Jennifer the city cam throughout most of the morning had a good amount of sunshine with fog mixed in. The last 20 months would seem to shower downtown and thunderstorms to the west. The line lifting through downtown is mainly just a brief line of showers. Embedded thunderstorms are for western counties at this point along interstate 74. Downpours lifting off to the north. We will continue with this line moving north over the next couple of hours. We will also develop some additional isolated thunderstorms as a possibility as we head to the next 2 00 with regardless afternoon into Northern Kentucky and sliding or ohio. Rain showers from blue ash to batavia, activity across the nothing severe right now on the radar, not anticipating strong were severe storms out of this. Thunder this afternoon. We do have extra clouds around most of the day today. The chance of thunderstorms and maybe some strong ones in the late tuesday forecast is still a concern. We talk about that coming up. Last year, the Ohio Republican party changed how delegates are awarded to a winner takes all process. And that means as Republican Voters make their choice, they need to focus on the first box for the president ial primary. That s what some of the confusion has been coming from. No doubt, it is a bit confusing. The republican president ial primary ballot shows two boxes. One for delegates atlarge and one for district delegates. So what gives . Election Officials Say they are still required by law to have both contests on the ballot. But the one that matters is the one marked atlarge or the first one. And if you re wondering, you can still mark a choice for the district delegates box, the second box, but we re told it won t have an impact on the results. I asked a few people about the ballots, and they were confused too. Paul hillebrand it s kind of confusing, but i think if you vote for the same candidate in both sets of delegates then you come out as a winner. Megan schaefer i would ve looked at it and been confused, gone back and forth between where do i actually put who i want to vote for. Dan Election Officials say there s no impact on the democratic ballot there s just one box. Again, the first box on the republican ballot is the one Election Officials. Today he s already held an event in youngstown with senator rob portman. And later today former president ial candidate, mitt romney will go on the campaign trail with kasich, in north canton and westerville. That s according to the kasic h campaign. But this is not meant to be an endorsement. Romney s visit is as part of his escalating efforts to prevent donald trump from clinching the republican nomination. Donald trump is not backing down. He has a rally planned for youngstown, around 6 00 tonight. He spent the weekend in ohio, including a stop in west chester on sunday. There was some tension in the air, with protests organized before his visit. Boots preston he knows how to deal with people and we have not had a president in a long time who knows how to deal. Iris lecates he build walls between people that should be allowed to come here. He can t kick people out based on the color of their skin. Lisa there were a few clashes between supporters and protestors, many yelling at one another. Trump supporters also set off their car alarms, to drown out the protesters, who were kept in a taped off area. They took questions from voters, that included terina allen. She is the sister of sam dubose, who was shot and killed by a uc Police Officer. Allen asked senator sanders, about police accountability. Bernie sanders any Police Officer, must be held accountable, period. Hillary clinton we have systemic racism that is really at work inside the criminal justice system. Police say Trazone Mahaffey was found shot to death at a gas station on burnet avenue just before 6 00 last night. The 21yearsold was inside of a car, parked at a gas pump. Police say he was shot several times and died at the scene. No arrests have been made. A Death Investigation is underway in adams county. A body was discovered in the 1000 block of roush hill road. Investigators say the body is that of a white man in his 40 s. It has no obvious signs of trauma or foul play. The road is currently shut down as officials investigate. One man has died from injuries sustained in a car accident last month. Officials say 56yearold Kenneth Howard crossed the center line on hopple street and hit a oncoming car in english woods. Police believe the west end man may have been impaired at the time. The driver of the other car was also injured. Part of a building came crashing down. It happened at ludlow and middleton. Police say part of the roof gave way sunday afternoon and everything under it collapsed. We spoke with a couple who was sitting on their front porch at the time. They say they heard creaking and saw sawdust fall before the sudden collapse. Chuck perry i basically just to happen. And i got up and said, lori, we gotta get out of here. Ok. Nbc blake this morning authorities , are trying to figure out what caused an amtrak train carrying 128 passengers and 14 crew to derail overnight in kansas. Amtrak s southwest chief was headed from los angeles to chicago when five of the train s nine cars derailed about 20 miles west of dodge city, leaving them twisted and toppled on the tracks. Attention north ems and rescue, we have a train derailed. It s going to be approximately 3 1 2 miles west of cimarron. Blake more than two dozen passengers were taken to nearby hospitals, all with non lifethreatening injuries. Amtrak released a statement overnight saying in part all other passengers were transported to the 4h Recreation Center in cimarron, kan. , and will be provided alternate transportation to their final destination. Lisa investigators are working accident. A Police Officer in maryland has been gunned down, in what officials are calling an unwarranted attack. Officials say Prince George s county Police Officer jacai colson was killed, when two suspects opened fire outside the Police Department s landover station. Police say one of the suspects was also injured in the exchange of gunfire, and is listed in stable condition. The second suspect was later arrested after running away from the scene. Angela d. Lisa a man at the center of an attack on two iditarod dog sled teams in alaska over the weekend is set to appear in court. Arnold demoski says he was returning home from a night of drinking, when he struck the teams. Injuring one of her dogs. A crash with a second team left a dog dead and injured two others. Demoski says the incident wasn t intentional. I just had so much adrenaline that it may have seemed like i was driving erratically. Severe storms ripped across the southeast over the weekend, with strong winds, heavy rains, hail, and some funnel clouds in during the Severe Weather sunday, including this one outside star city, about 70 miles south of little rock. The twister didn t cause a whole lot of damage, but there were reports of downed trees. In other parts of the state, storms damaged several docks at a resort, and caused some road closures as crews worked to assess the damage and repair downed power lines. Millions remain under threat of flashfloods across four states in the south. After days of relentless rain, there is widespread flooding across the gulf region, and at least six people have died because of storms. In Northern Kentucky, a brief shower. Extreme eastern counties have been dried. There s the line that came through earlier. We are watching, especially down the squadron of the storm section, that could initiate a couple storms as we head into the afternoon. This initial wave rules through, then we see Additional Development in the next couple of hours. There is some heavy rain embedded with this from Franklin County through san uniontown in currently. Along interstate 74 north west hamilton county, expect that rain to pick up the northwest Butler County in the next 20 minutes. Just showers at this point from mason down the loveland, they are lifting down to the north. Most of the 275 loop is clear from this initial wave, but will see a couple of additional on futurecast, one or two isolated downpours or storms a possibility as you had asked 2 00 and 35 this afternoon. Even into the evening hours, a stray shower, temperatures today in the 60 s. Any storms the fire up this afternoon, not expected to be strong. We are included in a marginal risk, for extreme eastern counties you may see some lightning mixed in with gusty wind up to 30 or 40 miles an hour. That should be the extent of it. He is wanted for two counts of burglary, and five counts of felony tampering with coins. Lewis is 48yearsold, 5 9 and weighs 160 pounds.
