Sam good afternoon, this is the busiest travel day of the year and security is tight at Union Station. Officers are already in place with automatic assaultstyle rifles. I think all of us recognize how horrific and heinous what took place in paris was. , the eventssterday touched a deep core given the connection between the United States and france. Thedegree to which americans see a way of life that is so familiar t us. Given the shocking images, i know that americans have been asking each other whether it is safe here, whether it is safe to fly. Another families have discussed their fears about the threats of terrorism around the dinner table, many for the First Time Since september 11. It is understandable that people worry. Parisng the events in made the threat feel closer to home. As we going to thanksgiving weekend, i want the American People to know that we are taking every possible step to keep our homeland safe. After isilre going wherever it hides. I will speak about this in more detail in the coming weeks. Let me remind you what our coalition is doing. Our partnersand have conducted more than 8000 airstrikes on strongholds and equipment. Along with ours partners on the ground have taken out key leaders and territory from isil in iraq and syria. We continue to choke off their financing and their recruitment in their messaging. Even as america is already supporting french airstrikes in syria. Yesterday, we agreed that our countries are going to step up that coordination even further and do more of that work together. We are stepping up the pressure where it lives. We will not let up. We will adjust until they are beaten. That is our first goal. Continue to do Everything Possible to prevent attacks at home and abroad and to prevent foreign terrorist fighters from entering. Since 9 11, we have taken extraordinary natures measures to strengthen Border Security and information. Upon theseroved actions overtime. Anytime there is an event, we learn something from it and we continue to refine it. We continue to improve upon approaches as we speak. Right now, we know of no specific and credible intelligence indicating a plot on the homeland. And that is based on the latest information i just received in the situation room. It is similar to the information, the briefing i received on saturday before i left on my trip last week. As americans travel this weekend to be with their loved ones, i want them to know that our counterterrorism, intelligence, and Law Enforcement are workings overtime to continually monitor threats at home and abroad. There continually evaluating our security posture. They are constantly working to protect all of us. Has prevented attacks. Their efforts have saved lives. They serve every hour of every day for the sake of our security. Without fanfare or credit and without a break for the holidays, they do the work. The bottom line is this. I want the American People to know that the combined resources of our military, our intelligence, and our Homeland Security these are on the case. They are vigilant, relentless, and effective. In the event of a specific credible threat, the public will be informed. Useful for it is people, as they are going about their business to be vigilant. Something suspicious, say something. That is always helpful. Goerwise, americans should about the usual thanksgiving weekend activities. Spending time with family and friends and celebrating our blessings. Of terrorism is a troubling reality of our age, we are both equipped to prevent attacks and we are resilient in the face of those who would try to do us harm. That is something we can all be thankful for. Happy thanksgiving, everybody.
