"20/20" anchor elizabeth vargas joins us. >> all three witnesses were experienced scuba divers. one was a doctor who spent 45 minutes to try to resuscitate her. he said he saw no evidence that gabe's story could be true. gabe watson listened intently, as dr. stanley stutz said he saw man in a black wet suit put his arms under tina watson's arms before she sunk to the ocean floor. >> i thought he was trying to save her. then they split apart. >> reporter: stutz said tina caught his eye right way. >> she was stressed. facing upwards. not in any way swimming. >> reporter: he said he couldn't be sure where the man put his hands when he went to tina. >> you don't know exactly what the second diver's hands were doing, did you? >> no. >> reporter: two other drivers on the watson's boat, married couple, also testified. ken cast doubt on gabe's version of events that it wasn't plausible that tina naknocked o her husband's mask. >> it was not a plausible story. belling were going off in my head. >> reporter: he said if she had panicked, she wouldn't have looked so serene. >> you can't be in a full-blown panic and then serenely start sinking with your hands outstretched looking at someone. >> reporter: but a very different portrait emerged when snyder's wife took the stand. one of man distraught over losing his bride. >> we were all crying. he was crying. >> did he appear to be in a trance? >> some what, yes. it was a horrible nightmare. no question. >> reporter: it was paula snider that stayed with gabe in australia that first day. she testified he seemed to be in shock. her testimony was so emotional, the judge called for a break in the courtroom. she and gabe watson were in tears. let's bring in "gma" legal analyst dan abrams now. key testimony from the eyewitnesses. some said what they say doesn't match up with what gabe watson is saying. >> that's important. do these jurors believe his account? a lot of it will be technical understanding, how scuba diving works, the tanks, the amount of air used. then you have an eyewitness like this one says, i saw her face there. and basically, suggesting, that -- the doctor is, that the story doesn't fit. that when he saw the person he believed to be gabe watson, going over, that there wasn't sort of this effort to help. he went over, the next thing he sees is her falling out of his hands. if you end up seeing a conviction in the case, you talk to the jurors, i bet that doctor's testimony is crucial. >> there was also testimony in his favor, too. >> on the other hand, they're saying there were strong currents. he did go over to her. what his defense says. and again, that's why this is a tough case. this is not a sort of open and shut case, even though this was this guilty plea to negligent manslaughter in australia. >> thanks, dan. we turn to major consumer warning about electric toothbrushes and how they could come apart in your mouth while you're brushing. >> reporter: they're a popular part of oral hygiene across america. >> removes up to 70% more plaque. >> reporter: they may also remove some of your teeth. the fda warns that the spin brush can be hazardous. parts of the toothbrush broke off during use and were released into the mouth with great speed. chipped or broken teeth. the kids spinbrushes don't have removable heads. the reports of batteries leaving burns and bristles coming off the brush and sticking to children's tonsils. extended usage, loose parts, or excessive wear could lead to brush head breakage. >> up and down and round and round. >> reporter: the warning might lead some to go back to the good, old fashioned way of brushing. for "good morning america," reena ninan. time for the weather. the potential snow in the northeast?
