1-2 inches possible by tonight. most locations will get on in on one inch and two inches in the northern counties, especially around southern wisconsin gusts lake side in the neighborhood of 30-35 miles per hour. slick roads with the wet leaves. north we are getting the heavy rain right now. slipping south into northern parts of sheboygan county. dodge and fond du lac getting med rattly wet. we have a call in and half inch of rain in brookfield the rain in place for much of the day and heaviest in place for this morning. so wipers slower speeds this morning and the temperatures holding in the mid to upper 40s and around 50 for most. we are looking at rain cooled air holding in the 40s for the morning. jeremy nelson is feeling the wind closer to lake michigan this morning. we have a driving rain right now in shorewood and the winds are gusting 25-35 miles per hour. a lot of trees have dropped the leaves, well, that means a lot of wet roads and slick conditions because the leaves are lining the roadways. the drains have issues getting the water down. wet pavement greeting you morning. for today, with over an inch of rain expected, a little ponding on the roads, especially near the drains. if you are getting outside of your home, you know where there is a drain. maybe brush some of the leaves away. as you are travelling into work or school, a lot of leaves on the road. they can slicken up the road a little bit and needs to increase your stopping distances and head again, miserable out here, the winds gusting to 25 miles per hour. and a steady rain. you want the sturdy morning commute, back to you. ben: thank you, matt. ben: right now, streets in a homicide. it happened near 19th and capitol. video is up on the screen from the scene. police say a man was found shot to death just after 9:00 last night. investigators are still looking for whomever pulled the trigger. this is just the latest homicide in milwaukee. there were four on monday alone. here's a map showing the locations, milwaukee has now had 116 murders this year. there were 123 at this time last ye melinda: fighting back against heroin addiction. that's the goal of a summit in racine county today. the summit will look at how heroin addiction affects families in racine county. people who attend will hear from the racine county sheriff and district attorney and more. the sheriff says all residents over 13 are invited. the summit starts at 6:00 p.m. at union grove high school. ben: addiction is a growing problem in a lot of communities, including waukesha county. tim, you were part of an tim: i was, we read about the overdoses on the news. it was important and informative and really eye-opening, ben. it was proud to emcee stairway to heroin. it took place at waukesha south high school. the event helped raise awareness about drug use and abuse, specifically the heroin epidemic that has gripped too many neighborhoods across the country, but it wasn't just about heroin, we discussed other drugs including prescription painkillers. there were several speakers there last night to talk about a local emergency room doctor told us about the overdoses he's seen and a detective spoke to the crowd about what he's seeing on the streets. according to the doctor there last night, painkillers and heroin act in the exact same way when it comes to effecting the brain. he wants people to remember, pain won't kill you but pain killers will. back to you. 6:35. melinda: right now, a woman in milwaukee has some questions for police in mount pleasant. the woman's van was stolen back in 2012. she never heard anything about it until last week. that's when mount pleasant police contacted her asking her to pick up the van. apparently the people who stole the van told police it was theirs and it was impounded after more crimes were committed. >> we took the van as evidence of the crime because they were felonies. it was melinda: the woman says she reported the theft to police, but for some reason, no police report was ever filed. so mount pleasant police had no way of knowing it was stolen. it's not clear though why it took four years to get it back to the rightful melinda: the illegal selfie was taken inside a prison with an inmate. the picture shows actor omari hardwick with a suspected drug trafficker. hardwick was inside the county jail in new york filming iraqi troops are now within ten miles of mosul and getting closer every day. isis has control of mosul in northern iraq. iraqi and kurdish forces are working together to take back the city. they're reclaiming villages along the way forcing isis out. within the city, resistance fighters are battling isis militants. u.s. defense secretary ash carter is already looking ahead syrian city, the u.s. may be able to recover the remains of hostages who were murdered by isis, but for now, the focus is on mosul and the battles going on there. ben, over to you. ben: new this morning, a driver loses control and runs into a retirement home in california. that crash killed a 96-year-old man who was sleeping inside the home. police say the driver ran a stop sign then hit the building. investigators say he was not the crash. now people in that retirement home are remembering the man who was killed. >> it was a shock, we all got up this morning and we all had notes under our door that an accident had occurred during the night. the shock is you could be laying in your bed and all at once something happens it's catastrophic. ben: that neighbor says the man lived in a memory care unit. two other residents were affected by the crash, they have been moved to other rooms. pennsylvania. a man there found an urn full of ashes on his front porch. the gold box was labeled with the name john hardison and came with a note. it reads, michelle and dread, your better half remains. that doesn't make any sense to the homeowner. he says he's baffled by the ashes and the local coroner is puzzled too. ben: a new uber service in texas, mobile flu shots. the company offered free flu shots to customers in houston. registered nurse to administer the shots. 16 other major cities took part in the health promotion. uber said on twitter that there was a big demand for the new feature. that is neat. >> a little girl puts counties in a toy dispenser and got a plastic capsule filled with drugs to treat going up... that's a look at the morning commute, back to you. information about a fatal accident at a theme park in australia. wisn 12 news' tim elliott is following the latest details in the newsroom. tim? tim: police in australia say two young children were involved in the same accident that killed four adults. officials say it's a miracle the children survived. the two women killed were their mothers. two men also died in the accident at dreamworld. officials say the water ride was ending when two rafts collided. one flipped over, some conveyor belt, others were trapped underneath
