indeed! we have new information in the death of a maryland boy. a judge in ohio says kurt flood is incompetent to stand trial. he is accused of killing cameron beckford in 2014. the 1-year-old's body was found in a bag in a creek. they are treating him at psychiatric hospital. the mother pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and tampering with evidence. jonathan: police in alexandria are investigating the city's first murder of the year there. john abizaid found in the -- abrahu found tuesday night. police say he died this morning. they don't have a suspect but they are looking. alison: in the last 15 minutes, virginia state police wrapped up a news conference about a shooting that killed one of their own. we learn that there is surveillance video of the attack the killed trooper kentucky chad dermeyer. this was at a greyhound station in richmond. we are live with the latest today. jeff? jeff: we got a lot of information in the state police. the press conference is going on now. a lot of information about the suspect. identified today as 34-year-old james brown of aurora, illinois. yesterday he was carrying a 40-caliber beretta with 143 unspent rounds of ammunition. this was bought legally but it was not purchased by james brown. this is a photo. 34-year-old james brown died in the shooting yesterday. he has a long criminal history. the shooting happening at the greyhound bus station 3:45 yesterday afternoon. 2:45 rather. dermeyer one of the 16 state troopers taking part in training exercise at the station. they say that brown pulled out a gun and shot the officer multiple time. the officer and james brown was rushed to the medical center and both later died. you can see mr. dermeyer a former marine who leaves behind a wife and two young children. more now on the suspect james brown. >> i am con everyone ised that he is able to obtain a gun. we know that the gun was bought over a year ago. it was not bought by brown. it's troubling he would have a gun. it's troubling that he is out having history that he has. alison: there are many suspects about james brown and how he obtained a firearm. 143 rounds of unspent ammunition in his possession. they have looked at the surveillance video from inside the bus station. a lot of investigating to do with the particular crime. it's been revealed today two other women were injured in the incident yesterday. they have been identified. no but a 21-year-old woman from new york and a 47-year-old woman from north carolina. both just passing through that greyhound authorities believe the pictures of the older model red vehicle lights on in one shot. sunroof. grayish marking on the driver side doors, probably body work had been done on the red vehicle. you are urged to contact authorities immediately. they certainly want to close this ca korff. alison: new information tonight after a stabbing at the addison road. the suspect brown is under arrest. he faces attempted murder and assault charges after incident at the addison road metro station yesterday morning. police say brown was there handing out newspapers when he got in an argument with another man. today, d.c. mayor muriel bowser is banning official government travel to north carolina. many grew this ban as discriminatory to the lgbt community. mayor bowser will discuss this ban at 5:00. >> you are going to fix your mess. and there are people protesting the law allison was talking about and they converting the bathroom to the unsex in protest. alison: some say the measure that would allow rouslious institutions, government employees and the businesses to deny services to people. based on personal belief. many fear the impact it will have on the hiring and the keeping employees. jonathan: breaking news out of the district that affects tourists in town. washington monument closed for the second time in a week and the national park service says it will stay closed tomorrow as well. kevin lewis joining us live from the national mall to explain why. this is a a big draw for tourists to enj people. the weather is beautiful today so there were ton of people on the national mall. a number of passengers stepped off the elevator to the small museum below the main observation deck. the lift malfunctioned. but unlike earlier no were trapped inside the elevator. they did have for him outside the car. they swarm him. i took 30 police officers to put handcuffs on this guy. they handcuffed him and took him away. watch how many officers are all over the place for this not sure
