Ray once you get the conviction, once the appeal is done and the time limits have run, thats it. The system doesnt work to try to reopen something. And the standard in the law is for newlydiscovered evidence, its got to be something that was not known at the time. The time. This made my day. Theres Nothing Better than to have justice done, and especially, a wrong that is righted now. Kent now, he doesnt say whether he thinks holloways original lawyers made any mistakes. Only that the advancements in dna testing made this possible. Joyce so, the dna evidence cleared holloway. Doesnt implicate anyone else. So, that begs the question, are investigation . Which is 24 years old . Kent we had the same question. We have reached out to Milwaukee Police this afternoon. We are waiting to hear back whats next in this case. Joyce thanks, kent. Here is a little more background on the wisconsin innocence project. It was founded in 1998. Since its inception, the lawyers and uw law students affiliated with it have received 7000 requests for help from prisoners. 23 prisoners have been freed as a result of their help, including holloway. Their most infamous client, steven avery, freed in 2003, for a rape he didnt commit. In 2007. And is currently serving a life sentence for that. Alonzo sandoval and another man each pled guilty to giving false statements to a dealer while purchasing a pistol that was used in the shooting of an officer this summer. The officer survived. Mark hurricane warnings are out miami all the way to cape canaveral. This hurricane will be right along the coast. Something we will be watching this evening. We do have hurricane warnings again, as i mentioned, watches to the north of that. Here is where it is now, a powerful storm, weakening a touch. Most of the models coming to consensus, bringing this right along the coastline of florida. And you can see it strengthened closer to the bahamas, northern bahamas. By the afternoon, closing in on florida by friday. And moving up the coast, wind possibly up to 130 miles per hour. That clearly is going to cause some issues. Now, tonight, researchers at madison are helping to track the storm. Theyre using a drum called a drone called global hawk. Wisn 12 news meteorlogist the researchers behind the project. Lindsay its hit haiti, cuba, the bahamas, and now, heading to florida. Every update vital, about where the storm is heading and its intensity. Derrick herndon is one of the Research Specialists for global hawk, a drone used to study the hurricane. Thats currently flying north of the storm. Derrick were providing global hawk with tracks, basically , telling the global hawk where it should fly. What parts of the atmosphere, and where is the most interesting areas, that are storm and changes in intensity. Lindsay global hawk can spend longer times in the storm than a traditional hurricane hunter. It can also fly higher. Sometimes, up to 60,000 feet, collecting much better data. Do you guys usually throw out those kinds of anomalies, before you get back some of the data from global hawk . Derrick absolutely. And thats exactly why we are flying this aircraft, and flying the other aircraft noaa is flying, into this storm. It is trying to understand the environment around matthew, and gather as much possible data as to try and nail down that forecast. A pewaukee native is found dead, after a hike in alaska. 37yearold Michael Hanson disappeared a week ago monday, while hiking near his home in sitka, alaska. His body was found friday. Investigators believe he tripped and fell, while hiking offtrail. A Memorial Service will be held this weekend, in pewaukee. A unique Memorial Service for a little boy iut to remember sixyearold jacob hall. He was shot and killed, when a 14yearold boy opened fire on his school last week. Its not clear yet if the gunman will be charged as an adult. Joyce a plane evacuated in louisville, after a phone catches fire. The fire was bad enough to singe the carpet on the southwest plane, but caused no other damage. The incident took place before the flight was set to leave for baltimore. No one was hurt.
