right now you are seeing everybody leaving the park. it looks like they will be walking across the street there doing some sort of march across downtown. many people say this is just the start of many protests. they want this to be peaceful, and so far it seems like everybody is abiding by that. we will give you live updates as we go across milwaukee. joyce: pro popping up all across the u.s. since donald trump was elected president. you're looking at video of rallies held in chicago, new york, oakland and los angeles just in the past 24 hours. officials say dozens of people have been arrested. the federal aviation administration has imposed flight restrictions around trump tower in new york. secret service agents are also guarding out front. kathy: local latino students say they've been targeted in wake of donald trumps win. now some marquette high school students are facing discipline. nick, the administration says they have zero tolerance for the behavior they've seen. >> right. the principle here met individually with each of the classes telling them they're , allowed to have different views but the comments and , actions of a some students in the wake of the election went way too far. >> i am going to create a new special deportation task force. >> a theme of donald trump's campaign echoed in the halls marquette university high school the day after he was elected. latino students reported some classmates bullied them with comments such as i'll see you in mexico, and are you packing yet? >> it was heartbreaking and devastating. >> and senior victor cardenas tells me there were trump stickers everywhere. >> they were being slapped on people's backs, backpacks, peoples for heads. ok, we got it. personal. >> we took it personal. this is something serious. with people making jokes about deportations, seeing you in mexico, visiting you, you should be worried about your parents -- that is not ok. >> that is not representative of who we are. >> the principal says they're embarrassed by the behavior of a few students, saying their student body is ethnically and socioeconomically diverse. >> marquette high is that catholic jesuit school. we stand for every student being treated with dignity and respect, and clearly that was not representative of who we are. >> the parents i spoke with say they are pleased the students involved are being disciplined , although they wanted that discipline released publicly. the school is not doing that, only saying that those students says the incidents at marquette high are hardly isolated. lulac says they've taken calls from latino parents all over the state reporting their children , have been subjected to bullying in the wake of trump's win. >> we can't wait until donald trump builds the wall and all those types of things, so i am very concerned, and given how are terrified this could ask escalate into something very ugly. kathy: lulac is asking teachers to be especially on guard for anti-latino bullying, and to be sensitive that many latino children are feeling vulnerable. joyce: as for the president-elect, donald trump spent his first day in washington d.c. since the election. trump and vice president-elect mike pence met with house speaker paul ryan on capitol hill. the wisconsin congressman called the meeting fantastic and productive. had one of the most impressive victories we have ever seen, and we will turn that victory into progress for the american people. joyce: after the meeting, ryan took trump, pence, and soon to be first lady melania trump out onto his balcony overlooking the washington mall. ryan pointed out where the inaugural platform is already being built. president-elect trump's first stop was at the white house. he met with president obama in the oval office as part of the transfer of power process. the two talked for an hour and a half. despite the men trading attacks on the campaign trail, the tone toda >> we now are going to want to do was a great honor being with you and i look forward to being with you many, many more times. joyce: this was the first time boulder rolls onto i-94, smashing into a car. it happened in the zoo interchange, right where all the construction is going on. wisn 12 news terry sater is live. terry, you talked to a witness. >> thankfully no one got hurt. the boulder rolled onto the interstate right behind me and a , witness tells me that considering it was rush hour, it could have been a lot worse. cars on the shoulder and what looks like a construction worker standing there. the left lane is blocked east bound. >> 12 news' matt salemme first reported on the wayward boulder from newschopper 12. you can see the crunched driver side left front fender of a white mazda suv. the department of transportation says the boulder rolled onto east bound 94 in the zoo interchange from a construction zone just before 9:00 this morning. >> i look up ahead of me and i see this big boulder this big he nearly got caught up in the mess. >> about two cars in front of me an suv hit the rock. >> then two cars behind the suv collided. >> you know it came up to the side of my door. and i'm thinking oh my god, i'm thinking what happened? did somebody drop this? >> you can see in our video a power shovel loading boulders onto a dumptruck. the department of transportation is still investigating what went wrong. >> pretty much most of my life and , this construction is the worst that i've ever seen it. >> the department of transportation says the driver of the suv will be fully compensated for the damage done to her vehicle either through their insurance or that of the contractor. reporting live in milwaukee, terry sater, wisn 12 news. joyce: we're learning more tonight about a woman killed on the freeway this morning. sheriff's officials say witnesses report seeing the woman run out in front of oncoming traffic on i-94 near college avenue. a semi hit the woman, and she died at the scene. investigated. police arrested the accused driver in the hit and run crash that killed a five-year-old milwaukee girl. rickyia langham was struck near hampton and leon terrace on sunday on her way to