first a quick check of the forecast. meteorologist brandon orr is here. he has your no wait weather. >> hey brandon. >> had we had temperatures in the 60s and we had 60 yesterday. that's not going to be the case. we have rain moving in on precision doppler 12 h.d. this is the light rain. it's blue on the radar. within the 275 loop it's on the western side. it's just starting to move into downtown. also getting some light rain over the past couple hours ever since 3:00 o'clock we started getting light rain. being but as this rain falls it tends to cool us down and that means snow could mix in. the best chance for flakes is north and east of downtown. if you're in willing him on the towards hillsboro -- wilmington that's your best chance to see flakes. this is the same map eric and i used yesterday still looking to very little to none over downtown. no problems on the roadways t. rhodes will be wet -- the roads will be wet. up near wilmington we'll have snow mixing in twron -- 41 degrees. it's mainly because off the ground it's below freezing all the way up to the clouds. you can see some rainfall there's a lot more off to the west. there's snow mix that turns to rain this afternoon. especially downtown in the 40s. is on the way. we'll tell you how high it goes. that's coming up at 5:18. >> thank you very much. >> horrific video released out of russia. surveillance video came out of plane crash near an airport. the air liner was carrying 60 people from dubai. everyone on board died. investigators say strong winds likely caused the crash. it belonged to budget carrier named fly dubai. >> turning now to local news police say they think they now know who was in sigh -- inside that car that plunged into the ohio river earlier this week. fried thing video just released to us yesterday. an gel la ingram has new information. >> police were contacted by the family of the victim who drove >> a car dropping off the bridge into the ohio river. police i think the car is a red pontiac grand prix and now they think they know who was in it. >> although it's circumstantial it's a strong possibility that we believe we know who might be have been driving at the time to vehicle went over the bridge. >> the family says their missing loved one routinely drives across this bridge. so far the river conditions have been too dangerous for the recovery team. >> this river is very unfriendly and very unforgiving. we have to have the current the speed of the current in a certain position before any of these diverse can do their work. >> police will not release the name of the person until they have confirmation that's actually who was driving. they're trying to figure out what force the -- forced the car over the wall but the priority is the person or people inside so i've heard comments about how that up regardless how high the river is but that won't assure the safety. that diminishes our chance of recovering the victim if they're inside the vehicle. >> it still could be several days before diverse are able to safely go into the water. the river current has to be 1 1/2 miles per hour or less. today it was at five miles per hour. angela ingram local wants the paris terror suspect captured extradited to face trial in france. he's 26 years old and was arrested near where he grew up in brussels. >> the four months -- months long manhunt is over. authorities captured the brussels. this is believed to be the moment he was caught. prosecutors say he did not immediately surrender. police tracked him down after they found his fingerprints during a raid tuesday. he was the most wanted man in europe. authorities say he helped plan the november 13th paris attacks and was in the city the night they went down to. the coordinated attacks at cafes a sports stadium and concert hall killed 130 people and wounded more than 400. authorities believe he called some friends to pick him up and drive him back to belgium during the panned do moan yum weather. >> right now we're sitting at 45 degrees at the international airport a lot of us in the 40s but we're close to 30s downtown. that's where we have the best chance of seeing snow flakes is north and east of downtown. you can see northern kentucky a lot of us into the mid to upper 40s. these temperatures are going to continue to fall until 10:00 or 11:00 o'clock. that's when we'll bottom out in our temperature. it will fall a degree per hour since 2:00 a.m. that could increase as the rain the rain tends to cool us down and it feels chilly outside. as this rain moves in we'll cool our temperatures off into the 30s. here's the rain on precision doppler 12 h.d. blue means light rain. yellow means moderate rain. we're not seeing yellow on doppler radar this is sprinkles moving into downtown. most of these are on the west side. this is all along the western end of the 275 loop. we'll continue to see this push eastward. that's the direction it's moving. we have a lot of dry air around. it's having hard time to make it down to the ground. we'll get enough moisture to make it down the ground. seeing light rain. but know snow to speak of right now. as we go through the morning and the temperatures cool on down mix in north of downtown. and even into the afternoon