'had he stayed there... this may not have been a criminal charge or at least not as serious as it is now.' liddell has seven prior convictions of driving on suspended license. hes due back in court next man tomorrow? a judge has ordered he be released. and we now we know where he'll go when he's out. our ben handelman, with the state's last ditch effort to keep him locked up. the watch is on at the columbia correctional facility in portage. will brendan dassey leave here a free man or stay locked up? dassey's conviction for his role in the murder of teresa halbach-- chronicled in the hit netflix docu-series making a murderer-- was thrown out. monday a judge ordered he be released. the state is fighting ac by wisconsin attorney general brad schimel, he's asked to court to keep dassey locked up, until the state's appeal can be heard in a federal courtroom. this while the process for dassey's release moves forward. his lawyers turned in what they are calling dassey's "comprehensive release plan." attorney's say dassey will live with his mother in a trailer for the next three months 100 miles away from manitowoc. he'll take educational classes and job training with the goal of working lawyers say dassey would like to volunteer at an animal shelter and take group therapy with his family. probation agents could approve his release plan as early as wednesday. the state is hoping the same judge who determined dassey must be let go--- will change his mind. so, our cameras will be outside the prison in portage tomorrow. the state has asked their request to keep him locked up be decided by 4 p-m. dassey's uncle-- steven avery is serving a life sentence. he's hoping a judge will hear his appeal. guys. the next 41 years in prison. police say brandon newson was just 17 years old when his crime spree began. he was charged with 7 carjackings-- affecting 10 victims in just a week's time. newson was released from lincoln hills juvenile corrections in february. these crimes were committed just three months later-- in may. e-s-p-n is reporting that the owned by president-elect donald trump. sources tell the network the bucks are among three n-b-a teams to make the decision. they say the team has already made other arrangements when traveling to chicago and new york. we've reached out to the bucks for confirmation-- but we have not heard back. meanwhile in washington-- house speaker paul ryan will keep his title. today -- the wisconsin congressman was reelected to a second term. stephanie grady joins us in studio tonight with more... it was a unanimous vote by the keep in mind -- the official vote will come in early january, when the next session of congress begins. there was some question whether or not the re-election would be smooth. at times-- ryan had a somewhat rocky relationship with now-president-elect donald trump during the campaign. the speaker spoke earlier today about the importance of working together with the incoming president. rep. paul ryan: "we're working hand-in-glove from the start. we want to make sure that we hit the ground running in january so that we can deliver on the new president's days, lie ahead for our country." meanwhile -- governor scott walker is taking over as the new chairman of the republican governors association. governor walker will spend the next year laying the groundwork for 38 gubernatorial races slated for 2018. just hearin' his name will make you smile! donald driver has been elected to the packers hall of fame--class of 2 thousand 17! from the way driver responded you'd have thought the call canton--and it still might some day. tom pipines caught up with the fan favorite today. donald driver was elected on the first ballot..which the franchise's all-time leading receiver says he'll cherish forever. from running the streets of houston to running with the packers greatest...heady stuff. a look at home surveillance enforcement's best tools. surveillance cameras are often found protecting banks--- and stores. a growing number of homeowners are getting in on the technology. our ben handelman shows us how the cameras are more affordable than you might think. when people are acting badly-- catching crooks on camera is nothing convenience stores. at the milwaukee police department, there is an entire youtube channel dedicated to sharing surveillance video. suspects in armed robberies--- and burglaries are posted weekly hoping you can identify the culprits. ultimately if a crime does occur, this is a pretty significant tool for us. captain heather wurth says often times--- these videos--- help lead to arrests and convictions. robbery that had occurred. screen shots shared from a video helped lead the arrest of two suspects, wanted for badly beating and robbing a man. cameras are advancing to be much more powerful and have much greater resolution. one of the men's father saw the shots--- and knew immediately his son was involved. he did the right thing and turned him in. in this particular case, they had really outstanding video. more and more-- police say it's not just businesses with high quality cameras. nowadays we consider all of the cameras on the cameras. which means you can use them in court. ron ingram is a manager at milwaukee security systems. he says-- a growing number of homes-- are joining in. people have always called, since day 1 to get cameras at their home. but when it used to cost $1,000 per camera people have bills to pay that come way before the cameras for their house. now that its no longer that expensive, people are doing it. ingram--- showing us a system he's set up at his own home. 5 years ago a camera that was hd was close to $1,000. now? now its closer to 150 to $200 dollars. some cameras go for 100 dollars ingram's company encourages customers to do it themselves. as long as you can run a wire to a-b, mount the 4 screws, youre set. these cameras have gotten so good and are so helpful, one police department is helping you get them. it is probably law enforcements most powerful tool. at the greenfield police department-- they are sharing their own videos-- they decided to fight back. they were tired of it. homeowners sick of getting things stolen installed cameras-- you can see in the van, as they are hammering away, they are trying to start this car. convictions. greenfield police say soon-- they'll be handing out cameras for free. its ring. its a real cost effective way to give you some, protection at your house. maybe you've seen their commercials. assistant police chief david patrick says the department hopes to deliver cameras to homeowners in problem spots. we have a supply on hand that we're going to ask the citizens to install. sensors go off. alerts are sent right to your phone, you can even talk remotely to the person at your house. those not eligible for free cameras, can still get a discount. at full price--- ring cameras are less than 200 dollars. were always looking for any bits of evidence we can find. greenfield police are hoping those with cameras go a step further, the city just launched an interactive real-time crime map on its website. they're hoping those with home surveillance register cameras the public can't see them, but if there's a crime near your house, police will know they can ask for help. maybe your camera will catch bad guys in the act. maybe they'll deter them from coming at all. now that they're more affordable, law enforcement is hopeful they'll see one at your house soon. having everybody own cameras, that would be awesome. wed live in a safer world. absolutely we would. ben handelman--- fox 6 or learning more about the discounts available to greenfield residents?
