The new deployment brings the total of u. S. Forces in the country to 300. The announcement comes as the u. S. Is also increasing its presences in neighboring iraq. Just last week, the pentagon said its sending 217 more troops to be as advisors. Raising the number of authorized military forces to over 4,000. In an interview with the bbc, president obama admitted isis may not be defeated before he leaves office. Prosecuting the campaign against isle is critical. And although i dont anticipate in the next nine months it will be finished, we can slowly shrink the environment in which they operate and take on strongholds like mosul and rocca that is the beating heart of their movement. The president s decision coincides with the security focused meeting with the leaders of france, germany, italy and the uk.
