place bar. we know the medical examiner's office was here around 2:00 p.m. most of the information i have been able to gather is coming from people who identified themselves as relatives of the victim. they told me the owner, michael patton, was shot and killed. >> i'm not going to tell you no tale, he's a sweet guy. i knew him from a baby up to now. he's just a real sweet guy, always helping out the community and doing what he could for people. mike: an adult male was discovered inside and pronounced dead at the scene. police tell us they continue to search for a motive and a suspect or suspects. reporting live tonight, mike anderson, wisn 12 news. milwaukee police were called to another homicide. this is video of the scene near 24th and auer. police say a man was shot and killed during a fight with another man. the victim's name has not yet been released. police are searching for the gunman. patrick: police are looking for the driver who stole a car with a baby inside, sparking an amber alert last night. police say one-year-old taratino carter was in the backseat of his mother's suv last night, when it was stolen from a gas station near 60th and good hope. police say the mom left her son spotted the suv near 39th and silver spring and called police. officers found the boy in his car seat. he was not hurt. toya: waukesha police have arrested an 11-year-old boy in the creepy clown threats at an elementary school. 12 news joyce garbaciak is live in the newsroom. joyce, police say the boy was sending threatening video messages on an app used in school. joyce: police say the 11-year-old admitted investigators say they tracked down the i.p. address the child was using to send the threats to students at hawthorne elementary last week. the video messages stated a clown was going to get the children. police say the 11-year-old suspect was using the musical.ly app on a school issued ipad, which was also seized. >> he believed he was going to scare a couple friends at his old school, can this whole creepy clown thing got out of hand. joyce: police say the boy will not be charged because he is too young. police and the school are urging parents to increase their oversight of their children's patrick: thank you. the state corrections officer charged with shooting a woman outside a milwaukee nightclub makes her first court appearance. 22-year-old lillie jones waived her right to a preliminary hearing and will go to trial for the shooting. jones pleaded not guilty. according to court records, last week jones got into an argument at onyx nightclub near 31st and villard. police say jones later shot the woman outside the club. at last check, the victim was in critical condition. jones works at taycheedah correctional institution in fond du lac. happening now, the search is on for an escaped inmate. the racine county sheriff's department says 30-year-old thomas clodfelter walked away from a work release site last night. he was an inmate at the sturtevant transitional facility, serving time for burglary. if you see him, call police. toya: now to the race for the white house. hillary clinton and donald trump hit the campaign a new american academy of pediatrics report. doctors say infants should sleep in the same room as their the report found doing so can cut the risk of sudden infant death syndrome, or sids, by as much as 50%. the reasons behind the protective effect in room-sharing aren't fully yet understood. researchers recommend children sleep on their backs in a crib or bassinet, but never on a soft surface, they traveled to the big apple to see gma live in times square. patrick: i was there a decade ago doing a similar story. you don't realize how much movement there is, behind the scenes they take the superheroes for the number one spot. that's followed by animals, a batman character or someone from star wars. the survey found batman characters are also number one for millenials. experts say that's because of the movie, the suicide squad. for adults, 35 years or older, witch costumes took the number rounding out the top 5 are a pirate, a political theme like hillary clinton or donald trump, a vampire and a batman character. toya: file this under, who'd thought? dorothy's ruby slippers have been saved. the smithsonian institute asked for $300,000 to help preserve the famous shoes worn by judy garland in "the wizard of oz." through a kickstarter campaign, the smithsonian reached its goal the donations will pay for conservation work and a climate-controlled case for the shoes. several pairs of ruby slippers were made for filming, four pairs still exist. patrick: eight decades old, those shoes. toya: hot glue gun, give me a few hours.
