sam: jummy, the casino countdown is almost over. just a few hours away from when the doors open at 11:00 tonight. some of the employees are already here. they have smiles on their faces. the energy here is palpable. billion mega resort. this is not just a casino, this is upscale shopping, entertainment, a 3000-seat theater. some of the names already on the schedule -- bruno mars, orinda ran, -- durand durand -- duran duran, cher. this is all inclusive. here. if you are looking for a night out with a good neil -- was a good meal, you want to go to a spa, this is a good destination. a huge economic engine for the county. they expect to bring in more than $40 million a year. half of that will go to education. perhaps the best news, 40% of the employees working here are from prince george's county. it is really an incredible operation. we are going to take you around outside, john gonzalez has all the information on how to get here and what the traffic situation is. what can you tell us? announcer: you are watching "good morning washington," on 6:45. the final countdown is on to the grand opening. autria: in just 16 hours, 14 minutes, the new mgm casino will open its doors after years of planning for it from the business boom to the entertainment and of course the traffic, we have complete team coverage this morning on everything you need to know. we get started with sam sweeney, taking us live inside the new casino. sam: it is an incredible space. their faces. they have been training and waiting for this day, and now it is finally here. in a few hours, the doors will open to this incredible, beautiful space in prince george's county. they spent $1.4 billion to grab your attention, and i think it is going to work. a number of upscale shops. there are also restaurants headed by famous celebrity chefs -- three of them -- and more than 300 hotel rooms, some of can come down to the spa. this is an incredible opportunity not just for guests, it also prince george's county. this will bring in more than $40 million a year, revenue the county has never seen before. half of that will go to children , education both k-12, and community colleges. there is a brand-new school that will be opening near the casino, which is now being used for the community center. there is talk about building a brand-new redskins stadium just across the highway from where we are. the doors open at 11:00 tonight. a lot of people are asking, why 11:00? john: we were just inside that beautiful casino where you are, sam reed we are back in mobile trak 7 outside, and we have been showing you all morning how to get into the mgm from maryland, d.c., and virginia. we now want to show you how to get out of here. this is our roof cam. you can see the golden lion there. this is harborview avenue. this is essentially the that circles the casino. you can go all the way around the casino on harborview avenue. let's say we want to go home to waldorf, maryland. you are going to get on indianhead highway. instead of circling around, you are going to the right and you are going to hit a light. this is oxon hill road, and this is where the anger -- where the tanger outlets are. you can see at exit 3 the tenure outlets -- the tanger outlets. you will hit indianhead highway. that is a good way to get out. and really the only way to head to the southern portion of prince george's county. a lot of ins and outs. a lot of traffic tonight. it is going to be a bear. the county executive d commute. we will see what happens. autria: if you think opening night traffic will be bad, how about when bruno mars, duran duran, or cher coming to town?
