like a bomb exploded on bowed -- on board this bus. it started right here with this mustang. this school bus was traveling eased on frederick avenue in baltimore. it slammed into the back of this ford mustang, but it does not stop, it keeps going. it hit the concrete piling several hundred yards down. like a pinball, it bounces and continues across the street oncoming traffic. that is when it hit the mta bus, killing six people instantly. five people were on the mta bus, and the driver of the school bus was killed. no students were on the bus at the time, but there was a school bus aid among the injured. that person played a crucial role. in total, 10 people where taken to the hospital, their injuries critical. as of the 11:00 hour, rescuers had not made it all the way through that city bus, leaving the possibilities that there are still more victims inside. >> it literally looks like a bomb exploded in the bus. it is catastrophic damage. this was a major incident, and some seasoned individuals have said they he sam: the big question is, why the school bus did not stop. the ntsb has joined the investigation and will assist the baltimore city police department. we expect to learn the victims' identities later this afternoon. i want to send it over to suzanne kennedy, live at shock trauma with the rest of the story. suzanne: we concluded a briefing situation around 7:00 this morning when they started receiving patients. we are five miles from where the crash took place. half of the patients were transferred to this downtown hospital. there are five patients being treated at this hour. one is in critical, one in serious. three are listed as fair condition, considered stable. they do not know one man's age. there are four females, ranging from 20 to . tell us exactly because of privacy reasons, but she got us a sense of what they were treating this afternoon. >> there are generic injuries, from what we see in motor vehicle crashes. i cannot give details on specifics, but injuries to facial bones, to the spine, suzanne: there is never a good time for an accident like this, but it happened at a good time for the hospital. they were in the middle of a shift change, so they had their overnight doctors and nurses still on the scene. they were able to stand by in case they were needed, in case this was more of a mass casualty incident as they first thought it was. of those patients, they expect that two will be in the hospital overnight. one will be surgery. of the people being treated, one is the driver of the mustang, the first vehicle hit by the school bus. the other is the school bus aid. this is impacting the traffic situation in baltimore. for more on that, i send it over to jamie sullivan. jamie: we have closures in place, and you can expect they will be in place for most of the afternoon, as they already have yale avenue to old frederick road. you can take edmonson avenue -- edmonson avenue or wilkens avenue. we definitely do have gunshots. police are offering a reward for any information on this shooting. now to an update regarding the two teenagers killed outside the regency apartments in capitol heights. prince george's county police just made an announcement of an arrest in the case. >> i am happy to announce today that we have made an arrest in one of those two hom we have good, viable investigative leads that turn out to be a couple of different things going on on a second individual. we expect further arrests to bring this to a conclusion here shortly. jummy: we will have more on abc 7 news starting at 4:00. we moved to another developing story. police in montgomery county are investigating a second possible hate crime at a school in just painted swastikas at burning tree elementary school. a jewish congregation meets at that school. someone drew a similar image on a football field at quince orchard high school. there is no word on whether these are connected. we are just a week away from election day, and the justice department is now fast tracking its investigation into the hillary clinton's private server. clinton is filing -- linton is firing back. >> hillary clinton on her camp the nation's attention. murder charges dropped against ingmar kuan dk -- ingmar kuan deke -- chandra leavy's found in rock creek park. now prosecutors have been that woman. she joins us from new york. what has she found? debra: i tell you, this is worthy of a political thriller. we thought we knew what had happened in the chandra leavy case. gary condit has been linked to the case for so long. everyone had taken their eyes off of him. this illegal immigrant had been convicted of her murder. then suddenly this summer, the case was just dropped. everything has been blown open, and this woman of it. she has not spoken to anybody publicly before, certainly not on television. she tells how she somehow befriended the man who is the star witness in this case can't began -- in this case and began courting him because he was talking about harming somebody in her life. he started talking about the chandra leavy case, and leading her to believe that there was witness everybody thought, and prosecutors realized they did not have a credible witness and realized they did not have a case. we also talked with ingmar himself, the first time that he talked to anybody since the case blew open. we would hear what he has to say about his involvement in the case. he has maintained his innocence, but he talks about details of what led him to this park chandra levy was found, and what his
