in milwaukee...crews got an early start clearing snow...but today conditions could still be icy. deandra corinthios is live off i-94 in west allis with the latest no traces of snow left on the interstate but you could sitll find some slick spots. in milwaukee...102 salt trucks were deployed sunday...to make this morning's commute a bit easier. milwaukee dpw crews pre-treated the roads saturday, then, the salt trucks throughout the day, tackling secondary roads in the late afternoon and evening. there were a few crashes...including this one on northbound i-41 north of highway 60. a wisconsin state patrol trooper's squad was struck by a vehicle. thankfully he's going to be okay... most drivers though say they had no issues getting around. "the roads were a little bit of water little it of moisture on seemed like the salt trucks had been out a little bit" dpw reminds drivers to give other drivers and plows plenty of room on the roads. live in west allis dc fox6 news. breaking news this morning - president elect donald trump... expected to nominate ben carson to serve as secretary of housing and urban development. the secretary of housing and urban development oversees federal public housing pro homelessness and housing discrimination. carson reportedly declined an offer for secretary of health and human services last month... but last week said he felt he could make a significant contribution by strengthening urban communities. in a statement... mr. trump said "ben carson has a brilliant mind and is passionate about strengthening communities and families within those communities.' new overnight - police are investigating a shooting on milwaukee's north side. officials say a 25-year-old man the 25-year-old did shoot at the teen as well - but we're told the teen was not injured and remained on scene to talk to investigators. the 25 year old was taken to the hospital and is expected to be ok. a judge has ordered a hand recount of michigan's presidential results to begin today. this as more than 1 million ballots in wisconsin have now been reported to the state of wisconsin. angelica joins us in the newsroom with the latest. of the 59 counties that have reported some or all of their results, president- elect donald tr clinton. six counties have finished their recounts -- none in our area. in racine county, election inspectors are now just about halfway-through the count. mr trump won wisconsin by more than 22-thousand votes. the recount continues after a federal judge refused to immediately stop it on friday. the judge has scheduled a hearing for this friday to consider the request from two pro-trump groups. a recount of michigan's will begin today at noon. the move increases the chances that the state could complete the count ahead of a december 13th deadline. jill stein's lawyers argued that waiting until wednesday would cut it too close. this happening as the green party is trying to force a federal court order for a statewide recount in pennsylvania. officials are posting daily updates of wisconsin's recount. you can track the developments on our website -- fox six now dot com, or your fox six news mobile app. green... gold... and white - as snow falls down... as packers earn a second win in a row. the game started out with a few turnovers..but the pack able to pull it together. quarterback aaron rodgers and jordy nelson connected multiple times during the game...including for a touchdown. the final score ended up being 21 to 13. the green and gold are now 6 and 6. and one of milwaukee's own... will be inducted into baseball's hall of fame. the doors open for 82 year old bud selig the brewers founder and former commissioner said it's hard to believe! brewers owner mark attanasio pitches in that the commissioner emeritus' contributions to the game he loves are--quote--"monumen tal". president elect donald trump... now expanding his search for secretary of state. who he's talking to... coming up. and a big win for protesters of the dakota access pipeline project. what the army is now refusing to do. and police... now launching a criminal investigation into a deadly warehouse fire. why so many people were in the building before the fire began... straight ahead. "21:53 you dont want anyone to slip and fall so i just came out a little earlier to try and get it up, put a little salt down to keep everybody safe 22:00" if you run into a plow this morning be sure to give them plenty of space. at six...a reminder for driver's...from the state trooper whose squad was hit fox6 news looking ahead - the jury trial for one of the men arrested in connection to a shootout on i-43 last year... will begin. martez maclin-dyson was arrested following the incident last december... along with 2 other people- corey campbell and lance lewis. connection with three previous shootings-- including the murder of tony vance in november of last year. the trial is expected to get underway at 9 a-m. developing right now - a plan is in the works to redevelop the area around the long-dormant northridge mall site on milwaukee's north side. alderwoman chantia lewis, who took office in april, announced a partnership between the department of city development and u-w-milwaukees community solutions group. their goal is to think 'outside of the box' when it comes to redeveloping the north side. many businesses have left or 76-th and brown deer road...including target, pick n save, half priced books and aldis. lewis calls the northridge site the 'gem' of all plans going forward... but it could also be the citys biggest stumbling block: the facility is privately owned by a chinese company. the city and other stakeholders will have to work around the owners current plans for their property... which include the opening of a chinese market. chantia lewis, milwaukee alderwoman cl 'we want to see something out of the box. we dont want to do with the same old same old.' for years... but has never materialized. the u-s army corps of engineers now says it's denying a permit for the pipeline to cross under a sacred source of water for the standing rock sioux tribe. the company behind the pipeline is slamming the obama administration for the decision... with support from house speaker paul ryan. the wisconsin congressman... tweeting : "this is big-government decision-making at its worst. i look forward to putting this anti-energy presidency behind us." tweeting his support for thousands of pipeline protesters... saying "in 2016, we should not continue to trample on native american sovereignty. and we should not become more dependent on fossil fuels." renters beware! if you're looking for a new place-- be on the lookout for potential scams! contact 6 spoke with one landlord who discovered someone else was advertising his apartment for rent! jenna sachs reports. this is a dining area. chris tanke owns a four unit apartment in west allis. i recently painted the kitchen. he's looking to rent out this apartment ... so he posted an ad on craiglist. weeks later ... tanke discovered he wasn't the only person advertising his unit. it was a carbon copy of the ad that i put out. a scammer had taken his craigslist ad... copied it ... and re-posted it ... with a few changes. contact information. the price was 300 to 400 dollars less than what i was tanke immediately flagged the scammer's post ... and took down his own ad. he even sent a message to the scammer ... asking if the apartment had been taken. he got a response ... telling him the apartment ... was still available. i asked to see it and they did not respond to that but apparently they have responded to other folks. contact 6 emailed the scammer ... and got a response from someone claiming to be "homer martinez" in chicago. ... but it says homer's husband is being transferred to west africa ... and they're looking for "a clean and reliable person to take care of the home." i'm told i can drive by the address ... and if i like it ... they'll sent me an application. i send an email back asking to talk on the phone ... and get no response. tanke says he just wants buyers and renters to know ... this could happen to them. if this can help somebody to not fall for a scam, that's the reason i did it. if you're looking to rent an apartment ... never deal with a person who won't talk with you on the phone ... or won't let you tour the apartment before you put money down. when checking out an apartment ... take a friend or a out. i'm jenna sachs. contact 6. contact 6 reached out to craigslist for comment on this story ... but did not hear back. join fox six for a special coats for kids collection this wednesday. our tom wachs will be at the steinhafels in waukesha -- collecting coats of all sizes -- new or gently used. the first 200 people todo four coats will get a pair of ticket vouchers to see the harlem globetrotters on new years eve at the bmo harris bradley center find more details on our website fox6now.com. straight ahead- details on the holiday train's return to southeast wisconsin. plus -
