Thats going to get warmer. Chief meteorologist mike haddad takes a look at a stretch that feels more like september. Mike thats right. Late september are in the upper 60s and thats where well sit for a couple days this week and possibly nudge a little above that for one day. Keep in mind the average 54. For the second day of november. We topped off at 64. Concord, manchester, one above that in nashua with the warm spot today. In the 50s to the north. Right now it seasonably cool. And these would be average for the 3 00 time frame, but of course the sun is now down early and temperatures are starting to cool a little bit. You notice a lot of warmth back to our west. 60s and 70s. And theyll continue to dominate our weather at least through the middle of and end of this week before changes come in here towards friday and the upcoming weekend. So well take a look at that timeline and do we stay dry all week or could we see a few showers. Much more on that straight ahead. Jennifer despite this warm start to the month, most ski resorts are still confident theyll hit their predicted opening dates. Andy hershberger reports that it wont take too much to get things up and running. Reporter the warm temperatures are keeping these snow guns at Loon Mountain silent for now. But that could change literally overnight. We hope to make snow as soon as temperatures get cold enough. This time of year as soon as that happens well start making snow. Typically we have to see temperatures in the upper 20s to make snow. And if we get really cold temperatures, the lower 20s or teens, we can open for business in two or three nights. Reporter it was on this date last year that loon started making snow and while they are not expected to fire up the guns in the next couple days they say they are still on schedule for a mid november opening. Ski New Hampshire represents 33 alpine and Cross Country ski resorts, they say cannon and sunapee have posted a november 27 opening date. Gun stock and pats peak the first week of december. Theyre just biding their time waiting for Mother Nature to get cold. Theres not much they can do when its 60 degrees. But the weather will change, and when it does theyll be ready to go. Its really not a concern. Reporter in the meantime there maintenance on the gone do las. And when the weather is right, loon, like several other mountains, will why the snow making equipment theyve invested millions in over the years. Technology is more efficient, so they can pump out more snow in less amount of time and also at slightly warmer temperatures than what they could have done 10 years ago. So the technology has a humid impact. Reporter and there will be plenty of time to go skiing since most places plan on staying open well into april. In lincoln, andy hershberger, wmur news 9. Jennifer up next, reports of fire ball police the sky, what what reports of fire balls in the sky what it could be linked to. I am who i am and i have to convince people thats okay. Who was upset that a raccoon was in her attic and she wanted to know what the hell i was going to do about it. So i sent her an email back josh bush says he will always listen, but he says he lost all of his senses the first time he saw his wife. I lost 30pound in two weeks, i couldnt eat. This girl just turned me upside down and changed my life, truly, meeting my wife, its been the single biggest driver of whatever success ive had in my life. Whats on your bucket list as something youd like to do . I want to be 80 when i jump out of a plane. Reporter one of the guests knows the bush family from her home of puerto rico. I remember your dads campaign and the jingle. spinning spanish josh but unlike those days this election is driven largely by personality. Does that answer the question . Theres a point where all this stuff is relevant and important. But i am who i am. And i got to convince people thats okay. Josh no matter what happens moving forward, at least he has gronk on his fantasy football team. Hes a beast. Josh josh mcelveen, wmur news 9. Tom tonight, an idea to get rid of that hall of candy for a good cause. Candy will be sent to operation gratitude to great care packages for our soldiers. Jennifer thats a great idea, ship it all off. Mike because if it sits there, its going down. Tom and dont be bringing it into the channel 9 newsroom either. Mike some of us dont need it. What some of us would like more of is the springfield here in november. There are s some that want it cooler. So where do the temperatures land as we go through the week . On average, hours each day, to earn the same paycheck as their male coworkers. Join the fight for sara and women everywhere. Im hillary clinton, tom the emails started coming in last night just after 5 00. Jennifer viewers wondering about a fire ball they saw streak across the sky. Heres meteorologist josh judge with what we were able to find out about this. Of all what a fire ball is and a fire ball is simply an extremely bright meteor. So well take that and tell you that there is a meteor shower under way right now. Its just beginning. Keep in mind meteors are produced when debris enters and burns up in the earths atmosphere, and the meteor shower thats beginning now, that contains larger fragments and debris than others so has the potential for bigger fire balls. It doesnt have as many shooting stars as a typical meteor, but ball potential. This is from the american meteor logical society, a map showing the cluster of the heaviest reports last night. 