Abc 2 news linda stow is here with the details. Linda, what is this report revealing about the coming decades . Reporter charley, it shows if drastic measures are not taken, it wont be long before the city goes bankrupt. Of the report shows the city will accumulate a 745 million budget deficit over the next decade because of a growing gap in how much the city earns and the amount it spends. That deficit would be even bigger at 2 billion if you factor in what the city needs for infrastructure repairs and Retiree Healthcare benefits. According to the report, if the city does not enact major reforms, it will go bankrupt. The 10year forecast was commissioned by the city from an outside firm in philadelphia. Mayor rawltings blake is expected to propose financial reforms next week based on that report. Linda stow, abc 2 news. Thousands of people are celebrating the ravens super bowl win, violence hit the streets of baltimore. Just two ploks from pratt street, police say a fight led to a triple stabbing and that a teenager is dead. This happened around 1 30 yesterday afternoon at the corner of howard and fayette. The teens were between the ages of 15 and 16 years old. One teen is in critical condition, the other is in serious condition. Abc 2 news has found a memorial page for one of the teens, that teen who was killed. Police have not released his name just yet, but the teens page has already received 35,000 likes and friends are calling. Late yesterday afternoon the jury asked to watch a videotape from the state showing showed earlier in the trial. The state says johnson killed barnes and put her body in a container and dumped that container in the susquehanna river. His lawyers insist that the state never proved a motive in this case. A man accused of shooting a Security Guard at the Family Research council in d. C. Is due back in court today. Lawyers will again discuss a plea deal in the case. The 28yearold originally pleaded fot guilty to the charges against him. The shooting happened last august and the guard who broke up that shooting survived the incident. 5 35 right now. The decision should be coming out soon. Thats why leaders got together in dallas this week. Today the executive board wraps up three days of meetings on whether to lift that ban on gay members. The proposal would allow individual scout troops to decide how they want to address the issue. The organizations current policy came under fire last year when an ohio den leader was dismissed for being lesbian. In 2000 the Supreme Court ruled the boy scouts have a constitutional right to withhold membership from people who are openly gay. Those who support the ban say the organization is about upholding timeless family values. Theyre entitled to continue that policy if they choose to, and if they dont, theyre going to lose the heart and soul of their membership.
