morning and lingered great and then broke it up a little bit. warmed up and got steamy and then rain and that is going to produce more and this is the boofp pool sent this in and saw what it was like with the water temp around daytona beach at 62 and that' s a bit chilly. here' s the weather story. you have a couple more in the ray darin just a second and then start kicking in the wind and gusts this year ray had knee surgery. he went to an in- network doctor and an in- network hospital. and they paid what they owed to their insurance company. that should have been it. but suddenly - - >> we get a bill from the anesthesiologist and it' s close to $9,000. t be for real. >> reporter: even though has surgeon and the hospital were in network, the anesthesiologist was not. ray and sherry had just entered the brutal world of balanced billing where doctors, hospitals and labs that don' t have contracts with health plans charge huge fees to balance out what they can' t collect from insurance. sherry followed 3 steps to fight back. step 1. she contacted her insurance company. >> and i was informed it was processed correctly based on the plan that we had. >> reporter: step 2. she contacted the out of network anesthesiologist that sent them this bill to negotiate the charges. >> and they said no. basically we would have to contact the billing service for the anesthesiologist. >> reporter: step 3. she contacted the doctor' s billing service. she laid out step by step how she followed every rule in her plan and had carefully chosen an in- network doctor and in- network hospital. mailed her and told her, you know, i felt that this was an outrageous amount of money. we shouldn' t have to pay that since we went to the in- network doctor and in- network facility. >> reporter: 5 months and several epails later the bill for $8500 was reduced to just $335. a savings of $8,165. so how does she feel now? >> elated! very excited. >> justin: that was lisa bell reporting. time now 6:26. let' s check back in with danny treanor. he has today' s forecast. >> dan: i have cooler temperatures for you but wind, too. it could kick up to 25 mph today. that is going to be a bit of a problem. along the coast, if you want to jump into the water, it' s a bit chilly around daytona beach with water temperatures around 70 and down around cocoa beach. this is the big story for tonight. we' re finally going to get some cooler weather returning to central florida. temperatures are going to drop to the 40s but check this out around ocala and 38 . and you know what else? this will stick around for awhile. the chill is on tap for at least the next 3 days. and then the rain comes back on thursday! >> justin: still ahead. a pilot rushed to the hospital after his plane crashed. what led up to the scare coming up. and the tornado touches down in southwest florida. still ahead we' ll have the look at the damage left behind. plus no winner for the $900 million dollar powerball jackpot. how high did that jackpot jump? look, i know you're a cow and all. and you may not know what i'm talking about, but, uh. the yogurt made from mmmm, yoplait. >> justin: everyone is talking about the powerball. >> justin: that' s true. >> justin: but the florida lotto rolled over, too. we have some changes. here. a different something to look i' m going to change this. now notice i want you to notice 18! i just want to you stop and appreciate where you are and what' s going on in your life and this should help just a little bit. up in maine, it' s 37. orlando sitting around 69 and the radar, we got a little bit of rain. it' here around polk county and it' s coming up i- 4. just south of i- 4. that means it could move through intercession city or campbell or something like that. keep that in mind if you' re headed out and about. it could get over to brevard county, too. that' s a something- something. more showers out there. but i think we' re done by about noon time and then get ready for a small warming trend. because right now we' re at 68- 69 and only going to top out at 72 as far as the top temperature goes for today. and as i said, right now, it' s still already warm and it' s still a lot of moisture in the air, too. you will see a low cloud ceiling when you go outside. now the big deal is what' s going to happen after we deal with these temperatures. it' s 68. didn' t do anything in 4 hours. then we start to go into the afternoon and the winds pick up goes down and no mention of rain but look at the temperature and eventually down to about 44 . >> justin: now to breaking powerball news. no one matched all numbers and so now the jackpot stands at 1.3 billion dollars. the odds of winning were 1 in 292.2 million. and the numbers
