Police said the male and female officers were on patrol in a Public Housing complex when they were confronted by an armed man who shot them. Police say one officer was hit in the face, the other in the abdomen. Both officers have only been with the nypd for two years. The suspect reportedly fled the scene and later shot and killed himself. He was a man people trusted, a Foster Parent and youth leader a volunteer in the schools.
