' firsts betsy devos visit to a public school in washington, d.c. as secretary of education and it was supposed to be a low-key event. what happened is going viral. despite being sworn in and already on the job, secretary of education betsy devos' job is not getting easier. she was blocked from entering jefferson academy middle school. you can see in the video, the secretary tries to get in th physically and blocked out. >> she does not represent anything that they stand for. sam: protesters drove her all the way back to the car. >> shame! the school, more processors blocked the security detail from entering. one protesters screamed his foot had been run over. police grabbed and shoved the protesters out of the way. it is unclear what group these protesters are with but it is not the in the next 10 days, coming up. jummy: to a developing story now, a fire ripping through a home in northeast d.c. early this morning, one man and one woman both in critical condition at this hour. two firefighters were also injured. as john gonzalez reports, investigators are still searching for what started the blaze. maryland avenue was closed all morning long and is home that was gutted by the fire is nestled in between two centers, the pregnancy center the staff unable to get their employees and all morning long. take a look at the home. this fire started shortly before 5:00 this morning, and fire investigators and atf agents are going through the home at this hour. we now an adult man was found unconscious in the front yard when firefighters arrived. there was also a woman trapped inside in the basement of the home. both suffering smoke inhalation and burns and rushed to the hospital. we are now in critical condition. another man was in the home at the time and he was not injured. two firefighters also transported to the hospital with minor injuries. .> just sad hope that john is ok and anyone else who was in the house. john: how long have you lived here? >> i was here the search continues for a gas company employee still unaccounted for after an explosion sparked a fire at a pipeline in the louisiana. flames started around 7:00 last night. six people were working at the site when it caught fire, two taken to a hospital and one taken to a burn center. the pipeline was acting as a blow torch and it may take hours or days to completely burn off. >> the
