i think we easily make it into the lower 80s by about lunchtime. highs today, topping out at 85 degrees. but here is the thing, given the amount of sunshine that we are expecting, throughout the day ton of boats out there over the course of this past weekend, and we are looking for winds generally from the south at about 5 knots so really and stirring up waves, less than two feet. and look at those water temperatures, and still in the mid-70s. so a long story short, your labor day looks fantastic and you perhaps want to sit back and relax and enjoy, and maybe do a cookout and mostly sunny and warm. and temperatures today, in the mid-80s, and we are tracking 90- degree heat as we head toward the middle half of this workweek. and tracking a chance for and break down the timing for you, straight ahead. john? >> all right, michael, thank you. new overnight, part of west 6th in cleveland's warehouse district was shut down. before 2:00 a.m., police made a routine traffic involving a pick-up truck and the driver got out of the truck and ran from the area and left the truck in the middle of the street. at the same time people were leaving the bar and several officers were called in to help clear out the large crowd. the road was shut down between it is back open this morning. and also new overnight, an elderly man was rescued from an apartment fire, on cleveland's east side. overnight. the fire started on the second floor of the building. and that is located on kinsman near east 130th. and officials on the scene say the man was taken to the hospital in serious condition. and we will tell you to update the story, right here on channel 3, and at wkyc.com. a suspect is dead, after a s.w.a.t. incident last night, in hour standoff, at the ridge meadow condos on east idlewood drive. and one victim was taken to the hospital. after being shot outside. and the suspect barricaded himself inside one of the condos. police evacuated nearby residents, to the city's senior center, during the incident, but when it was all done, they safely returned home, and no word on the condition of the victim, or the identity of the suspect. we will keep you updated on this, at wkyc.com. hillary clinton and donald trump are both expected to be they are out there, looking for your support. and we have new information on this, this morning, let's go to alyssa raymond right now, live this morning with what the candidates have planned. >> reporter: good morning, we are at luke easter park in cleveland this morning, and behind me, you can see the stage is set. american flags are in place. and vendors are already getting ready for this event. this is where a meet and greet hillary clinton and tim kaine will both be there, later this afternoon. and we also learned just in the last hour, that donald trump and mike pence will also be in cleveland. the latest quinnipiac poll of ohio voters showed that clint-a modest lead over -- clint-a modest lead over trump. both candidates keep making appearances here in the battle ground state. tand is the 45th annual, 11th the parade starts a little earlier, around 10:00. meanwhile, like we said, trump will also be making a few stops in ohio today. and our sister station, wfmj, first told us that he would be making an appearance in youngstown at some point today. the trump campaign didn't confirm that visit yet. but we are told there have been some preparations made, and security sweeps have already been done, at the fairgrounds. back out here live, we have been talking to some of the vendors this morning, they are and the stage, media preparations, they are under way, to cover the event, behind us. and remember, all of these stops are coming exactly three weeks before the first presidential debate. for the driver who hit and killed a woman leaving her high school reunion. the crash happened early sunday morning. at the intersection of lee road, and clover side avenue, on cleveland's east side. driving a stolen 2005 chrysler, and was going well above the 25 mile-an-hour speed limit when he hit shirley duncan-barnes from maple heights. the 45-year-old woman was leaving a class reunion party from jane adams business career center when the crash happened. the second trial of a massillon woman accused of killing her husband has once again ended with a hung jury. jurors can't decide if colleen mckernan acted in shot her husband on new years eve in 2014. they were arguing. she is charged with murder. but there are options here. a third trial, or a dismissal of the murder charge for a plea agreement to manslaughter. when the sun sets tonight, it will be the last time ever for summer swimming, sliding and splashing at wildwater kingdom. that is because the park is closing for good. we got the news last month. announced a water park expansion in 2017. the land is expected to be sold for development. aurora's mayor tells us the lot may eventually include retail, commercial, an residential development. -- and residential development. and 6:07. time for the morning news feed. police in florida say they arrested a man who made threats about carrying out an attack like the one that happened at an orlando nightclub. fbi officials say 50-year-old craig youngworth was pulled over by