hours. we haven't made many changes. still very little to none as we go through northern kentucky and southeastern indiana not seeing too much in the way of snow. the roads are going to be wet today no matter where you are. look at temperatures into the 30s. by 10:00 a.m. that's when we have snow flakes mixing in. forty-three by two. that's where we're going to top out into the middle 40s. the rain is overtake thing dryer air all the way back to st. louis. so we have a while to go until the rain pushes out of here. so there are the 30s near columbus. slowly moving in our direction because our wind direction is starting to come in from the a lot of warmer weather 50 and above is from bowling green down through tennessee. so by 8:00 a.m. our computer model does have snow. highland county to wilmington if you're going north you'll likely encounter snow flakes. the northern end of butler county. that's where we keep the rain snow line is from butler over to clinton. we can't rule out flakes in downtown mix anything with the rain but i think it's going to be mostly rain. after 2:00 p.m. most of it moves out. we're just looking at isolated showers later on today and then you can see we're mainly dry sunday as well. we have the can chance of isolated showers. most of us are staying nice and dry. especially as we go into the first part of next week. it's not looking too bad at all. in fact let's check the forecast. we're going to be near 70 we'll have more good good morning everyone. there are lots of great things to see and do today in cincinnati especially on stage. here are a few suggestions. first the cincinnati ballet is teaming up with ballet met lays. wild sweet love features contemporary music -- and the ball lay met xhum bass will perform age of innocence and who cares by george ballen sheen -- columbus. >> and tonight cincinnati orchestra coal lab bore rates with the music now festival founded by bryce of the band the national and brings together class particular call and modern music. this year the two unique programs feature numerous musicians. very cool. of to kill a mock king bird at play house in the park has been so popular they're extending the show through april 10th -- this is the first time the show has been performed at we can see those late morning north and east of town. here's precision doppler over downtown. this blue is rain. we're picking up sprinkles over downtown because we have a lot of dry air in place. gets to ground but we do have a few rain drops mixing to the ground. i meanly on west of i-275 loop. all of this is lowly starting to push east. so if you're going up i-71 headed towards columbus or cleveland not looking at too much rain up there for the time being but that will change as we go throughout the morning. and even mix with a few snow flakes. other than that not seeing too much in northern ken tongue can i and southeastern indiana -- kentucky. that's where we have temperatures in the 40s and 30s near wilmington. that's where we'll be watching for snow. we'll see temperatures above freezing everywhere. roads will not be a problem. we're dry downtown with the exception with a few rain drops. this rain is progressively moving east but there's a lot it's in southern illinois. we're going to see rain throughout the day although it will break up towards late afternoon. coming up in fifteen minutes a much dryer tomorrow than we're timing out a big warm up liz on the seven day forecast. we'll tell you how shy and thunderstorms when those come in. >> thank you, brandon. >> more than 60 people aboard a plain bound for russia are dead. investigators released this video of a plane crash. the air liner was coming from dubai when it crashed while landing at a russian airport. officials believe strong winds likely caused this crash. the plain belonged to the budget carrier fly dubai. >> also new this morning a local man will appear before a hamilton county judge. the complaint says earl lee agreed to meet a couple after a craigslist ad and he pulled a gun and tried to take money and he faces two counts of aggravated robbery. >> we know it was technology and some luck that linked a man in prison a series of shootings at cincinnati's tallest building. we first told you about the indictment of the man serving prison time for a gun battle at the shell station many walnut hills last year. when he was arrested for that police found a gun using a high-tech ballistics network. they matched the shell casings with that gun with the other crime. >> it can do in hours what it takes hours for others to do. >> this ties shootings and a lot of of times the same guns are used in crimes across the country. >> at the last of the four tower shootings they captured this car on surveillance video as well. an accident the next day. the driver as already or is already serving six years in shooting. the charges from the tower shootings could get him 10 more. >> a local woman charged in the beating death of her toddler admits to her guilt. rebecca kinner pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter permitting child abuse and endangering children. deputies found her two year old child beaten and unconscious in her home in december. rebecca's boy