I was just saying to you, do you feel the love, bringing you some measure of comfort, laila. I have been feeling the love before my father passed away. I can say, im obviously really sad. But i have been sad for a long time, just watching my father struggling with parkinsons disease. You hold your head up and saying hes doing great. I have comfort in knowing that hes not suffering anymore. Your father, the way he faced parkinsons so courageously. Can you share with us your final, your final moments with your dad . All of us kids you know, my father has nine children were at the hospital. All had the opportunity to be with him when he passed away. So, some you know, my sisters were saying islamic prayers. So, it was a very peaceful time and we sent him off in a very peaceful way and we were all there. That doesnt always happen, you know, when everybody has the opportunity to be there. Very important to have his family there by his bedside. When did you first realize that your father was more than a world champion, that he was beloved all around the world and had such a great power and influence over people . Well, from a very young age, you know everywhere we went, we got attention, my father loved attention. Made sure everybody stopped for him. I knew my dad was special speaking out for people who couldnt speak out for themselves. I have so much respect for him. You dont see that anymore, not only in athletes when i think of my father, i think of nelson mandela. He was a loving father youre a loving mother. Love the pictures you shared. What do you remember most . That was his last birthday. We all, again, luckily, all his kids and grandkids were there. We were with him in arizona and you know, he was brighteyed and alert. He had a really great day. You know, i cherish those moments. My daughter sydney has a really, really close attention to and you know, im always taking her to visit. Shes been saying since she was 3. So, im happy they were able to spend that time with him. Many of us remember that time, 6 olympics, 12 years since your father had been diagnosed with parkinsons disease, to see him light that flame, what strong message did that send to others, you think . Hes angel. Showing that strength that he still has. He embodies so much. It was all in that one moment. People werent expecting it. This man transcends everything there is and everybody just loves him. So, theres not anybody else like him. Your father is going to be remembered for many things. In his mentaloir he closed, he i guess id settle for being remembered only as a great boxer and a champion. Classic. Classic muhammad ali. Im glad you have those memories to cherish as many of us do. This judge accepted the Probation Departments recommendation of a sixmonth sentence and so when people are looking at this case, thinking about this case, getting angry about this case, its not just the judge its the Probation Department as well. Dan, i want to read part of what the victim said, the fact that brock was a prestigious shouldnt been an entitlement to leansy but an opportunity to send a message that Sexual Assault is against the law regardless of social class. We know the message was heard, it was viewed. Will anything be done with that . Her statement was so eloqu t eloquent. This case is getting so much attention because of her eloquence and her comments have been shared so much. So, i do think thats going to have an impact. I shi shes having an impact with her words, herred ed advocd her frustration at this sentence. This is one of those cases where it resonates beyond the courtroom where the impact can be felt in other courtrooms where people remember, remember that case about that stanford student, i think this one will have that kind of impact. So, we cut this so its right oops, were going to stick that in. Well take a little bit of buttercream, this is going to be the glue to make our tier stick together. So, im going to take this and each cake needs to have its own cardboard underneath. Okay, so we drop that on there. Now this things not going anywhere. Thats it. And not too much icing. Too much icing weighs it down and if youre using buttercream, refrigerate the cake periodically, that will firm up the butter in the buttercream. All right. Thank you. And we head into tomorrow, a reinforcing shot of cool airs going to be approaching, and that will bring a stray shower in the afternoon hours. But it will also usher in some breezy conditions and cooler temperatures for the middle of the week. Highs here only in the mid to upper 70s. Warmer, though, for the weekend. Well, jacqui, weve got tough times on the capital beltway. Had an Early Morning crash in Silver Spring impacting the outer loop drive all morning long. Getting into college park, you are going to be on the brakes all the way over to georgia avenue. Also dealing with remnants of a crash on the inner loop traveling through the lan ham area as you approach 50. 66 not too bad in this photo but we are seeing heavy traffic through centerville.
