, which has affected 52 people across nine states. josh: consistent weather here. temperatures have dropped, the consistency here is lack of snow. many might be wondering if we're going to see any in the near future, not with mild temperatures again soon. jennifer: this little one visiting santa for the very first time. love those pictures. it's called a rigged economy, most new wealth flows to the top 1%. it's a system held in place by corrupt politics where wall street banks and billionaires buy elections. my campaign is powered by over a million small contributions, people like you who want to fight back. the truth is you can't change a corrupt system by taking its money. i'm bernie sanders. i approve this message. josh: the spirit of giving continues, and wmur is hoping that you'll continue to help those in need. once again our annual spirit of giving food drive kicks off this friday. we will be collecting nonperishable food donations and that includes prepackaged donations at all hannaford, shaw's and wal-mart locations in the granite state. this goes through sunday. all the food that's collected will go to the new hampshire food bank. it's not hard to notice just how days. jennifer: it's been dark in now. in fact we're seeing the earliest sunsets of the entire year right now. josh judge is here to explain why this happens, just before the winter solstice arrives. josh: yes, as it comes through this week from the 3rd of this month through the next several days we are literally at rock bottom in terms of the but let's take a look now at when that starts to change. here's a look at the sunrise and sunset from today, right on through the next week or so. and it continues, you're looking at the sunset time of 4:11 sunset time, this is for concord, right through the 15th of this month, and then there's a change. you notice 4:12 and it start to get a little later, and that means that the end of the day will start to notice a little more time before sunset. but the morning keep going. why is this happening before the winter solstice? the answer is quite complicated. we'll give you the quick cliff notes version of it. the shape of around ss sun is closer to an oval than a perfect circle. it actually looks like this. and because of that, the speed of which the earth moves around the sun varies throughout the year. when we're closer to the sun, as 13.500 miles more each day than when it's farther away from the sun in orbit. the other thing to know hayes the earth is tilted about 23.5 degrees in relates to the orbital plane around the sun, that means it's not quite upright and that affects it as well. though those two things are major factors in why it's not an exact circle around the sun. mike: we saw the change out highs. time lapse in the lakes region, not a whole lot of that sunshine, although we did squeeze out a little bit. south of the lakes region and now clouds are beginning to partially clear. here's the reason why. a storm just hit your day moving to the east in the wake of that dry air, noses in for tonight, tomorrow and tomorrow evening, before another system back to the west could bring with it a couple widely scattered showers. mid to upper 50's, today right back to average, 30's to around 40 in many spots. we'll be very close to that if not a couple above during the day tomorrow. as for readings now, low to mid 30's from the great north woods through the heart of the white mountains. the merrimack valley over towards the coast mid to upper 30's again, very close to where we were for daytime highs tonight. overnight tonight not a big temperature fall, but right back to seasonably chilly levels as the clouds tend to move out for some partial clearing. good part of the country though as a whole featuring temperatures above the average, anywhere from the great lakes north and east, it's right at the norm, but everywhere else, all of the rockies, take a look at denver, at 55. all above average. and the temperature pattern like so just means more above normal temperatures for new england as well, starting thursday and lasting right into and through the upcoming weekend. next system on the map starved scattered showers that came, could come in early thursday. tomorrow clouds, partial sun, then more clouds build in during the day on thursday. and they actually move in later tomorrow night with a couple of showers that may fall with temperatures close to 32 degrees. so that means in many areas north and west of manchester there could be a touch of black ice, we'll have to watch that as we'll be right near freezing. but tomorrow we're well above that, anywhere from 40 to 45 statewide. on average lower 40's. and moving ahead to the day on thursday, despite clouds and the chance of a shower or two early, any breaks of sun will get us up near 50, if not at least mid to upper 40's from the great north woods all the way points south, and possibly right around 50 or above from manchester down through nashua and into southern new england. tonight seasonably chilly, could be valley fog late tonight as lower 20's in the sheltered valleys to mid 20's in manchester and right along the coastline. here's a look at the next seven days tomorrow, cloud, such partial sun, low 40's, right at the average and then we get into thursday and we jump above. and that above normal temperature pattern carries us right through early next week. maybe a couple of spot showers early thursday. an isolated shower on friday, maybe another one early sunday. best chance of any steadier rain looks to be sometime later monday into early on tuesday. but again at this point it looks more wet than white. come on in pop pop. happy birthday. i just had a heart attack... and now i have a choice. for her. for them. and him. a choice to take brilinta. a prescription for people who've been hospitalized for a heart attack. i take brilinta with a baby aspirin ...no more than 100 mg. as it affects how well it works. it's such an important thing to do to help protect against another heart attack. brilinta worked better than plavix. and even reduced the chances of dying from another one. don't stop taking brilinta without talking to doctor. since stopping it too soon increases your risk of clots in your stent, heart attack, stroke, and even death. brilinta may cause bruising or bleeding more easily or serious, sometimes fatal bleeding. don't take brilinta if you have bleeding, like stomach ulcers. a history of bleeding in the brain, or severe liver problems. tell your doctor about bleeding, any planned surgery and all medicines you take. i will take brilinta today. tomorrow. and every day for as long as my doctor tells me. don't miss a day of brilinta. jamie: the u.n.h. men's basketball team playing at hole tonight ready to take on the worcester state lancers in durham. let go live to the gym where the head coach joins us now. what do you get with the lancers tonight? >> well, jamie, i think it's all about us, we've got to get back on the winning track. we had a long trip to texas last week. we beat an abilen and took our lumps against smu on saturday. right now it's about getting back on the winning track and try to get a win tonight. jamie: you're playing a division three school, should be a win benefits of dipping down and playing d3? >> coaches never think it's going to be a win. i think what it is, jamie, it's hard for us to get home games. this is an opportunity for us to get a home game that we don't have to return on the road, so this is one of our two division three games this year. jamie: the record is 5-3, identical to last year and you had such a great run last year. do you feel like you're building the foundation for the same kind of success this year? >> i think so. i think what i really like about our team early this year is we're a better offensive team, we're scoring points. i'm a little bit concerned though right now that we're not where we've been defensively, giving up too many points, our high. i think we have to try to clean up the defensive end of the floor if we're going to have a chance in january, february, march. jamie: you have a matchup coming up with the dartmouth big green, so you want to be playing well before that one, the instate rivalry, right? tonight worcester state, then cole gait on sunday, we're in final exams after colgate. but we have a chance to win a few games and get better as a basketball team. jamie: all right, good luck tonight and thank you for joining us. it's a night off for the bruins and celtics. celtics beat new orleans last night and they host the bulls tomorrow night. bruins lost to nashville last night. they're looking at a tough game at the montreal canadiens tomorrow night. couple more high school seniors from new hampshire go in division one, both of them lacrosse players from the new hampton school. odin menke going with the dame dale fighting irish, good luck to both. we want to congratulate joe coffey, she's been named the gatorade player of the year in new hampshire and her older sister jen won the award last year. so the coffey family dominating the nets in new hampshire. we remind you to tune in for "new hampshire chronicle" that follows "world news." see you gabbing here again after" shark people are working harder than ever, but the everyday cost of perscriptions, child care, or even just buying groceries can be a stretch for too many families. hillary's plan: raise the minimum wage, get equal pay for women, cut taxes for the middle class, and new incentives for business to share profits with employees instead of just rewarding ceos. those at the top are doing just raise. i'm hillary clinton, and i
