The rate of 16 and 17yearold drivers who died in crashes has increased in the first half of 2012. Traffic Safety Experts say its creeping up to what they call unacceptable levels. 240, 16 and 17yearolds were killed from january to june of last year. And thats up about 19 from 2011. The report identified no singer reason for the increase. Single reason for the increase. We heard Baltimore City schools are in horrible shape. Reporter they did. People turned out at that rally last night in annapolis in support of rebuilding Baltimore City schools. The rally was in support of a block grant bill. Aid 2. 4 billion dollar plan to renovate and rebuild city School Buildings including the creation of a new Construction Authority that would oversee planting, financing and construction of school projects. Supporters say the bill is needed because the currencies tem for Financing School renovation will not catch up to the needs of Baltimore CitySchool Buildings. Teachers, students and parents at the rally describe bad conditions at city schools including broken windows and hot classrooms and inadequate computer labs and they called upon lawmakers to provide resources to rebuild the oldest School Buildings. Their environment is to teach them about themselves and about why and how other people feel about them. The black grant legislation being proposed would allow us to take existing state funds and leverage those funds to affect wide scale renovations. Reporter well, yes, today the case of a salisbury Man Takes Center Stage at Supreme Court. Alonzo king was arrested in 2009 on assault charges. Police took his dna and the sample matched dna collected from the victim and police then linked him to a 2003 rape. The argument is whether this is an an invasion of privacy is it constitutional or whether the state says once arrested you lose the privacy right. At issue is the maryland dna collection act. This is is a law that allows official to take the dna from those arrested but not convicted of a serious crime. Kings lawyers moved to suppress the evidence of the dna match saying the initial draw violated the constitutional right. But the lower court later found him guilt every rape and cents scented him to life in pries sentenced him to life in prison. I expect they will uphold our collection and i expect it to be 590 decision. Reporter to be a 90 decision.