church. police say the driver is a 30-year-old man, but will say nothing else except their investigation continues. whitefish bay police are searching for a driver who led them on a chase in a stolen car. the chase ended near 76th and good hope road where the driver , bailed and took off running. milwaukee police brought out their k-9 unit but t we're told the car was initally stolen from west allis. milwaukee police need your help tracking down two men involved in an armed robbery. here are pictures of the suspects. police say the men robbed a man near fond du lac and bourbon after forcing their way into his apartment last saturday. both suspects are in their 20's. kathy: a milwaukee mom wants to care for her premature son the way she sees fit, but the state is fighting her. wisn 12 10:00. joyce: 12, workers will be making more money. milwaukee county executive chris abele signed the living wage ordinance passed by the county board last week. here is a breakdown of the plan. a $12.35 wage will take effect starting on then, it would go to january 1. $13 an hour in january of 2018. and then it will increase in various increments each year until it reaches an hour in $15 january of 2021. >> a $15 wage is going to make an impact for a lot of people and for those of you that say and for those of you that say, this is a going to impact me i'd , say you know a lot of people who it will impact. joyce: this change only applies to certain workers, including county employees and contractors. we want to check back in on that anti-trump protest in milwaukee. >> the crowd has quickly swelled, 400 or a little more than that. they marched from red arrow the intersection of wisconsin and water. there are still a couple hundred more trailing in. milwaukee police department warn motorists to be aware of street closers, and now water street is shut down from michigan to kilborn, so be prepared for that. we will let you know if anything changes. back to you. right now, hundreds of people marching off of water street eaun milwaukee police say expect road closures through the downtown area as this march works its way through downtown, and right now wisconsin avenue and water street are blocked. christina palladino is down in the crowd. >> that's right. we are on the wisconsin avenue bridge. as you can see, people walking over the bridge right now. they have tied up traffic for a couple of motorists, but for the most part, police well aware they were going to be down here tonight, so they have made way for them to protest. for the most part, it has been peaceful. obviously people not happy about his election, and that is why they are here, young and old, families, all down here right now. kathy: thanks a lot. we will get back to you county's adoption day. hillary mintz was in children's court for all of the celebrations. >> even on the happiest of days, one-year-olds will be one-year-olds. everyone else in court all about to get their forever family with the maikowskis. the boys have been with foster parents meg and matt since may. 12 news spent time with them at their home in richfield last week but today is the day meg , and matt officially become mom and dad. and their two girls, big sisters to these two little guys. >> i am pleased to announce that the petitions for adoption are hereby granted. congratulations. >> of course no adoption is le >> just like that. good job. >> for mom meg, who was adopted herself, it's all come full circle. >> when it happened, it was like yes, this is meant to be. >> a family of that's an amazing start. temperatures continue to be way above average, and there is a cold frontth mild for some time to calm. third record this month after hitting a high of 66. this is the warmest start in november for the first 10 days we have ever had, temperatures running 12 degrees above normal for the month. that is a lot when it comes to 10 days of a month. 62 right now, clear skies, dew points low, dry air. that is why the cold front comes happens except temperatures cool off. it is dark outside. the average high as 49 degrees, 13 about that, and it is still quite comfortable out there. it is breezy. there is a cold front in here. it's hard to find because everything is still warm. there is no colbert this will bring in. where is the cold air going to come from for us? as the winds go to to the northeast, that will happen tomorrow. 66 today. tomorrow, it will feel cold. at 51 tomorrow, wait until saturday morning. this will be chilly stuff, 34 degrees in milwaukee. it will middle of the street here. police are doing a good job keeping everybody moving. obviously they are interrupting traffic, but for the most part excuse me. would you tell us why you showed up today? >> i don't want to talk. >> there are many reasons why they are here, frustrated with donald trump, moms, dads, elderly people, just people who want to have their voices heard. kathy: badger basketball season tips off tomorrow night. stephanie: yes, they do. why the starting five may not ? stephanie: it's not looking good the packers star linebacker did not practice again today in green bay because of his hamstring injury. however, running back james starks and tight end jared cook returned to the practice field. starks has been sidelined with a knee injury since early october. cook has been out more than a month with a high ankle sprain. head coach mike mccarthy said today he's preparing to use as many as 21 different personnel groupings on offense this sunday in tennessee. of the starters every block or so. again, a peaceful protest. people are upset with the election of donald trump. we have noticed in the last couple of minutes that some businesses have shut their doors and locked up, concerned in case anything violent happens. opinion over the election of donald trump. it looks like we are on the move again, still heading west on wisconsin. not sure what the end game is. there has been talk of walking all over downtown and letting their voices be heard, but again, mothers, fathers, young people, hundreds of people here. we will keep you updated on what happens next. joyce:
