Close by a commuter bus slammed into the front of this deli miraculously nobody was injured. On long island, that same snow immobilizing this mail truck. You know, the details of Philip Seymour hoffmans recent life paint a picture of a man in conflict, but new information revealed this morning may place investigators one step closer to finding out what really happened in the hours before his death. This morning, police tried to piece together Philip Seymour hoffmans final days. Dont make me out to be the evil brother as putting away our father against your will. Reporter there were roughly 70 baggies of heroin in his apartment. Five of them used. Police discovered used syringes and numerous prescription drugs including anxiety medication and muscle relaxers. Police are looking for the person who sold him those drugs scouring his cell phone for clues. The wall street journal reports that hoffmans estranged girlfriend saw him and spoke to him the day before he died and that he appeared high. Hoffmans death striking a chord around the country. Even the white house weighing in. Its hard to imagine if you are a fan of incredibly powerful acting that you werent a fan of Philip Seymour hoffman who was just a remarkable talent. How he was caught and how he pulled off the escape in the first place. Reporter this morning, convicted killer Michael David elliot is back behind bars captured by deputies in la porte, indiana, pulling him over because the car he was driving matched the description of the stolen vehicle. I knew he wasnt going to make the turn so he ended up going in a snow bank. Reporter he escaped monday night. A vehicle with an armed officer came as close as 20 feet to the prisoner but didnt notice him. It appears he took a uniform from a prisoner who was working in the kitchen and so that white uniform that he was wearing allowed him to blend in with snow on the ground. Reporter he was convicted of killing four people in 1993 and was serving a life sentence. Police say after his escape he carjacked and abducted the woman driving this jeep and drove to indiana stopping for gas where he was captured on surveillance cameras. She asked to use a bathroom and calmly made this call to 911 from behind the locked door. Im being held im hostage to an escaped convict from the ionia correctional facility. Elliot took off. A small plane crashed in nashville killing the four people on board. All believed to be from the same family.
