maryland already has heavier rain moving into cumber and. hagerstown and frederick, all of this is moving eastward it. is warm out there this morning. 47 in baltimore. 50 already in d.c. 55 at the ocean. you can see everything from 44 in west minister to 46 in rock hall. now this afternoon we're going close to 60 with the rain picking up. rain will become heavy. the cause of that flash flood watch goes into effect. and we do expect possibly a couple inches of rain. >> kristy breslin is in for sharon gibala. good morning, don. the only problem is on the east side of the inner loop. we have that truck fire on cove road. it continues to attract plenty of lay tension. as you make your approach to whitemarsh boulevard, no problems in the northbound direction. harrisburg still smooth in both judge called the proposed sentence too light, so today both sides will be back in court. >> since he's no longer with us, he is in heaven, bouncing off clouds. >> reporter: it's been more than two years since stephen nelson said he threw his 3-year-old son turner off the key bridge into the patapsco river. >> the remains were found off the sea earth terminal. >> reporter: yesterday in court his attorney and prosecutor appeared to have a deal. plead guilty to second-degree-murder and get a maximum 30 year sentence. circuit judge george russell not only rejected the deal but admonished the prosecutor for assuming the judge would accept the deal. according to documents nelson killed his son on super bowl sundayed then tried to kill himself in the midst of an argument with the boy's mother. >> he was destined to make his mark on the world. >> reporter: attorneys will be back in court this morning in front of a different judge. don, back to you. >> that new judge, charles peters was overheard telling attorneys that help doesn't believe 30 years is sufficient. overnight we learned of a stabbing. one person was stabbed inside the taco bell on edge water. a med di vac helicopter headaches. >> reporter: the nfl recrnltly clamped down on the dangerous hits leveling big fines against players. the investigation just last year explored how dangerous they are. >> what concerns me is the repeated trauma. >> i've had three concussions. >> their size and their weight will be hey qif lnts to crashing a car in a brick wall. >> reporter: but in this new lawsuit shelton claims the league won't owe -- pay him. >> they said they would give him a lower level of pension. >> reporter: $110,000 a year. shelton believes he's entitled to the maximum $224,000. it said it required shelton to be placed in the highest category. mr. shelton worked at a pharmacy until april 2009. >> he tried to work at a walgreen for a couple weeks. he's a proud man who would rather be paid to earn a living. >> reporter: while the nfl is trying to ed kale kate players. shelton said this needs to do more. >> when players are seriously injuried by those dangerous hits, then they need to step up. >> reporter: shelton is 27 years old. from his home in north carolina, he called this lawsuit slade but necessary. mike hellgren, wjz eyewitness news. fines but no suspensions after the game in houston. defensive back cortland finnegan and andre johnson both fined $25,000 for that altercation. in a poll, fin nip gan was named -- finnegan was named the sixth dirtiest player in the league. moisture to the system. what we're thinking, these temperatures already high. 47 in baltimore. 50 in d.c. and 55 in ocean city. we're going up close to 60 this afternoon. take a lack at how big the storm is. it continues all the wi down into the gulf of mexico. on the southern side, that's where we saw severe weather yesterday. although we will not see that, we are going to see the chance for some thunderstorms as the cold front which has all of the heavy rains and thunderstorms moves our way. it works out like this. the winds pick up. the cold front comes through during the overnight hours. our high temperature will be early in the day and temperatures plummet as some cold air comes in. sleet or snow mixed in. then this gets out of here. colder air settles in for the next few and dozens of classmates hostage. tammy elliot is reporting for wjz. >> reporter: students at the wisconsin high school are relieved but shaken. >> it could happen again. >> reporter: just before classes let out monday, police said a fellow student pulled out a gub and fired two shots -- gun and fired two shots. he then took 23 students hostage and a teacher. >> we determined no one was injured. >> feef of the hostages were released. after hearing three more gunshots, the police stormed in. >> the suspect fired one shot and injured himself. >> reporter: the rest of the hostage whrs safely -- hostages were savely united with their loved ones. authorities continue their investigation. meanwhile, the small town tries to come to grips with this incident. >> it's mind boggling. >> reporter: it may take some time before the question is answered. >> it as really sad that anybody gets to this point. >> reporter: students said he appeared depressed but didn't seem like help wanted to hurt anyone. in marinette, wisconsin, reporting. >> that student's condition is not known. the oregon teenager accused in a plot said he is innocent. cleric innocent -- mohamed mohamud was trying to plot to blow up an area. police say two people planned robbery. he stormed in the store and demanded money. he has already admitted to throwing his child off the key bridge on super bowl sunday in
