6 children after a structure fire near 29th and lisbon. no word yet as to what may have started that fire or if anyone was injured. stay with fox 6 and fox 6 now dot com for the latest updates. happening tonight - the first presidential debate will kick off at 8. angelica duria has the latest from the newsroom. a new washington post poll shows hillary clinton and donald trump are virtually tied... at roughly 46 percent support for clinton... 44 for trump. seen the gap between the two candidates close in recent weeks... such as pennsylvania... where polls show clinton at 40 percent and trump at 38. and here in wisconsin.... a marquette law school poll shows hillary clinton's leading donald trump by just two percent in wisconsin. the washington post reports 8 in 10 voters say they plan to watch the debate... with as many as 100-million total preparing to watch. the debate begins at 8 tonight at hofstra university in long presidential debate-- stick with fox6! our coverage starts tonight at 8 o'clock. voting for the november election gets underway today in milwaukee. and this year...the city's election commission is offering more opportunities to voters. deandra corinthios is live from the zeidler building downtown with more. starting today at 10 am...milwaukee residents who are already registered to vote...can come to the zeilder building...and cast their ballot for the presidential race. for the next two weeks...early votingwi the zeidler building. then starting october 10... voters will also be able to go to the midtown shopping center on the north side and the forest home library on the south side. the city is expecting between 3 thousand and five thousand people per day at these sites. earlier this year -- a federal judge struck down certain voting restrictions -- saying it'll give voters more time to cast their ballot. so city of milwaukee officials were able to offer expanded early voting early voting hours...versus 110 in the 2014 general election. that is a 600 percent increase. now the only restriction on early in-person voting is that it can't occur on the monday before the election early voting hours this week are 10 am to 6 pm monday through friday at the zeilder building. remember...the voter i-d law is in effect. reporting live in milwaukee dc fox6 news. 9-year- old accidentally shot by his 6-year- old brother last week. the 6-year-old's father now faces two charges in the case...and is in custody. 39-year-old dominique phillips faces two charges -- including possession of a firearm by a felon...and leaving a loaded firearm near a child. 30-year-old nicole jackson has also been charged for leaving a loaded firearm out. she appeared in court over the weekend. a criminal complaint says this may have not been the first time the 6-year-old had his hands on the of the men charged in connection with laylah petersen's death will stand trial today. petersen is the 5-year-old girl who was shot inside her home in november of 2014. police say 21-year-old carl barrett junior and arlis gordon were looking for revenge and opened fire on the wrong house. their alleged getaway driver has also been charged. barrett's trial is scheduled to begin this morning at 8:15. also happening today - milwaukee mayor tom barrett's expected to unveil his vision for the city's upcoming budget... and we're already getting an idea of what to expect. manufacturing sector known as "century city" is expected to be a focal point of the mayor's budget. fox6 is looking into why the northside complex will be so significant. we'll have more on that at 6:30. the packers bounce back from a rough game against the vikings... to defeat the detroit lions in green bay... for the home opener. the packers won 34 to 27... and yes... it was a close game at the end. the team now has a bye week... before playing against the new york giants at lambeau field on october 9th. we'll give you a full breakdown win... at 6:30. new this morning - a triple murder investigation... leads to three arrests - but was a missing teenager one of the people who wound up behind bars? the twisted case - coming up. "rev group" is one of just 6 finalists-- and they've already been selected to build prototypes. and if the milwaukee company wins the bid-- it could lead to roughly two thousand jobs. was tazed after he tried to run from a traffic stop. it happened la layton earlier this month. in his car, police found a stolen pistol that appeared to be modified for smoking crack cocaine. last month, collado was arrested near city hall-- accused of threatening the mayor. police say when he was taken into custody-- he was carrying a bag with an ax inside. one of the men charged in connection with laylah petersen's death will stand trial today. petersen is the 5-year-old girl who was shot inside her home in november of 2014. police say 21-year-old carl barrett junior and arlis gordon fire on the wrong house. their alleged getaway driver has also been charged. barrett's trial is scheduled to begin this morning at 8:15. also today -
