and 11:45 on saturday night on moss park ridge drive, we're learning this could have been caused by a fight earlier in the evening. news 6 reporter troy campbell is at the scene right now where it all happened. what have we learned out there today? >> reporter: well, being out in the neighborhood, we've also discovered this street behind me, it is the only way in it and out of the entire subdivision. witnesses say that after the shooting, the suspect's vehicle had to go around the block in order to turn around. this allowed for several people to see a clear view of the suspect's license plate. >> missed my grandson. he could have been dead right now. my son could have been shot out here. >> reporter: bullet holes covering the garage of this lake nona home. the bullets narrowly missing the small sheriff's office says no arrests have been made. the family gave a plate number of the two suspects in the vehicle. this is the same guy the son got into a fistfight earlier in the night. >> he's an autistic kid. we have to keep him calm day and night. last night i had to put him in my room, sleep with us because he wouldn't sleep. >> reporter: again the orange county sheriff's office only saying the case is ongoing and the investigation is open. no arrests have been made. we also have found out the homeowners association in the subdivision has been talking following the shooting. hear what some of their ideas are a little later, at 6:00. until then, live in orange county, troy campbell, news 6. >> matt: thank you, troy. we're following you breaking news we brought you at 4:00, a motorcyclist is in critical condition after trying to help out a friend. he tried to get an item dropped by a fellow rider. a group of motorcyclists were heading eastbound on i-4. one of them dropped something, so a rider in the back of the pack pulled over to pick it up. when he ran on to the interstate he was hit by a semi. he was airlifted to the hospital and in critical condition. we'll bring you the latest on the story as we get it. election 2016 coverage now. in a few hours, marco rubio will be heading to seminole county. >> ginger: his campaign event at the millionaire air hangar in sanford is stop no. 2 as he makes his rounds around the state. live now. marco rubio is now behind frontrunner donald trump. that has to be good news heading into the florida primary next week. >> reporter: yeah, that's definitely good news for him. this is kind of becoming a stop trump in any way possible that you can kind of campaign. right now, until rubio could barely edge into second place. so far he has only won minnesota and puerto rico, capturing that territory sunday night with more than 50% support. he hopes to carry the same momentum in his home state of florida. right now, he's fighting it out with trump, close to winning. rubio is just eight points behind in florida, overall dominating in the southern part of the state, 41 to 30. trump still reigns in the north and here in central florida. this is a make-or-break moment for rubio. the winner takes all 99 delegates in the state. home, it all but dashes his dreams at winning the presidency. however, win or lose, he says he's taking it all the way to the republican convention. now, there's still time for you to get out here and hear what rubio has to say in person. the event out here most of the candidates have their eye on the sunshine state and each side is facing a debate right here in florida this week. but first, voters on both sides will head to the polls in michigan and mississippi tomorrow with republican primaries in hawaii and idaho. on the democratic side all eyes are on michigan where hillary clinton and bernie sanders faced off in a heated debate in flint. right now, clinton holds an 11-point lead in michigan. according to the battleground tracker poll. last night's debate highlighted two for the nomination. >> i voted to save the auto industry. he voted against the money that ended up saving the auto industry. >> if you are talking about the wall street bailout, where some of your friends destroyed this economy -- >> you know -- >> excuse me. i'm talking. >> ginger: this week i'll be there live as the democrats face off in a primary debate in miami on wednesday at miami-dade college and then i'll be covering the republican debate live the very next day at the university of miami. but if you're not heading to miami for the debates, it looks like it's going to be pretty warm this week in central florida. >> matt: chief meteorologist tom sorrells is joining us now. no rain but very caliente this time of year. >> tom: i would say so, getting more and more like that all the time. look at the visible satellite right now. no cloud cover to speak of. this is just fair weather stuff coming in off the ocean. not going to deal with that big mess going on out west, at least not until saturday. right now on radar, we're good. everything is cleaned up, all the way back out to texas. you see the big storms from oklahoma to dallas, big rain problems from houston to little rock tonight. by the time the system gets in here, i don't expect it will be nearly that active. right now, we're doing well. down a couple of degrees in the last hour from 75 to 73. the on-the-town forecast for tonight, by 8 p.m., we're partly cloudy, mostly on the bicyclist has died tonight after being hit by a car in orange county. troopers say this happened yesterday evening around 7:30 on central florida parkway at windover way. the bicyclist, a 15-year-old boy, from orlando was trying to a 17-year-old's dodge nitro hit the bike. the teen was taken to the hospital where he died. troopers are still looking into the crash. >> matt: and tonight a man is in jail for pulling numchucks. he threatened a victim with a knife and told him to hand over his