His prosecutors say theres not enough evidence to convict the driver who caused this crash that killed her brother in october in altamonte springs. Two people died. Prosecutors say the driver admitted she had taken a fall before the crash happened but claims they couldnt get a search warrant for her medical records. Without it, they say, they didnt have a case. They wrote here theres no evidence that the driver operated her vehicle with willful and wanton disregard for the safety of others. There is no evidence that she operated her vehicle with a gross and flagrant character, life. We asked if she had anything to say to that driver. I dont know. I dont know. What did they tell you . Very much so, matt. They were on their way to make funeral arrangements and didnt want to talk, obviously too upset. But they tell me they miss her so much and they just want her back after she suddenly collapsed here on the soccer field behind me and later died. Students and staff grieving today at Taylor Middle High School after losing one of their own. We have an imagine at Taylor Middle High School. We need an ambulance. We had a girl pass out. It happened during a Junior Varsity soccer game wednesday night. The 16yearold raised her hand to get out of the game, sat on suddenly collapsed. Is she conscious yet . No, shes still out. An ambulance rushed her to the Florida Hospital de land but she died hours later of asthma complications. The school released this Statement Today describing the 10th grader saying in part, she was a very good student and wellliked, always smiling, bouncing around campus and allamerican students that principals love to have on campus. The principal also sent this message home to parents. Today our school counselors, School Social workers, School Psychologists and other School District staff are on campus and available to help our students who were impacted. Some students ended the day by releasing white balloons to remember the girl, their classmate and beloved friend. They want to talk to these three people about the death of joshua hur who was shot and killed at kims food store on poplar avenue in sanford on december 23rd. Police say these three are not considered suspects. But if you know who they are, call crime line. A florida man found guilty of murdering three women nearly 30 years ago is set to die tonight. Oscar boleyns execution is set to start a few minutes ago. The warrant is for the 1986 murder of Terry Matthews near tampa. He was found guilty 10 times by 10 juries for three murders. He also got the Death Penalty in the other two cases. He killed 25yearold Natalie Holly and 17yearold stephanie collins, both in 1986 in tampa. When weve learned hes been executed, well let you know. Bullet holes now riddle units a scary reminder of the hourslong standoff between Melbourne Police and a heavily armed man. Police identified him as michael taylor, who is a veteran. The standoff started around 11 00 last night after a Family Member called for help, saying taylor attacked her and threatened her life. For 12 hours, authorities negotiated with taylor, but they couldnt get him to come out. A veterans Victim Advocate who knows taylor stepped in and helped end that situation peacefully. Were told taylor suffers from ptsd. We dont know which branch he served in. Police say taylor is now facing several charges, including 23 counts of attempted murder on a Law Enforcement officer. The Volusia County man accused of killing his wife and her two kids will go on trial in less than two weeks. We learned today luis toledos trial will start on january 19th in st. Augustine. Also today, attorneys on both sides argued about several pieces of evidence, including his interview with police. The defense argued toledos police about the disappearance of his wife, Yessenia Suarez and her children, should be kept out of trial. They say he was arrested illegally because police did not read him his rights. But prosecutors say toledo speculated about what happened to the kids and their bodies during the interview. They say his arrest is relevant to the entire case and should be allowed. The judge did not make a final decision today. Also tonight, we know when the man at the center of a Deadly Police shooting in orlando will go on trial. That shooting killed an innocent woman at a downtown club. It was previously set for this week. We know now the trial for cody roach is scheduled for march 28ros w with seconddegree murder in the shooting death of the 22yearold woman. It is a charge he faces despite never firing a bullet. After being thrown out of a nightclub, an Orlando Police officer shot him when Police Say One of the bullets went through a door, killing the woman. The officer was cleared because prosecutors say roach is ultimately responsible. If a jury agrees, he could face life in prison. Breaking news. Were just getting in now on a deadly investigation. Leesburg officers say a car driven by 81yearold howard whit was involved in a road rage incident near leesburg high school. Shortly after that, the same car was spotted traveling on u.
