3 new information on a story we brought you yesterday.. a college hill man was shot during an attempted robbery. but his attackers didn't didn't know he also had a gun .. and wasn't afraid to use it. it happened tuesday night on lynnebrooke drive outside antwoine mccants home. mccants says he had just pulled up to his house and was unloading his car when the two men tried to rob him. mccants didn't waste time,he pulled out his gun and started shooting.one of the men fired back and shot mccants in the leg. 3 07.37.33-50 antwoine mccants, shooting victim"i came back here, i was about to grab my pool sticks outta here. as i was in here i seen in my peripheral two guys run around. as i'm coming out he's standing right there and said you know what time it is. i pulled out my gun and we started shooting. burns on his leg, but he is able to walk. 3 some exciting 3 changes could be coming to covington's waterfront. the city has hired a landscape architect to come up with some concepts to make the riverfront a destination. these "opportunity overlays" were presented to the covington city commission. the possibilities include a zipline, a rock climing wall and kayak flume.they're just 3 larry "she's more than just a contact at easter seals, she's become a good friend." "we just try to keep it light. you know talk about what did you have for supper last night? are you doing okay?"but one day this past summer tim wasn't doing okay at all and michelle wasn't expecting the grim words she'd hear on the other end of the line. "he said, 'michelle this is tim and it's over.'" "i knew i had not heard him like that before and you could just tell there was a resolution in his voice." michelle says at the time tim was in a transitional home hoping to get his own place...but for him the situation was looking hopeless. "i immediately let my partner know, jason erheart the other community one source specialist that we had a over the course of several phone calls...tim hanging up and calling back...michelle and jason learned he was on a bus and had taken a large dose of prescription pills..."from what i am understanding he took a pretty significant amount because he was admitted to the intensive care." "and you figure times 12, i had a lethal dose."with the help of police michelle says tim was located on a bus on central parkway. "next thing i know there was cops everywhere. like they were circling around me. "he was then taken to the v-a medical center to be treated. "you don't have to be suicidal to call even if you just need somebody to talk to." she just wants veterans to know help is out there...whether it's a simple question, needing support or in a case like this needing to be reminded that life is still worth living... help is just a call away. "like michelle today may not be the best day but there's always tomorrow."
