learned more about the man accused of leading police on a chase through ohio, kentucky and indiana. the driver, anthony knight faced a judge this morning and bond was set at $750,000. his attorney says knight has a clean record but the prosecutor in dayton. deputies say knight was behind the wheel during that 55-mile chase. knight and two others were arrested when the chase ended at the skyline in harrison. >> the two other suspects, chuck foley are in the montgomery county jail tonight. family members tell us they have committed violent crimes. they are charged in a brutal assault on his step-father greg mcintosh. he says he was hurt too badly and he had to have surgery on his eye. mcintosh says the family is just glad the two are locked up. >> i didn't even know they was in the chase. we get on the internet, maybe once or twice a week to see if they got caught and they were on the internet selling drugs and stuff and showing it and stuff like they really don't care. >> bond for both has been set at $100,000. >> covington police investigate after a homeowner shoots two intruders. the person who called told police people broke into the home on warren street last night. recovering. police have not identified the person who fired the shots. no charges have been filed. the investigation continues. >> a father and son face prison time for selling stolen goods at a local flea market. a jury in warren county convicted them and investigators started working on the case when area kroger stores reported a spike in thefts of beauty products and household products such as everyone. council wants the administration to identify the city's most dangerous roads and intersections and for those on foot and bicycles. and after those places are identified, council wants options for improving safety in the city of cincinnati. you've heard the old saying crime doesn't pay, but a couple of communities may change that in an of the to fight crime. the washington, d.c. council approved a measure that would pay residents a stipend not to break the law. the city would identify up to 200 people who are considered at risk for committing crimes and they would take part in behavior therapy and other programs to avoid crime. if they complete the program and stay out of trouble, they would be paid. >> it's weird and it's dumb. >> might not necessarily be a good idea, but if there were other part of a program that maybe it might be worth it. >> the program is based on one in richmond, california, and the d.c. mayor has not committed to funding the program. >> a against cancer, along the way. >> it's all because she refused to give up her tough training and competition for chemo. >> medical reporter liz bonis shows us how she got it done, liz. >> one of my local 12 twitter followers made a point of letting me know that there was a whom who she was kicking cancer to the sidelines and staying strong all while undergoing treatment for this. she wasn't sure until now if she could survive it. >> it's been just a year since stacey crawford began this journey to stay strong. >> i was diagnosed with stage stage stage 4 rectal cancer. >> chemotherapy followed that diagnosis and so did several surgeries. >> removing a portion of my liver and a portion of my colon. had surgery december 15th on my lung and removed the upper left lobe of my lung. >> stacey however barely missed a beat or in this case sometimes a barbell as she continued as a cross fit instructor, the team here found that tough workout got put in perspective. >> it doesn't really mean much when you're going through it when what someone else is dealing with is so much big year she says the idea of giving up cross fit for something bigger such as chemo or cancer never crossed her fit mind. if you're diagnosed with cancer, you can't go crawl in bed and pull the cover up over your head. you have to pray about it. your normal activity going. >> the line for normal, however, she says has shifted. >> has it changed your life a >> it did. it did. i would say probably for the better. >> they have sort of an interesting saying here when many of the home do these workouts and finish and maybe feel a little tired. as you can see it involves a lot of strength and what they say might also inspire you. >> it's kind of a joke around here. it's like, oh, but do you have cancer? after a workout it's like, oh, i'm so tired, it's like, oh, do you have cancer? or excuse me, did you just go through a chemo treatment? no, you didn't. you can do it if she just did it. >> the real inspiration the class learned this year. >> you never know how strong you are until you have to be strong. always showing up. >> now stacy has a really important doctors appointment tomorrow she's playing for a clean bill of health and a regular scan for the follow up in the next couple of months. we're going to continue to share her journey and bring you the latest as she continues to have success. >> she says she'll continue to share the journey with us as well, and be back at cross fit as soon as the appointments are over. >> a local woman hits the court to turn her life around and she has gone from prison to playing college basketball. the miami university lady thunder hawks are having a great season and amber tori is a part of that. she joined the team last month but the coach had actually seen her play for several years. she played on a team in prison. she was sent to the dayton correctional institute after getting in trouble as a teenager. two years ago miami prison town points. >> when i first got to prison i six years, i said, so i'm either going to just sit here and waste more time or i'm going to just make myself a better person. >> amber was admitted to miami university middletown as a freshman sports administration major. she knows the opportunity is the chance of lifetime and wants others to know it can happen for them too. >> from local 12, the weather
