we start with some breaking news. while many people were sleeping-- a united airlines flight from d-c was making an emergency landing in tennessee. airport officials say the flight was forced to land in nashville after reporting smoke coming from one of it's engines. emergency crews met the plane on the runway engine but no flames. they still applied water and foam. all passengers and crew were able to safely evacuate the plane, and no injuries are reported. one week after taking the oath of office-- and president donald trump has a lot on his plate. a deep diplomatic rift seems to be growing between the u-s, and mexico. this comes as president trump prepares to host british prime minister theresa may at the white house. abc's stephanie ramos has more. as preident trump becomes more vocal crack down on undocumented immigrants-- the human impact is coming into focus in our own backyard. efforts are underway to arm people with information- about how life could soon change. tim barber has more. a group of greeneace protesters are out greeneace protesters are out of jail this getting a better idea about the cost of that high-profile protest of president trump. ven activists were released from jail last night after a court appearence. they allegedly broke into a construction site in northwest early wednesday morning. the group eventually scaled a crane and hung a banner with the word "risist" on it. according to the court documents, the protest forced the company to halt work, costing it around half a million dollars. 150 workers were also sent home without pay. protesters say-- their cause was just. we'll tell you how he is doing.. coming up. noon, on the grounds of the washington monument. anti-abortion advocates from all across the country are expected to attend. at one p.m. they'll march to the supreme court and the u.s. capitol. yesterday it was learned, vice president mike pence will speak at the rally. it's the first time a sitting vice-president has attended the annual pro-life event. white house advio kellye anne conway will also speak at the event. there will be street closures in downtown washington, beginning at six this morning. our john gonzalez will have a live report.. coming up at the top of the hour. you can also see the entire route -- along with all the roads that will be closed. just log on to wjla dot com. the parents of murdered u-v-a student hannah graham are taking action in hopes of preventing similar tragedies. jesse matthew pleaded guilty in the 2014 murder.. graham's parents say he should have been stopped before he ever had contact with the alexandria native.. matthew was convicted of a misdemeanor four years before the murder. and he was later tied to a series of other crimes. the grahams are now pushing for d-n-a testing for misdemeanors. they'll be in richmond today to urge house leadership to support a crime commission study advocating d-n-a databank enhancement. developing now .. ohio police are searching for the men responsible for a home invasion that ended with the murder of a 9-year-old girl. it happened january 18th near cincinnati. alex thompson says he was upstairs when three or four men barged ino his house. he says his nine-year-old daughter called for him.. and when he responded-- he saw one of the men pointing a gun at her head. thompson was shot four times. the family believes one of the bullets went through him, nine-year-old alexandrea. there's still no word on a motive. so far.. no arrests. an update on the water crisis in flint, michigan.. the city's water no longer exceeds federally accepted levels for lead. but officials say the water is still not safe enough for residents to drink from their faucets. that's because lead-tainted pipes need to be replaced. and that process could take years. flint mayor karen weaver says residents should continue to drink bottled water.. or use filters. a very close call for a skier in utah.. and before you see this video-- just know that the skier is ok. devin stratton was backcountry skiing with a friend last week, wearing a go-pro camera. he was gliding along, seeing what looked like perfect, untouched snow ahead of him. but then something unexpected happened. stratton guesses he fell more than a hu crashing into the snow. but get this--- he wasn't injured!
