saturday night police say 6 people surrounded two hispanic men and robbed them on south clinton street. asia carter, raheem bay, and another have been charged on that. last saturday at north lynwood another hispanic man was shot and he died over the weekend. they are looking for a 13-year- old girl in connection with that case. >> it's more and scarier and people need, people are afraid more so than they have been in the past. >> police say several other hispanic people have been reported being robbed over the past several months. >> it's common for this population to carry large amounts of currency, they tonight speak english, they know they don't call the police so it's, from a criminal's perspective it looks like a good target. >> reporter: advocates say we will never know how many victims there have been because many hispanics fear they might be importanted if they call police. >> some of my friends, they have been robbed, but they didn't complain about it because we don't want to deal with it, we just want to keep a low profile. >> reporter: city police say they don't check immigration status if victims call to report crimes. over the weekend they distributed spanish language flyers telling residents just that. advocates for the hispanic community want that policy formalized in writing. so, tomorrow morning at 11:00, members of martin reyes' family are expected to crash in anne arundel county that we first told you about at 6:00. it happened at davidsonville road and ferrell street in crofton and the river county police tell the police the crash involves two vehicles, a car and a pickup truck. police say a 90-year-old woman and her 94-year-old husband were critically injured and we have learned tonight the woman has died from her injuries. the man is said to still be in critical but stable condition in a hospital in pg valley. two people in the pickup truck escaped serious injury. a new development today in the hotly contested race for baltimore's city states attorney. the bernstein campaign released the first of its ads on television. >> we lost five children and a parent because the state attorney's office mismanaged the program. we have the highest crime rate, the lowest conviction rate, and patricia justin just isn't getting the job done. >> the bernstein campaign says miss madden resigned her position as a witness protection coordinator shortly after the murder of the dawson family because they failed to do all it could to protect the dawson family. they have pledged to improve the witness protects program. patricia jesse a me's campaign with response for the bernstein ad and we have not received a call back this evening. weather wise, today, we were looking at a day of changing weather you could say. there is clouds city code and by laws that prohibit him from keeping poultry or foul there. he says he has no choice at this point and will get rid of his checkens by next monday's deadline rather than risk a fine of several hundred dollars. . well the final pieces of major credit card reform are now in place. there were some big changes to protect you from banks, if you go every 0 your limit, banks can now only charge you a fee equal to the amount that you went over. a $1 overage means a $1 fee. late fees will also go down to $25 in most cases and banks will have to crunch the numbers on interest rates every six months to make sure any rate hikes are adjusted fight. but all of these reforms are costing banks billions of dollars and experts say they'll recover some of those costs by raising over all interest rates and jacking up balance transfers and atm fees. well it is back to school time and some schools in anne arundel county got things rolling today. most of the county's 120 schools opened today and the rest will begin tomorrow. enrollment is up. more than 75,000 tuned will walk the halls this year. unlike last year there will be no furloughs this year and teachers will actually get raises. baltimore city schools won't out open for another week but they are promoting new personnel and a new attitude. both city college and polly will have new france this year and system wide city schools chief of staff says there will be an emphasis on attendance especially in middle and high schools. >> the central office is going to have a strong focus on attendance working with parents to make sure they understand every day matters and that we will be looking for their children in the classroom. edwards says parents will get cause and even visits in some cases as they try to engage parents to make sure their kids are getting to class. and a non-profit group in northern harford county is helping students be ready to learn. instead have the supplies like backpacks and pencils going directly to parents and students teachers go shopping for the classroom basics. at the check out no payment is needed and that is a major relief for teachers who have been forced sometimes to >> yeah. >> you would enjoy that. >> perfect weather. >> yeah, it won't last long, we're gonna bounce back -- >> of course. >> let's take a look outside. nice weather in the harbor, decent rain coming down south of the city but not seeing much right in baltimore it. a few drops pelting the window. 71 right now out at bwi, humidity at 84%, wind east at 13 miles per hour, and those winds will be turning more and more northeasterly through the day tomorrow. some beautiful images across the state today, take a look at our mount eerie today, clouding up late in the day, and turning ominous in quite the little swirl in the atmosphere there as we push toward a sunset. laurel, we go from blue skies and see those heavier stormier clouds come in, there were a few showers down this way, we take you over to northeast, north, nice postcard shots over the chesapeake as we push toward sunset but looking on the ominous side at times. maryland's most powerful radar, tracking some steady rains down here, moderate to heavy rain south of bowie and along route 50 here, is a rowen a park west toward odenton and laurel picking autopsy little bit of rain right now, this stuff really not moving in any significant way, new showers cropping up further south in anne arundel county but for the most part you see where the heaviest of this rain is. but it is relatively isolated to that area south of baltimore, clear on the eastern shore, north and west of the city, looking fine right now. so let's take a look at the temperatures today, we were in the mid-80s, fairly warm stuff, right now temperatures down around 70, 60 to the west, take a lookout toward deep creek lake, 57 degrees tonight out in the high country, definitely a chill in western maryland. a couple of showers have worked their way in, you see not much behind this particular line. this same weather system is going to keep spinning showers in our direction. a low centered offshore here, wrap around showers coming in, and that pattern is going to hold for about another 24 to 36 hours. cooler air keeps filtering out of the north and west. and that's gonna keep temperatures down tomorrow. again we start off on the 60s, barely get to 71, 72 degrees in the afternoon, you can see tomorrow clouds hold off pretty good. circulation right offshore and more chances for showers to spin in, even as late as early on wednesday that we think by wednesday night things will clear out. out in the open atlantic waters here our second named hurricane of the atlantic season, hurricane daniel, named this evening, actually updated from tropical storm to hurricane strength. cat 1, expected to go category 2 and become a major hurricane by tuesday eve thing, right now it looks like the track is going to keep it just offshore of the united states, but seeing some awfully big waves towards ocean city. we'll see. a couple showers through the day tomorrow, talking about 71, sun and clouds, showers kind of on and off through the day as they were this evening, tomorrow night still a few showers could linger, but not steady, just hit and miss showers. on 0 the cool side low 60s in the evening. we do bounce back, maybe a few showers early wednesday, sunshine comes back out. we're talking about a beautiful stretch of weather, thursday right in the weekend as we go towards the big game saturday night. looks like 80s and lots of sunshine. kelly. >> thanks wyatt. well a woman is speaking out tonight over what she calls discrimination because of her weight. after getting her nails done at a georgia salon michelle bonville realized he had been over charged by $5. the manager told fonzio the extra fee was because she was overweight and they needed to cover the cost of repairs in case she broke the chair which couldn't hold more than 20 pounds. >> $5, you think that is fair when we pay $24 and we have to pay for $2,500?
