>> we're going to wander around here for a little bit. we've got both players on the green. harrison frazar, a lengthy 45-footer, i would assume. robert karlsson, probably inside of 20 feet right there. this putt we had earlier watching the players come around and play it. in fact, robert karlsson had just about this exact same putt. and you know harrison was paying attention to it. but robert karlsson hit it about six feet past. >> standing to the side of this green, gary, it's a fairly substantial back-to-front slope. >> this is no time of the day you want a four-footer for your second put. >> no. this is just deadweight it. trust that your opponent may not make his 18-footer. but you can't get greedy on this one. ian: this is definitely one of those putts that if you're in regulation play or playing with your buddies at home and someone says i'll give you two putts from there, you pick it up and go. two putts from here i think would be sensational. tough putt. >> it will go back to the right now. it's got some speed. this is nice. this is very nice. excellent. exquisite even. we talked about that, ian. these two guys haven't won yet and they're not going to make a mistake, so it could be a lot of lagging going on. ian: boy, wasn't that a great lag. >> fantastic. ian: harrison has told us he plays his best when he's loose and easy going and relaxed, but it's so hard to be that way in a playoff. there's so much resting on each shot. >> it's amazing this game, just work on your mind. harrison frazar has been out here for 13 years. we've documented that. he's just had a tough time with it. and he wrote a couple articles early in the-year-old about how this is probably it, he's done, he's had enough. he wants to go home. and as soon as you say that, all of a sudden here come the golf gods going, you know, we're going to tease you a little bit here. we're going to get you playing good again and remember how much fun this was. amazing when you give up out here all of a sudden it turns around. peter, you got a read for me here? a little left to right? >> it's not going to do very much. >> about one out of five from here. for the win. that's going to wander a little bit over there to the right. and we will scurry on to the next hole, the 12th hole. down there where you just about can't miss it. that's what i thought. robert karlsson, harrison frazar. we're going to go across the bridge again. and this tee is just right across on the other side of that water over there. a lot of people still out here watching. good for them. they love the golf here in memphis. absolutely love it. ian: another danger hole here upcoming, too, gary. water up the right, water in front. tight pin. >> these holes that we're playing for this loop right here are all position holes. >> par 3 is just a little wedge. bill: good look at the 18th there. they'll just kind of do this loop. 18 will follow 12 if it's not decided there. >> now the wind that was downwind on 11 is left-to-right on this hole. they have about 280 yards to stay short of that big bunker on the left-hand side. >> ian: whose ball flight do you think agrees with that the most, the draw against the wind or aim it down the left and let it go in the wind? >> i think you've just got to aim it down the middle of the fairway toward the bunker, maybe turn it down the middle of the breeze a little bit. just hit your normal, solid shot. bill: 406-yard par 4. ian: double bogey first day. has to put that out of his mind and just hit another good 3-wood like we've been watching him do the last hour or so. nailed it. bill: that was cooley struck. right in the middle of the fairway. >> this has to be a little bit of a concern for robert, because what few misses he's had, especially with the driver, have been out to the right. that's obviously not acceptable here. ian: aggressive setup position. looks like he's going to hit the 3-wood, turn it down. >> he likes it. ian: hit down on it. took the divot. that might have been the 5-wood. well back. bill: third hole of sudden death here in memphis. karlsson and frazar trying to karlsson and frazar trying to settle things. bill: back in memphis. the lineup tonight begins with "60 minutes," followed by broadway's biggest stars on the tony awards, live tonight, only cbs. that's where robert karlsson ended up. i think he hit that a little fat. check out this difference. there's frazar. ian: wow. what do you think, bill? bill: he knows he had a chance. had a one-shot lead going into 18. put it in the pond. opened the door for karlsson and stepped through. robert karlsson in a playoff here in memphis for the second straight year. ian: as far as he hits these irons, it's not that big a problem for him. he's far enough back to have a full swing and probably just a 9-iron, perhaps an 8-iron. but he hits his shofert irons specifically a long way. bill: karlsson playing full-time on the pga tour. for the first time moved his family to charlotte. 23rd in the world. he's ranked ninth on the european tour. played in only 11 events last year, but got into the top 125 on the money list. ian: he's made a pretty good check here. bill: 98th in the fedexcup points standings currently, but if he wins he'll move to 38. >> he has a 9-iron. pretty good club for him, i think. a little bit downwind from the right. flag is only five paces over that pond. bill: a few tense moments there. ian: he's left a few of those short irons right. that's the trend. bill: frazar, a huge advantage if he can put this in tight. >> 93 yards. he does have his lob wedge. ian: just fire right at it. perfect number. >> no time. this is on a good line. the right distance. bill: happy with that? >> yes, absolutely. ian: it's a little squirrely, that lie. it's not soft and curby like so many of those lies. has to trap it just a little bit. that's what happens when you trap it too much. firm bounce. 12 foot by. bill: big chance for frazar. ian: he can be somewhat aggressive. in regulation, robert karlsson hit a par here that zipped by this hole pretty good. it's very quick past the hole. >> with the shad toes, it makes it difficult to get the correct read. i've looked at it from both sides. doesn't really do a whole lot in terms of direction. bill: so frazar, this for the win, 22 feet. didn't waste any time. ian: excellent speed. that was perfect holing speed. about a foot past the hole. and a casual little tap-in. i've got my par. bill: and now all the pressure once again on the shoulders of the big swede robert karlsson. ian: this could be like "hangover 2" for robert karlsson, two playoff losss in a row here in memphis. bill: win or lose, this already equals his best result on the pga tour. last year was his best finish ever. and now this to extend the playoff. ian: ok. be committed. feel that ball off the putter head. head. see it going in. and harrison frazar. it's not necessary. it's all over. 355th start. his first career pga tour victory. and as a side note, he's in the field in augusta. here's peter kostis. peter?
