Firefighters were called out to the scene of two house fires in the sherman park neighborhood early thursday morning, august 18th. Crews responded to the area of 33rd and hadley around 5 a. M. Out in a vacant home and then spread to a home with four occupants. This is the third fire in the area this week. No Additional Details have been released including the cause of the fire or the amount of damage sustained. Because it was vacant when it started, it mightve been burning for a while then when you saw the started, it mightve been burning for a while then when you saw the flames it mightve been really burning on the inside so thats why it might have seemed like there were a lot of flames. But there wasnt anything else that was in there that was special or anything else new details are still trickling out about the officerinvolved shooting that sparked the unrest last weekend. Now the Waukesha CountySheriffs Office says the gun held by Sylville Smith may have been stol genessee back in march. They are tracing the gun using its serial number. But sheriffs officials tell us they dont know if smith was the one who actually stole the gun or if he bought it from someone else. Weve also learned Sylville Smith did not attend the same high school as the officer. At least, thats what the officers family tells fox 6 investigator bryan polcyn. The 24yearold Police Officer is a 3 year veteran of the force who because the shooting investigation is ongoing and he has not been accusing of any wrongdoing in the death of 23 yearold Sylville Smith. On monday, smiths sister claimed that the officer and her brother were well acquainted. This boy knew my brother personally. From high school. They knew each other. The officers family now tells fox 6 news the two never went to high school together. Smith went to pulaski high school. And the officer attended w. E. B. Dubois on the campus of marshall Milwaukee Public Schools tells fox 6 they have no records that indicate the two attended the same high school at any time. Meanwhile, the family says they are concerned for the officers safety, as social media threats against him are mounting. Milwaukee Police Issued a statement noting a disturbing National Trend in cases of deadly use of force where users of social media have threatened the officers and their families, and demonized them. The Police Department says it is aware of some general threats to in the newsroom, bryan polcyn, fox 6 investigators. Several officers were hurt over the weekend. Some hit by concrete others by broken glass. Two teenagers were shot. That includes 18yearold ben olson. He describes the moment a bullet pierced his neck. I just felt impact out of nowhere.