friend brapdly young is facing a murder charge -- bradley young. he goes on trial next month. >> another mother pleaded not guilty for charges related to her stepson's death. medics kay 4-year-old austin cooper was not breathing when they were called to a home wednesday morning. anna richie told police she put the boy's legs in scalding hot >> there's no punishment that you could do a 4-year-old to kill them. he didn't do nothing. what did a 4-year-old do to get scalded to death? i want her to get the death penalty. she took my baby i want hers. >> austin's maternal grandmother placed blame on austin's mother who he is says is a heroin addict. they said she did not protect her child when she gave up custody. . >> dayton, ohio woman who's been in prison for 20 years for murdering and robbing a 15-year-old girl wants governor kasich to grant her clemency. she's getting support from an up likely source. hamilton county prosecutor. >> i've studies her case and believe she was innocent and wrongfully convicted. >> this person is advocating for the release. joining the core russ hamilton county prosecutor -- chorus. >> it's my personal opinion that tire a deserves a chance to be free again. >> -- he says she has done enough time. >> i got to meet her in jail and i was very impressed with her and i think she would make a very good citizen in ohio. >> patterson was convicted of taking part in a robbery and murder of 15-year-old child in dayton, ohio. >> necklace. >> patterson's attorney says his client grabbed the necklace off the ground and called 911 for david single on the says patterson's -- >> she did not commit robbery and we know that because her codefendants say she didn't commit a robbery. >> one person is the shooter and one is serving time. the montgomery prosecutor's office says patter shown should stay in prison. >> she tried her case. she got a fair trial. she got convicted. >> they say the prosecutor doesn't have all the facts. >> i'm very surprised at the lack of professional courtesy of not getting a complete full picture of events before weighing in on an opinion. >> i was one of 12 jurors who voted to convict her. >> meanwhile some these tickets are only available at the ballpark ticket window. there are only 300 standing room only tickets and 450 view level tickets for opening day. last year's tickets sold out in less than an hour. the tickets include the opening day and one field box ticket to any other april game. the limit is four packages per person. now here at the front of the line we have tracy and christie. you madness brackets really starting the american game agent association shin says americans are betting nine billion dollars -- 40 million americans filled out brackets for the tournament. if you've been watching you probably have lost some money because there's upset. >> i would have lost to jail. michigan state was a big one. i think that busted everyone. i think there's no perfect brackets left. >> that wouldn't surprise me. good basketball watching weather. >> yes it's going to be much cooler. yesterday we got close to 60. not going to be close to that today. >> it was beautiful. >> we're into the 40s from the warmth yesterday but we're cooling on down quick. as more rain works it's way in that tends to cool us down quick. we have water evaporating. our temperatures drop quickly. temperatures especially north of downtown from hamilton lebanon and wilmington into the 30s as we get through the next few hours at least the upper 30s as we see cooler weather starting to push in. the temperature trend overnight has been falling a degree per hour. you can see the rain on the lens. this is camera in covington looking over the river. you see the rain and it's mainly light. you saw megan's live shot. she had a few rain showers. most of this rain is down town. it's filling in from forest park around the 275 loop. even if you're going up 271 near blue ash and kings island getting in on light rain and that's all we're seeing right now. it's just rain. it's not in the form of frozen precipitation and no snow yet. once the temperatures drop off we could see snow flakes mix in fear butler county and fayette and union county especially highland county. that's the best chance of seeing snow this morning. in fact near wilmington we could see slush on car tops. not on the roads. certainly this is the same map we used yesterday. we're not expecting much of anything from cincinnati, kentucky and indiana maybe a snowflake mixing in but that's it. that's what we have for around 10:00 a.m. that's when temperatures are falling into the 30s. that's when we'll hit our lows is around 10 or 11. then we'll rise into the 40s with on and off rain showers. we'll top out our testimony commerce into the middle 40s. maybe in northern kentucky they'll squeeze out 30s and 40s. even a few peaks of sunshine by 7:00 o'clock when the sun sets. i'm hoping we can get part of the day dry. at least some dry periods in here by late afternoon. trying to push in but we had a lot of dry air. you can see this near columbus. that's snow flakes trying to mix in but this rain goes back nearly to st. louis. so we have awhile to go until this moves out. forty-five and 38. we get