In moments, how this happened and why work was halted indefinitely. A very sad story there. Lisa we start with breaking news in orange county. Sky 6 was just over the orange and lake county line. Deputies and florida fish and wildlife agents are there searching for a missing boater. And west of highway 441. The boater was reported missing around noon. With the sun now down, its not clear how long this search will continue tonight. Well keep you posted. Julie still breaking at 7 00, construction for the entire 21mile i4 ultimate project has been shut down after a deadly mishap. A construction worker was run over and killed by a dump truck. Amanda castro is there with new information on the shutdown. Reporter the contractor is giving the crew time to grieve and evaluating their safety procedures, saying it wont go back to work until the standards are acceptable. Its a dangerous job. Theyre trying to widen i4 but its dangerous. Reporter she drove by the accident this afternoon on her way from work. The nurse stopped to see if she could help but when she got there, the construction worker heavy equipment like that, like a dump truck, if you survive it, its a miracle. Troopers say 31yearold Marvin Franklin walked behind the vehicle as it was stopped. The driver then started backing up, running over the worker and killing him at the scene. Some witnesses think loud traffic and heavy winds could be reasons why the worker didnt hear the backup alarms. I imagine he did not hear it because those bells are plenty loud on those trucks. I cant see any other reason why it would happen. The contractor, sgl, says construction along the big drive will stop for an unknown amount of time, giving crews time to grieve. Were told they will review safety procedures including how dump trucks enter and exit they had a 97minute window, launch window, but they decided to scrub it before the window even opened. The rocket is carrying a satellite for the company ses, which will provide High Definition television for folks in southeast asia. After it sends that payload into orbit, the first stage of the rocket is supposed to land on a floating barge. Spacex has not been successful in landing the rocket on a barge yet and they dont expect it to work this time around either. Thought tomorrow would be a better day for a launch. A crucial lifeline failed before the storm finished moving through. The National WeatherService Radio alert system went down for the second time this year. News 6 reporter Troy Campbell is asking why. Reporter the good news is the emergency radios are back in service tomorrow. Were working on getting results. Micah who is looking into why the Service Outages keep happening. Noaa emergency radios used by many to stay informed about weather in the area. Several hours after the signal went out they were working to get the device working. By changing the dial to one of these alternative transmitters across Central Florida the emergency radios received their signal through a phone line. Last month, the orlando noaa emergency weather transmitter went down during severe weather. Officials later saying the transmitter was struck by lightning, something that doesnt rely on a land line, the news 6 pinpoint weather app, easy to use, giving you breaking weather updates when it matters most. We couldnt get it closed and it was just panic. Julie at least six people were hurt. Governor rick scott has declared a state of emergency. Ginger later in the day another funnel cloud was spotted south of our viewing area in vero beach. Someone with a cell phone fortunately it did not touch ground. It looks scary there. There was even a Tornado Warning for part of the area before 10 00 this morning. Lisa the storm system moved through in waves all day. They moved fast as well. The first to test positive for the virus in florida. There are now 32 zika cases reported statewide in 11 counties. The Surgeon Generals office is not revealing where the pregnant women with zika live due to privacy concerns. So far, all cases are travel related. Federal officials for 250 more zika antibody tests. There are 1200 tests Still Available but we have used more than 255 tests in the past two weeks.
