3 school is canceled this morning. And four students are hurt after police say a 14 year old boy pulled out a gun in a local school cafeteria. James Austin Hancock is in custody this morning. When the first emergency call came in. Eighth graders at Madison Middle School were eating lunch. According to the say they know why the teen pulled the trigger. The victims are all expected to survive. 3 57 i thought where am i going to go . Went right back into the library. 1 18 3 hancock is facing several charges. Including two counts of attempted murder. Deputies say they are trying to figure out where he got the gun and how he got it into the school. 3 a total of 4 people were hurt in the School Shooting. Cameron smith and Cooper Caffery were the ones shot. One of them in the thigh and the back. The other in the arm. Brant murray and Katherine Doucette were also injured. Deputies say they were hit by shrapnel. They are all expected to make a full recovery. 3 school staff, deputies and e for their quick action after the violence. Butler countys sheriff says they were prepared because of training. Federal. State. And local Law Enforcement agencies worked together to take care of students. Get the wounded out of the school. And find the shooter. Hancock was in custody within fifteen minutes of the shooting. The sheriff says deputies have been doing active Shooter Training for years.