temperatures around 38. yeah that's above freezing but off the ground it's below freezing. we can still have snow falling with temperatures in the 30s. forties over towards evansville. the warmer air is farther south. we're talking bowling green on the south and into ten 7. here's snow mixing in -- tennessee. it's mainly rain in southeastern indiana south of brookville and much of more then kentucky. just a few snow flakes. the rain snow line just starting to approach cincinnati but this afternoon it lifts back north and we're looking dry sunday. it's going to be a mostly dry will continue as we go into the work weaning. we see a big warm up with temperatures approaching 60s. we're we have rain. not too much in northern kentucky yet. most of it is in the 275 loop and pushing north. where we do have rain that's where temperatures have been falling faster. you can see brookville and oxford and versailles down to 41. we'll likely be in the 30s there over the next couple hours and that's where we'll see snow flakes mix in. we're still mainly dry and into the 40s throughout crash in russia. authorities are now saying more than 60 people were killed. that crash happened early this morning in the southern city of ross stove have a done -- during a landing. the boeing plan was coming from dubai and this surveillance video shows a distant view of the crash. children were among those dead. there are reports there were crash. >> some frightening video of a car that dropped off the bridge earlier this week. this happened during a 12 car accident on tuesday. the car has not been recovered due to river conditions but authorities say they do now have a good idea who was in the car after family members contacted police and told them the car the person was driving. >> although it's circumstantial at this time there's a strong possibility that we believe we know who might be have been driving at the time the vehicle went over the bridge. >> police still don't want to release any names they say until they can pull the car out and make a positive identification. it could still be several days before drivers are safely able to go into that water. >> we turn now to our coverage of march madness. the university of cincinnati spokane washington and unfortunately the game went down to the wire between cincinnati and st. joe's. ellis dufrpgd the ball with seconds to go -- to tie the game but refs say it came in after the buzzer. allie cohn is with the team and has this popping in just to the north of dayton? that's where the rain snow line is. it's just five or 10 miles north of dayton. that's going slowly move to the south closer and closer to our neck of the woods by the time we get to the next couple hours. we need these down to 38. that's when we see snow flakes still 40 degrees brookville -- mixing in. that's where we see snow flakes mixing in. middle 40s in northern kentucky. that's where we have very little to no snow mixing in. this is the same map we used yesterday. i inched this line five or 10 miles to the north. not much going on in cincinnati. butler, warren and wilmington and hillsboro will get snow mixing in. in wilmington i wouldn't be surprised if you get slush there on the car tops and light coating where it changes over around 10:00 or 11:00 o'clock this morning. then we'll start to see rain mix in as we go into the afternoon hours. that's when temperatures warm back up into the middle 40s in some areas by 2:00 o'clock. it's mainly rain over downtown at that time. after 3:00 o'clock or so it's 46 degrees. the rain starts to break up a little bit. we're looking at isolated showers from time to time. see a peek of the sunshine before the sun sets later today. the bulk of the rain is midday and early afternoon. you see how the rain has been trying to push in. the air is so dry it's having a hard time making it down to the ground. we are seeing rain drops make the it down the ground. you see yellows north of evansville. that's going to push in midday. our best chance of rain is around lunchtime and then we start to get dry i don't remember at least by this afternoon. and especially by tomorrow. tomorrow is going to be your day if you have outdoor plans i did would schedule them for tomorrow. forty-three. temperatures dropping fast. if you want 50s you can go to bowling green or south down towards nashville. by 8:00 o'clock you see it mixing with snow. this is blue. not too much in downtown. we're just yesterday. we saw sunshine. so any snow that does fall is going to melt on the roadways. we're getting our temperatures down into the 30s. waiting to get into the 30s in wilmington 40 degrees. northern kentucky we probably won't see any snow today. we're in the 40s there so a few rain drops on the lens. this is downtown. the air has been so dry a lot of it has been having trouble making it down the ground but this stretches back to st. louis. so still in southern illinois. we have a while until this rain pushes out. so a few snow flakes around 11:00 o'clock and downtown it's mainly rain with temperatures into the 40s. even a few peaks of sunshine by the time the sun sets. coming up at 648 we're talking dryer weather on the way tomorrow and then a big workweek warm up near 