They look at the old trees scarred by the highspeed impact and remember the young faces. Jacob dennis, Patrick Shifflett and cary greene. All juniors at clarksburg high, all killed in the latenight collision. These guys were great men. They were leaders on the team on and off the field. They were role models. Kevin, such a sad beginning to what should have been a celebration. Kevin yeah. Administrators really had to walk a fine line today. On one hand they wanted to honor the lives of the three teenagers but on the other hand they wanted to make sure the Commencement Ceremonies were kept upbeat and positive. At 10 00, this morning, 400 Clarksburg High School seniors filed the Athletic Complex at mount st. Marys university. The principal made remarks about jacob dennis, Patrick Shifflett and cary greene and then caused for a moment of silence. Dennis and shifflett were on the clarksburg varsity football team. Shifflett was a defensive end and an a guard. Greene played attending Damascus High School in freshman and sophomore years and he transferred to clarksburg this year. The principal knew all three young men well. I was the principal of Rocky Hill Middle School when they were in middle school so i have known them since they were 11 years old. Its very difficult. The students will return tomorrow. The grief counselors will be on hand. In the last hour we have learned that a candlelight vigil will take place tonight at 7 30. Memorial day was the start deadliest days of the year. More than 1,000 people are killed over that stretch in crashes involving teenage drivers. That is an average over five years. According to the data compiled by the National Traffic Highway Safety administration, more than half of those killed were teens. Longer in the area . That is right. Investigators say it happened around 12 30 this afternoon. Witnesses tell me they heard six gunshots in rapid succession. They looked outside and saw the victims body here. There was no noise, no shouting or altercation before they heard the gunshot sound. Police responded to several 911 calls. Found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a nearby hospital. Pronounced dead an hour later around 1 30 p. M. There is no victim i. D. At this point yet. They are still trying to notify family members but say he is in his late 20s. We understand any acts of violence in a community are going to cause some concerns and so we will be in the community. We will ensure that we continue to be here to let the Community Know we will do whatever it takes to not only bring this person to justice who committed this act but to ensure they feel safe in the community. The word is four people were killed in a shooting in central tel aviv in a market there, that is widely known of the Largest Shopping Center in the area in tel aviv. We hear this is described by the police as being aimed specifically against israelis. At least five are wounded. Two are in serious or severe conditions in hospitals right now. Police are telling us that at least two terrorists have b caught or neutralized, which means they were killed or detained. No word on the type of the number of the weapons used. There is no discussion about whether or not automatic weapons were used. The two attackers are described being cousins from the hebron area and they were known to israeli authorities. They have been described in one case that at least one of the attackers was disguised as ultra orthodox jew. Police are searching the area to make sure there are no other attackers. Sam the jurors found Jermaine Hailes guilty of firstdegree murder. Court papers say he shot and robbed pate at the Capital Heights building in what was to be the sale of half a pound of marijuana.
