S. On espionage charges. Edward snowdens father wants his son to have his day in american court. Where my son chooses to live is going to be his decision. I would like for him to be able to come back to the u. S. Lon snowden plans to meet his son in moscow to find ways to dispute the espionage charges. Hes been granted asylum for one year. The only deal will be true justice. Maryland representative dutch rups ruppersberger had strong words. He went to cry that and russia snowden is accused of leaking classified information. Late last week president obama announced plans to make programs more transparent and accountable. Ruppersberger said reform is needed but those programs protect americans. We need this program. A maryland man celebrating the 30th anniversary of his heart transplant. Christy alleto explains the milestone makes him one of the nations longest surviving transplant patients. Baltimore county resident orlando knows how far heart transplant surgeries have come. The way were walking 30 years ago you wouldnt have been able to do this. It would have been difficult. At 28 he was fighting to live. When i was first told that i was going to need a heart transplant that was very scary, especially at that time heart transplants werent been done. In 83 they put the heart of a 16yearold into his chest, making hopkins second heart transplant patient. We knew it was going to work, just not how well. It was more risky, more complicated. He was given a 50 surviving his first five years. Edward casper has been his cardiologist for the last 20 years. To be able to point to people we helped and say this man is alive today because of this is a good feeling. He celebrates 30 years of life after surgery. We have seen firsthand how wonderful Organ Donation can be and save someones life. Now orlando and his wife pamela are asking ones to be donors. Theres still a shortage of donor hearts. Doctors are hoping his story will encourage people to become an organ donor. Next up this morning on wjz, a california teenager is safe after going missing for a week. A california teenager miss missing for a week has been found and the man with her was shot by Law Enforcement officers. Here is marly hall with the story. After nearly a week of worry ralph and sara brit will soon be reunited with their granddaughter. Were going to hug her. The 6 day or deal came to an end in central idaho when fbi agents rescued Hannah Anderson and killed her kidnapping james lee demagio. The way its ended up for hannah and jim, its h fitting. The brits are relieved hannah is okay. Just a week ago they lost their daughter, Kristina Anderson and 8yearold grandson, ethan. The two bodies were found in demagios burned california home. Thats when authorities believe he fled hannah. Law enforcement officials tracked them to a remote area in central idaho after a tip from four horse back riders who reported they saw a man and young girl who looked out of place. The amber alert was on the television i told my wife, thats that girl. Authorities found demagios car in the idaho wilderness. A helicopter dropped fbi agents for a 2hour hike to the camp site. They approached on foot, waited until they separated then shot and killed the suspect. Fbi agents are still processing evidence.