70. in and when that warmth can fuel thunderstorms in fifteen minutes liz. >> thank you brandon. we're following a plane crash in russia that killed 60 people. there were no survivors when a boeing crashed at the southern city in russia coming from dubai. the passengers and crew died. four children were among the dead. the cause of the crash are unknown but there were reports of strong winds at the time. >> we're learning that it was technology and a bit of luck that linked a man in prison to a series of shootings at cincinnati's tallest building. the man indicted is serving time in prison for a gun battle at the shell station in walnut hills. when he was arrested police found a gun and using a network they matched the shell casings from that gun with the ones at >> you can do in hours what it would take a firearms examiner a lifetime to do. >> this ties in shootings from detroit, st. louis, l.a., new york, miami and you know a lot of times the same guns are used across the country. >> police had luck on their side. at the last of the four tower shootings they captured a car surveillance video and that same car was involved in an accident the next day. the driver he's already serving six years in prison for the gas station shooting. the towers from the tower shootings could get him up to 10 more. >> the non-profit group the cure starts now has received a lot of attention now the story of lauren hill fighting pediatric brain cancer has touched many more about this organization so this evening the cure starts now will host it's annual gala and auction. the money goes to help fight pediatric brain cancer. since it began the cure starts now has funded 6.7 million dollars in research for that cancer. >> runners will take to the streets this morning to fight a serious the dress you have on for instance would look like a yellowish greenish tint to it to a dog. they don't see -- it's the equivalent of being color blind. >> these hughes are what they see now? >> correct. the top part is the human spectrum the bottom part is the canine spectrum so they don't see reds. it's like human being color blind. >> that's interesting. >> their eyes over the years they descended from wolves so they're designed from hunting protection. so they have a wider field of vision than we do. but their focus is less. they concentrate on movement. a lot of dog toys are red so if you throw that the dogs going to go after the boubsing but if it stops in the grass it's going to these dogs will see these if you throw them out in the grass. so dog toys vary in their design. brightness. dogs don't seem to react to sunlight as we do. not this needing sunglasses. >> so much for the dog guy sunglasses then. >> that's right. but if you see a dog reacting that way there's mixed in. it's from fayette to oxford. warren over towards highland county. clinton county as well of the that's your best chance for seeing flakes. not too much going on from cincinnati to northern kentucky. temperatures today will be warming up into the 40s nicely. forty-four by 3:00 o'clock. that's when we're going to top out into the middle 40s. i think 46 will be our high between five and six. after 4:00 o'clock we see the bulk of the rain move out but we also see a few breaks in the clouds from time to time. i threw in sunshine right before sunset but we still have a chance for a stray shower this afternoon. so if you have to go out and do anything and you want to avoid the rain i would do so after 4:00 today. that's your best chance to see dryer weather move in. here's the rain pushing in. you see that area to the white not too far off north and east there's heavier rain north of evansville. that's going to push in around midday. if you want dryer weather later on this afternoon maybe. the warm weather is well south. there's snow mixing in the north with rain in cincinnati. by three or four o'clock most of it pushes east. you can see spotty showers from time to time. we're dry as we get into sunday but notice light showers off towards our east. it could scrape by in places like adams county or towards hillsboro could get in on a light shower sunday but i think most of us are going to stay mainly dry. we're certainly dry by monday. hey you don't see any clouds monday. it's going to be really nice to kick off the workweek. it's going to be cool like it surveillance video came out of a plane crash near an air force. -- airport. the airliner was carrying 60 people from dubai and everyone died. investigators say strong wind caused the crash and it was a boeing coming from dubai. >> officials i think they know who was in the car that plunged into the ohio river from a bridge. frightening video came to us yesterday. >> police were contacted thursday by a family who believes their loved one may have been inside the car. right now it's still not safe for the recovery team to go into the river. >> this video shows when witnesses called into 911 and cincinnati coming down moderate at times. you can see little dots of yellow showing up on precision doppler 12 h.d. within the 275 loop that's just moved in the past 30 minutes we can see where it mixes in with wet snow flakes about 800 feet off the ground. so i wouldn't be surprised