courtis: good evening everyone and thanks for joining us. i' m courtis fuller. we' re leading the way with team coverage after today' s snowfall. right now tammy mutasa and natalie clark are live on city preparations and current road conditions. but we begin with chief meteorologist kevin robinson with how much snow we saw. kevin? good evening most areas picked up a solid two inches of snow. kevin: it moved in and moved out just as quickly here. here' s a look at radar tonight. you can see the snow push its way into the appellations tonight. things are looking much quieter here. there is a little bit more snow across indiana and illinois. we are going to dodge the bulk of that. here' s a look at the radar. notice across the area things are very quiet. we are pretty much done with the bulk of the snow for the overnight tonight. as we head into your monday morning, here' s a look at city can. overnight tonight, some areas apache, freezing drizzle. i do not think that be a big have heard he gotten a couple of inches of snow. travel will be tricky especially area. snow-covered through the remainder of the night. check our temperature out at the radar. however, it is going to change in the forecast overnight tonight, through the week we will see when i return in the full forecast, the winds have turned around from the south and east. that is a warmer direction. that will bring in some milder air, i expect her temperatures to climb overnight tonight. i will let you know when we will break freezing, and who has the best chance of seeing a little bit more snow as we had the day on monday. courtis: thanks a lot. he fought -- the fast falling snow is quickly piled up. crews had quite a challenge to prevent dangerous conditions into the night. tammy mutasa joins us now in the cut in the hill in covington. how people on both sides of the river prepare for the snow. reporter: it is definitely been very challenging for snow fighters to keep up with the falling snow. earlier today, it was quite terrible. right now things are looking smooth sailing. there is a snow plow going right by us as you can see. the roads are looking good now. >> it was awful. it is winter, mud of nature. -- mother nature. >> it was picked to routes, but -- put your tires in them and head that way. snow fighters kept plowing, but the snow kept fighting back . >> the motto is to stick with reporter: it took an hour and half for talauna buelle to get from florence to the horseshoe casino in cincinnati. we saw some cars still stranded on 75 after the back up. >> you got about 5 miles an hour, you started to slide. reporter: in northern kentucky 130 trucks have been pushing plows in 11 counties. in cincinnati-crews started pre-treating roads last week. >> we have to make sure that we stay out there and we stick with it and try to keep up as much as possible but you won' t start to see the fruits of our labor until it eventually stops snowing. reporter: it will be a long night for truckers crossing the midwest. >> eh, the roads are bad but it' s just that people don' t know how to drive them like we do, but i' ve seen cars slide off the road. reporter: on this snowy night the cold has taluana wishing she was inside warming things up on valentines day. >> i' m thinking of going home and having margarita with an umbrella and sitting in front of a fire place with it. reporter: that sounds pretty good right now. -- now that there is a break in the weather they are asking people not to park on the street so they can do the job tonight. reporting live tammy mutasa wlwt news 5. courtis: to our west interstate 74 has reopened in decatur county, indiana after a pileup crash. pedro sanchez shot this video of the crash. state police shut down westbound traffic at the 132 mile marker this afternoon. they say at least one crash involved injuries. about 40 cars are said to to have been involved in the wreck. but everything is cleaned up and moving again tonight. it' s still stop and go, in so -- in some spots. check out, what it looked like for drivers out in colerain township at the height of the storms. some areas have seen improvement, since the sun has gone down. this is a live look at the brent spence bridge, traffic is moving, but there' s still concern, for slick spots s natalie clark has been out in these conditions since the early evening. she joings us now, using our live drive 5 natalie, where are you know, and are the road conditions improving? police shot and killed barry after he threatened officers with a knife and that same machete. a suspect has now been arrested for a cincinnati homicide. 23-year-old donta williams is now charged in the death of derrick johnson. johnson was found saturday morning in his wrecked car. police had originally thought they were responding to a car crash, when they discovered johnson had been shot. a police officer, forced to fire his weapon during a traffic pursuit in mount lookout. the suspect just before 2:00 this morning but the driver kept going. that driver then crashed into a parked car on linwood avenue and took off on foot. the officer fired one shot but did not hit the suspect. police did arrest the person, but have not released the suspect' s name. meanwhile, a man is behind bars after leading police on a car chase this time in columbia township. police say they tried to stop dionte dorsey because the car he was driving had fake license plates. he too crashed, and was arrested after a foot chase. he' s now facing a number of charges including failure to comply. a passenger in the car, was released. our live drive 5 van continues to make its way through the area tonight. store. they' ve raised about a tenth of their quarter million dollar goal. another successful year for the autism rocks fundraiser what started as a small event with just 30 people seven years ago has now grown to an event of more than a thousand. today' s fundraiser included a silent auction as well as live music and plenty of celebrity appearances. this year they raised more than $22,000 beating
