3 time/temp ...ahead at four-30 ...we're learning more about the woman accused in a now-deadly hit and run ...plus ...the iowa caucuses are over ..a look at the results, next, break one3 3 now at four-30 ...a clear winner is emerging from a tight democratic race in the iowa caucuses ... 3 upgraded charges coming ...a hit and run turns deadly ... and new details about the woman accused of causing it. 3 outside help ...how investigators say one man played a part in the escape of three california inmates. 3 good morning cincinnati.thanks for joining us on this tuesday. i'm john lomax.and i'm sheila gray.the stories of the day are coming up. first a check of the weather. here's meterologist john gumm. 3 a "virtual tie" all night, but this morning hillary clinton is claiming victory in the abc news and nbc news declared her a winner just minutes ago on their twitter accounts.clinton and senator bernie sanders went neck and neck all night long.it wasn't so tight for the republicans. 3 tonight is a victory for grassroots//tonight is a victory for courageous conservatives across iowa and across this great nationthe iowa caucuses also means the end for two candidates in the race. mike huckabee and martin o'malley both suspended their 3 turning to local news now ... charges against a woman accused in a hit and run will soon be ugraded now that the victim has died.investigators say melinda woodall hit michael prater on u-s 52 near asbury road in anderson township over the weekend, then took off.when police arrested her shortly after, deputies say woodall admitted to using heroin and tried to hide three bottles of pills in woodall will soon face an upgraded charge of aggravated vehicular homicide, along with leaving the scene of an accident, driving under suspension, and drug charges. in court yesterday, her attorney says she was not under the influence of drugs but distracted by people fighting in her back seat. 3 a violent night in one cincinnati neighborhood.two shootings happened just a block away from each other in mount airy. one on hillvista.. the other on colerain avenue. devonte settles was shot in the back on colerain ave around eight ... police don't have much to go on other than a black toyota may have been involved. 3 the shooting on hillvista lane happened about three hours earlier.. again, details are slim.. in this one, a gray malibu is believed to be involved. what's not clear is if the shootings are related. 3 a chinese businessman is in jailthis morning because of a case put together in dearborn county indiana. it was a sting operation that involved setting up a company in lawrenceburg to order ballistic eyewear like our allege the goggles are fake. local 12's deborah dixon tells us how and where the arrest went down. 3 the army's purchased a million of these,.revision goggles, high level eye protection for special forces to protect them in case of explosions.these are the real revision goggles . the criminal case out of dearborn county indiana is about goggles that look just like them. but they're made in china, r cheaper. and dangerous according to prosecutor aaron negangard. " they're being presented look like revision imply same level of protection" 3 negangard said it's a purchase a police officer might make...or a reservist in the national guard." one thing that bothers us they're putting people who protect us in jeopardy while selling an inferior product""according to county courthouse, an undercover company was set up here in lawrenceburg then goggles ordered then a lab technician from revision examined them"revision military said in a statement that the knock off goggles met none of the industry standards for ballistic quality.the company worked with an indianapolis private investigators who partnered with negangard. he went to a denver trade show on friday where one of the owners of the chinese company was selling ski goggles. " when the man at the trade show was identified as daniel gong we signaled for the denver fugitive team to arrest him" 3 there are arrest warrants for co owners of the company, all are charged with six felonies including counterfeiting, theft.deborah dixon local 12 news 3 daniel gong is still in jail, and is expected to fight extradiction to dearborn county indiana. 3 location is the main focus of cincinnati's new police chief's plan to fight crime last year saw the number of shootings skyrocket. this year... the city already has seen nine homicides.chief eliot isaac wants to focus on crime hot spots.police will attack the network of locations that allow it to go on... including areas like gas stations. 3 but their is definitely gas stations located within the city of cincinnati that are facilitating criminal networks and that's why it's very important to look at these places because some of these issues are very unique to the city of cincinnatithe plan will focus on nearly 20 hotspots around the city. 3 a town hall meeting tonight will examine progress made since the riots in cincinnati in 2001.xavier university has been holding events to educate students about the era.the unarmed black man triggered the riots 15 years ago... the city increased police training and citizen feedback, revised policies to reduce use of deadly force and focused on community- oriented policing. former mayor charlie luken will be among the panelists for the meeting.it starts at seven at the cintas center. 3 first responders will get a crash course on ice rescues this week ...miami township fire and e-m-s is hosting the training today through thursday for at least six departments.this is video of similar training in springfield township.the program includes lessons on ice formations and strength, as well as ice rescue techniques and equipment. 3 cincinnati could possibly host its biggest convention in a decade ... but it wouldn't be until 2021.local leaders are rolling out the red carpet this week for decision makers with "lions club international."it's the world's largest service club -- and its international conference could bring 18- thousand attendees here.that last week's shooting at a homeless camp in seattle.two people were killed and three others were hurt.police say the suspects are 13, 16, and 17-year old boys.investigators believe the shooting stemmed from a fight over a drug deal. 3 we're learning new information about the escape of three inmates from a california prison ...according to police, the escapees had outside help. they say a man who knew one of the inmates visited the jail several times, and gave the he also allegedly picked them up after the break-out.that man is now facing felony charges and will be arraigned later this month.we also learned that prosecutors will not charge a woman who gave one of the inmates google maps, saying there was not enough evidence to hold her. 3 and while those three california inmates are back behind bars, another inmate is on the loose.the los angeles county sheriff's office says 37-year-old steven wright was accidently released from the inmate reception center on saturday.he was awaiting trial for a gang-related murder.the mistake went unnoticed for more than 24 hours.the sheriff's department formed a task force which is now working to track wright down ... 3 new this morning ...bill cosby is due in court today.. as his lawyers push to get a judge to drop charges against him. they say cosby had a non- prosecution deal with a former district attorney.. but it wasn't in writing.. and the lawyer who made the deal is dead now.cosby admitted in the testimony that he gave women pills before having sex with them in his philadelphia-area home.he says it was consensual.. but he's charged assault. 3 a blizzard threat this morning out west.. and denver international airport already cancelled more than 100 flights today ...some passengers have been stranded since