if we get a wet snowflake making it down within the 275 loop. especially about an hour or two from now as temperatures fall a little bit. most of this is north of this. it's dry for now but more rain is moving into northern kentucky. this is where the rain snow line it's moved down from dayton. it's over toward wilmington getting in on snow. that's this area in white. there's snow flakes. the roadway temperatures into the 50s. no problem whatsoever. we're not seeing slick roadways other than them being wet. you can see where it is into the snow. 30s and 40s for the rest of us. we'll see hires around 46 degrees. coming up -- the highs around 46 degrees. >> we'll have thunderstorms back into the coming from dubai and it crashed in russia. >> also new this morning a local man will appear in front of a hamilton county judge to answer to robbery charges actual complaint states that earl lee agreed to people a couple in a craigslist add and once they met he pulled a gun and tried to take a car from that couple and faces aggravated robbery. >> we know it was technology and luck that linked a man in prison a series of shootings at cincinnati's tallest building. we told you about the indictment of the man serving prison for a gun battle at the shell station in walnut hills last year. that's when he was arrested. police found a gun using a high-tech ballistics network they were able to match the shell casings from that gun with the shootings at queens city square. >> you can do in hours what it lifetime to do. >> this ties in shootings from detroit, st. louis, l.a., new york, miami and you know a lot of times the same guns are used in crimes across the country. >> now it's the tower shootings where they captured a car on video and that car was involved in an accident the next day. the driver was this man. he's already serving six years in prison for the gas station shooting. the charges from the tower shootings could get him up to 10 more. >> a local woman charged in the beating death of her toddler admits to her guilt. rebecca kinner pleaded guilty to permitting child aboouf -- abuse and endangering children. deputies found her two year old daughter kilns he beaten. her boyfriend bradley young is facing murder in the toddler's >> another mother pleaded not guilty to charges in her stepson's death. austin cooper was not breathing when they were called. she put the boy's legs in scalding hot water as a punishment tuesday night. >> there's no punishment that you could do a 4-year-old to kill them. he didn't do nothing. what could a 4-year-old do to get scalded the death? i want her to get a death penalty. she took my baby. i want hers. austin's maternal grandmother placed blame on her daughter who he is says is a heroin addict. she says her daughter did not protect her child when she gave up custody and the child. right now the calmer than during the break. >> there's rain and snow mix anything from time to time. on precision doppler blue here is rain. you can see most of it is light within the 275 loop. downtown cincinnati. i have seen on the radar there's snow mixing in off the ground. it doesn't seem like it's making it off the ground. it's melting before it does so. within a couple hours. downtown. we have mixing in fear oxford. this is up near eaton. this is where the rain snow line has been north of dayton but it's been progressing south. if you go up 75 you have to go past mates son close to dayton. we're seeing -- mason. we're seeing up seventy-one you'll encounter snow flakes around hickory vil. we'll start to see more move closer to cincinnati. problems. that's the good news. we're above freezing. so any snow is melting shortly after contact. you can see there's a lot of wet roadways. you'll want to take it easy if you're going out and about. this is your weather camera. we can see the rain continuing to fall just like our temperatures. because the air is dry. it's been dry for a couple days now. once we get the temperatures cool counsel. we have snow flakes mixing in -- cool down. we'll see snow flakes mixing in once the temperatures drop into the 30s. we may make it there around 39 for our low temperatures. so that's where our best chance to see some snow flakes to the north of downtown. very little to none in southeast indiana 40s to 3:00 o'clock. after 3:00 o'clock we have isolated showers and cloudy skies from seven onward which means we could see peaks of sunshine before the sunset later so you see some of that rainfall trying to move in. there's snow off towards the north. you can see how it was slowly progressing south. that rain snow line is going to continue. and then the rainfall ends in southern illinois. you're going to see 7:00 o'clock. fifties through knoxville and nashville. here's rain snow line around 8:00 o'clock. that's too long from now. by nine to 10:00 o'clock that's much closer to cincinnati but still staying in indiana and kentucky where it will be all rain. look at sunday not too bad of a day. this is when you'll want to make you're out door plans. it will be much nicer out by the time we get around especially monday. we'll have pretty much clear skies. seventy degrees by thursday. that's our next storm system friday. good morning