cash. he then left the laundromat in a golf cart. detectives tracked him down a short time later. not a good getaway vehicle. they found the knife on him and the numchucks were in the golf cart. >> ginger: a bicyclist is in critical condition tonight with life-threatening injuries after being hit by an amtrak train. this happened in jacksonville. the crash happened around 7:30 this morning. investigators tell us the cyclist was waiting for the tracks to clear and was not aware of the train coming because of earbuds. the amtrak train was heading southbound. a sinking fishing boat off the coast of st. petersburg today. the coast guard sent us this video as their crew responded to the mayday calls from the 37-foot fishing boat. both helicopter and boat crews were sent to the scene where they found the men in a life last. they used a strobe light and safety flares to guide rescue crews to where they were. neither one was hurt. no word on what caused their boat to sink. governor rick scott has signed into law an overhaul of the state's death penalty. the bill was passed last week. it now requires at least 10 out of the 12 jurors to recommend execution for it to be carried out. in the past, it was just required a majority vote. >> matt: lawmakers hope the changes will fix legal questions and allow the state to resume executions. the u.s. supreme court ruled florida's law unconstitutional in january. the legislature is heading into the final week of the session. a lot of unfinished business. legislators have to wrap up work on an $85 billion budget, which takes time, and they're going to vote on contentious bills, dealing with medical marijuana and abortion and alimony and they may pass a bill to repeal a law on unmarried adults living together. this has to be done tomorrow because of a three-day waiting period before a final vote. a lot to get done. still reporter: this is one of the priorities of the new interim c.e.o. she tells me she wants to finish this facility that will house domestic violence survivors in an emergency, at any time of day. progress of harbor house. >> i've been here a week and i'm learning a lot and i'm really enjoying it. >> reporter: meet ellen syler, the new head of the harbor house. she will run this one for the next with no notice. she, quote, unquote, ruffled feathers. wick said it was not her decision to leave and she's proud of where harbor house stands as a life-saving organization. >> people are still dying, the needs are still there, we're still here and we need you to still be there. harbor house must continue doing what it has always done. >> the needs and the issues are huge. this community needs to continue its support of harbor house through this entire process. >> reporter: she will continue to oversee the construction of this facility and get up to speed and get harbor house where she wants it to be and then she says she'll be gone. she has no interest in becoming the permanent c.e.o. here. she plans to get back to jacksonville as soon as possible to her family. at harbor house, erik von ancken, news 6. >> ginger: harbor house is still trying to raise money for the emergency shelter under construction erik was just standing in front of. they still need $2 million of the 7.4 million required to build it. well, one of the nfl's all-time greatest quarterbacks is calling it a career. >> matt: he has announced his retirement. it was an emotional news he thanked his teammates over the years as well as the fans who stuck with him. he played 14 seasons for the colts. he was then signed by the broncos and led his team to four straight division titles and two super bowl appearances, including the win. >> there's just something about 18 years. 18 is a good number. today i retire from pro football. when someone thoroughly exhausts an experience they can't help but revere it. i revere football. i love the game. so you don't have to wonder if i'll miss it. absolutely. absolutely i will. >> matt: manning final season was marred by a foot injury. in december, an stuff. man, are we living right or what? and we're living well. here's radar right now, no rain to talk about here in central florida. it's all back out west. you can see the scattered showers from oklahoma to dallas. that system will march across become a player in the forecast. not until days on end do we have to worry about any rain. what we have is the warmth. so far we hit a high of 77 today. that is dead on for normal this time of year. the overnight low this morning is 51. normal is 55. we were warmer than normal there. records on the day, 90 and 29 with nowhere near those records. can you imagine if it were 29 degrees? how crazy would that be right now? temperature reading in orlando for the moment, down from the high of 77 to 73. melbourne checking in with 71 degrees here at news time and 79 for you in ocala. other temperatures, 77 in gainesville. 77 in the villages. 73 from sanford, orlando, kissimmee, 71 in melbourne and in daytona beach right now, again it's 71 degrees. it's going to be a while before we see any real big cloud cover developing. any appreciable clouds are down in the florida straits or from memphis to dallas, we've got fair weather cloud cover peeling off the atlantic and coming through here. it's not going to pack any rain at all. this is the set-up for the next 24 hours. watch the clock right here. here's tomorrow morning at 5 a.m. clear, 56. here's tomorrow. first thing in the morning, 61. by noon tomorrow, 75. there's the daytime high, mostly sunny and 79 beautiful degrees. it's 2 degrees warmer than today. bike week forecast for tomorrow too. breezy but pretty. the temperature reading makes it to 77 tomorrow beachside. on wednesday, 83. thursday, 85. wednesday and thursday feel more like summertime, honestly, than the