the florida hiwa that is when they found out he had a warrant for his arrest. the fbi says they received tips from law enforcement and others, concerned about a post on his facebook page. specifically about an attack against the lgbt community on labor day. he is set to appear in federal court tomorrow. a vehicle was hit by an amtrak train in south carolina late last night. it happened as the train was heading from florida, to washington, d.c. passengers say they smelled gas. the train had pushed the vehicle a couple hundred yards up the tracks. no word on the extent of injuries suffered by the driver of the car, but amtrak says no one on the train was hurt. a trip to the fair sent several people to the hospital in memphis. officials say a computer operating the moonraker detected a malfunction. stopping the ride. and that is when the ride operator panicked and released the safety restraints before the ride had stopped. eight people were taken to the hospital until an inspector can come and check out the ride. pope francis bestowed the honor of sainthood on mother teresa yesterday in a ceremony at the vatican. 120,000 people attended the ceremony of the nun known as the saint of gutters who died 19 years ago. after the masker the pope followed in her footsteps and meander over not only wisconsin, but the mitten state of michigan, and then officially into northeast ohio, wednesday evening into thursday. so scattered showers and thunderstorms on the way by that point. and walking you through your morning, though, sunny side up, it is a great-looking morning to get out and about. to open up the windows, to get outside. and get some errands done, and just to grab a good book, and sit back and relax. that is what labor day is all about. and just take it it easy. and tonight, looking great if you have to head out and do some dinner plans and maybe firing up this labor day. >> good morning. >> reporter: good morning, john. cleveland is the spot this morning. and all of labor day. that's because we have learned this morning that donald trump and mike pence will be in cleveland today. and not sure where they will be exactly. but we do know where hillary clinton and tim kaine will be. and they are going to be here, later this afternoon, at luke easter park. of a meet and greet right after the 45th annual 11th congressional district parade. the parade is starting earlier than usual, right around 10:00, so she can be at the rally by 2:00 this afternoon. the political cun dits say the visit is -- pundits say the visit is in an effort to court black voters. clinton will then head to illinois after the stop in cleveland. and then we said that trump will be in ohio today. we first saw station wfmj, we out in he would be in youngstown -- we thought he would be in youngstown but the director of aviation said he was scheduled to flight into that airport sometime today. no word what time. and the trump campaign has not confirmed that visit, either. his next scheduled visit on his web site is tomorrow, in virginia beach. and back out here airport was temporarily evacuated. it started when l.a.x. police pulled over a driver in a stolen car outside the terminal and then asked travelers to move inside during the commotion. some travelers went past the security area, without being screened. and the te as a pre-- terminal was evacuated as a precaution. bomb-sniffing dogs were brought in and as many as 2,000 travelers had to be screened again. this caused 18 flights to be delayed. people on cape cod are waiting to see what the remnants of hurricane hermine bring to the new england coast and many packed the beaches for one last day before leaving and preparing for the storm. tropical storm force warnings were put in place as the the overnight hours. wind gusts up to 40 miles an hour with more than two inches of rain expected to fall. passengers on cruise ships this weekend are already feeling hermine's wrath. with rocky waters and strong winds, cruise lines are taking extra preeing caution, traveling back -- precautions, traveling back from a trip to the bahamas, the carnival pride crew brought the ship to baltimore several hours early yesterday. some retailers are already thinking about christmas. the toy industry could see the biggest gain in decades. and walmart is banking on a couple of favorites. star wars and barbie are expected to top the list. star wars electronic r2d2 is expected to be one of the hottest sellers. last year, toy sales were up almost 7% because of star wars and the numbers are expected to be better this year and the retail rers excited about that. 6:37 almost. and let's check in that attached cold front, and this will move on in, more so on wednesday evening. and into the thursday. so-so thursday, friday, saturday, of the upcoming soggy but looks very warm. we will talk about the numbers in a second. i think around lunchtime, in the upper 70s and lower 80s. with daytime highs in the mid yais, and again, we are soaking in that sunshine. and then as we head through the evening tonight, and dinner plans on the back patio, they look great. first thing tomorrow morning. a decent start to your tuesday. and tuesday afternoon, we bring in just a few more passing clouds.
