this corner for many years with never an incident. monday morning that changed. milwaukee police were called here for a person shot in the chest. the person died soon after. corona jewelry buys gold and is a money transfer store. it's pretty well protected in there. it's glass and its some of its fortified glass which gives the owners some safeguards . i don't know the details of what milwaukee alderman jose perez says the business recently transferred ownership. he considered it a strong part of a vital commercial district. they've been here . they've been working for a while and managing it. finally had the business in their name a surveillance video captured a picture of a man police say is the suspect. they are looking or him and are asking anyone with information to call them. we've put a lot of work into the infrastructure around here to keep it safe and this is extremely unfortunate and my heart goes out to the family. once again you know him police would like to hear from you. milwaukee police say the victim is an adult male. they are still investigating why this happened. live in milwaukee myra sanchick fox6 news a 73-year-old pleasant prairie man is accused of sexually assaulting a 50-year-old woman - suffering from huntington's disease at an assisted liv criminal complaint -- a nursing assistant spotted clarence mielke -- an employee at the facility -- inappropriately touching the victim and reported it to police. authorities say the victim told them it had been going on for years -- and mielke told her to keep it a secret. he is now charged with four felonies. now in a story only on fox6... struck by a car -- then run over. a woman on milwaukees southside is desperately looking for the driver who hit her. that happened over the weekend near 20th and morgan. thankfully she is alive to tell her story and make a plea for the driver to come forward. she says she was hit as she tried to cross morgan. the accident happened so quickly. but her recovery-- will not. im feeling really awful bedridden since saturday evening. i have to keep it elevated renee anderson is wearing a leg cast bones in her leg. the pain was overwhelming ...wounded after going for a walk near her home. she says she was crossing morgan avenue when she was struck and run over by a car with no lights on . i fell and then my one leg here i was kneeling on it and trying to get back up and their back tires ran over my another car coming because i couldnt move bystanders rushed to help.. but the driver-- i seen their brakes lights and they just took off really fast neighbors caught a vague description. the witnesses said it was a gray 4 door car but they couldnt get the license plate we stopped by nearby business and homes but there was no surveillance pointing in that direction. anderson hopes the driver is found or thing: i wish they would turn themselves in ... and while she waits for a resolution, anderson says she's trying to stay positive. im trying to think of myself as a survivor not a victim anderson does have a long journey to recovery. she ?has muscular dystrophy so her muscles will not heal easily. that-- coupled with three job interviews she has had to cancel -- this is impacting her in many ways. milwaukee police say they are but do not have anyone in custody. live.. you decide coverage now. the wisconsin photo id law continues to be a source of confusion for voters across wisconsin. and with election days 8 days away - state and local officials want to make sure voters know exactly what they need to cast their ballot. fox6's madeline anderson joins us live at city hall... with more on their efforts. buses reminding people to bring a photo id to the polls. and the county courthouse will issue replacement birth certificates for folks born in milwaukee county if they no longer have theirs and need it to be able to get a state issued photo id. these are just some of the steps the county and city are taking to education voters this election cycle. more than 465-thousand people percent of them were cast in person at early voting sites... like here at the zeidler building in downtown milwaukee. i brought my wisconsin id. they look you up. see what ward youre in. the process is no more than five minutes. but the process isn't so easy for some. there's still confusion about what qualifies as an acceptable photo id under the photo i-d law. we have worked with individuals, residents within the city, that have not incomplete messages.at a news conference monday.. elections officials explained... a photo id can be a wisconsin drivers license... a wisconsin d-o-t issued card or a u-s passport. dont' have any of those? there is still time to get one at the dmv. just bring whatever identifying documents you have like a birth certificate and proof of your current address. some misconceptions under the law... the address on the id does not have to match id does not have to be the exact same as the one on the poll list. new this year for folks mailing in their absentee ballots... the post office suggests doing so at least a week before november 8th. this is the first election where absentee ballots must be received by election day. if the poll worker says you do not have an acceptable i-d -- you can cast a provisional ballot. th to the municipal clerk by 4-p-m on the following friday november 11th with an acceptable id. reporting live at city hall... madeline anderson fox6 news. mary thanks madeline with a little more than a week before the election... millions of campaign dollars are ?now pouring into wisconsin... much of that cash is aimed at the u-s senate race between incumbent republican ron johnson -- and democrat russ feingold. it's one of the key races nationwide that will play a big majority control of the senate... as the cash pours in, the race seems to be getting more negative by the day. political reporter theo keith joins us with the latest accusations. feingold is returning cash donations from a massachusetts law firm accused of giving bonuses to employees who contributed to politicians like feingold. but let's start with johnson, who is responding an offshore tax haven. nats - going through the doorhe said he had to leave, but senator ron johnson eventually did answer questions about his part ownership of an irish company. democrats say d-p lenticular is a shell company, allowing johnson to divert profits from the oshkosh plastics manufacturer he owned until 2010, to ireland, where the tax rate is lower. johnson says it's a legitimate sales agency. senator feingold has no clue how is how you export product. without a sales agency i dont know how you sell product. by the way, those exports produced, created jobs in wisconsin manufacturing johnson has reported a 9.9 percent stake in d-p lenticular.he says he makes less than 15- thousand dollars a year from it and pays state and federal taxes on the earnings. i have a small investment. theres no, no profit parked over there or anything else. those profits are paid out every year. and pay taxes on them :58johnson's opponent, russ feingold, is dealing with questions himself. feingold's campaign says it will return 45-thousand dollars in donations from a boston law firm that reportedly awarded bonuses to employees who gave to democratic causes. according to the center for responsive politics, feingold was a top recipient of thornton law firm donations. a feingold spokesman told fox6, "this campaign does not tolerate this kind of activity and is disturbed to learn of these returned immediately." if theres any question at all about contributions, i dont want to have anything to do with it. late today, wisconsin republicans asked federal regulators to investigate how much feingold knew about thornton's practices. such requests often go nowhere, especially a week before election day. as election day approaches -- both presidential campaigns will be focusing on wisconsin as well... candidate tim kaine will be in appleton and madison tomorrow. then senator bernie sanders will be in milwaukee at turner hall on wednesday... chelsea clinton will also be in wisconsin -- wednesday, in eau claire and oshkosh -- followed by a stop in milwaukee on thursday. as for republicans... presidential nominee donald trump and his running mate mike pence will both be in eau claire tomorrow for a campaign event. governor ?scott walker is expected to ?join them. we have links to where you can get tickets to these events on our website, fox still have questions about the voting process?
