carrying a heavy tote outside his house. brian kuebler is live now with more. >> reporter: it's been 6 days more than 30 witnesses, seconds tape and a witness saw the body of barnes on the defendant's bed. the state's case has now been laid out. it tried to tie up loose ends for the jury this afternoon. the state began the 6th and final day with the neighbor to michael johnson. he testified on december 28th, 2010, at sometime in the morning, he witnessed johnson struggling to move a big blue heavy plastic tote, up the common stairs in the apartment building, one stair at a time. he testified he asked johnson if he needed help because he seemed like he needed it. johnson said, no. told his neighbor, he was okay. it has been the theory johnson killed felecia barns in his apartment and transported the body in a blue tote. the state never did recover that specific storage bin, leaving the theory not exactly airtight. a lack of physical evidence, the defense team has been quick to point out all week. the only testimony that closes the hole is of james lee, who testified johnson admitted to forcing sex with felecia barns but choking her to death when she wouldn't stop crying afterwards. lee said on the stand wednesday he saw the body of felecia barnes in the apartment and told johnson how to dispose of it. to further legit mise lee's testimony, friday afternoon the state called the city police homicide defend who interviewed him. detective ray bennett testified lee quote never asked for anything in return for his testimony, and seemed credible as bennett checked out his story. johnson's defense countered that saying police didn't check lee's story thoroughly enough and there is no record on john's cell phone indicating he called lee on december 28th. now we know the entirety of the state's theory and the evidence it put on. what it doesn't have is any physical evidence, no dna and not that blue tote in question. the defense team, michael johnson's attorneys