5 07p. M. Yesterday is when everybody said they saw that go past. Just a list of some of the towns, manchester had four reports, dover had two and several other communities all around New Hampshire and new england and beyond were reporting these. And by the way, the peak for these meteor showers is the fifth through the 12th, so theres more potential, theres clear skies tonight, mike. What about tonight . Mike we do have a chance, josh, no doubt about it with the clear skies out there. And i think well see fair skies a good part of this week with a few extra clouds across the North Country. Take a look at the time lapse from today out at the coast where we did have sunup to sundown a good amount of sunshine, a few scattered clouds and clearly the brighter skies were in central and southern New Hampshire. The most the the waive clouds farther to the north. Can you see right now a squeeze play is on here as we do have one system passing south of new england and another one scooting off to our north although these clouds are clipping the North Country with a few extra clouds in and around the great north woods. That may actually keep temperatures up a little bit overnight instead of crashing back into the 20s, well probably hold in the 30s in northern parts of the state by early morning. Right now with 40s from plymouth north and west down into the lakes region and through tupper valley, monadnock region as well. Then the 50s Still Holding on from concord points south and southeast. But its low 50s, and it will cool quickly into the 40s the the next couple hours. Overnight tonight with more clouds drifting in up north, it will cool back to the mid to upper 30s and rise towards morning, elsewhere upper 30s and lower 40s will do it. However, a good part of the country enjoying springlike conditions, temperatures well above average not only in the northeast but back through the northern and central part of the plains states where a few low 70s are showing up. And cant rowl out as the warmth peaks by friday that some of us get in on some of that warm weather. So heres a look at the timeline, we squeeze out a lot of sun to report a few clouds. Wednesday not much of a change, more in the waive sun and similar temperatures, running well above average again. Highs tomorrow around 60 up north, lower to mid 60s central and southern New Hampshire. For voting day tomorrow looks fairly nice, and weather will not get in the way. So in terms of those temperatures as you head to the polls, 7 00, 8 00 a. M. , mid 40s north, low it will start to cool a little bit near sundown. Clear to partly cloudy skies North Country. As for the day tomorrow weve got more sun than clouds. Lots of sun on wednesday, a little bit cooler wednesday and thursday at the coast due to an on shore breeze. But on friday winds should turn around to the southwest, and any partial sun will likely get our temperatures up around 70, in many parts of southern New Hampshire, could be a shower or two, but not a whole lot of rain, that front sweeps the warm air out to sea, so we cool down on friday night and early saturday. And looks like the classic november chill returns by sunday and monday. Tom jamie is in with sports. Jamie talking about the new york and manchester marathons yesterday, plus the world series the new york mets. Mornings. Wonderful, crazy mornings. We figure you probably dont have time to wait on hold. Thats why at xfinity were hard at work, building new apps like this one that lets you choose a time for us to call you. So instead of waiting on hold, well call you when things are just as wonderful. [phone rings] but a little less crazy. Were doing everything we can to give you the best experience possible. Because we should fit into your life. Jamie it was a world series 9th inning that mets fans wont soon forget although theyd like to. Manager Terry Collins opted to leave his starting pitcher in, mat harvey was adamant about wanting to stay in the game. Harvey allowed a walk and a double in that 9th and then with a mets closer finally in, eric hosmer hustles home on a ground ball to third base, tied the game up 22. A stunning turn of events considering the royals had no runs and only three hits through the first eight innings of the game. Five runs for the royals in the 12th inning, seals the win. Royals take game five, 72, they win the world series four games to one. Obviously i let my heart get in the way of my gut, and i love my players, and i trust them. So i said go get them out, and walk started it off, but if youre if going to let them face one guy when the double hit i said we have to get out of this with only one run and it didnt work. Obviously in any situation like that you obviously want to do everything you can to win the game. And i poured my heart out and gave it everything i had. Jamie tough loss for the mets. A big congratulations to the New Hampshire runners who completed the tcs new York City Marathon yesterday, 115 Granite Staters completed the 26. 2 miles on a warmer than wanted day the the big apple. Also run yesterday, the 9th annual Manchester CityHalf Marathon and relay race, a perfectly cool day for the runners, larry gagnon says the Event Accomplished their objective which is to deliver a money to local charities. Its a great New Hampshire race, but if you are a fan of this event you have to be concerned about diminishing participation. The number of par thon finishers went down from 433 last year to 200 this year. A 54 decline. The Half Marathon and relay participation has also been declining. 100 of the marathon finishers were from New Hampshire, which means more Granite Staters ran in new york than manchester.
