presidential candidate jill stein officially requested the recount, with the wisconsin elections board. she is questioning if voting machines in wisconsin and two other states may have been hacked. yesterday, former democratic presidential candidate hillary clinton's campaign joined that recount effort. but president elect donald trump is calling the effort a scam. terry sater is following developments. terry, the next step toward a recount is just hours away. reporter: this is a process and tomorrow morning the wisconsin elections commission will meet in madison to set a timetable for when the recount will start here in milwaukee county and across the state. the counting is expected to start thursday. >> we may do a hand count of the ballots. or we might run them through the machines. reporter: racine county clerk wendy christensen has supervised three election recounts, two in >> ultimately it didn't change the outcome of the election. it did change the numbers by a bit. reporter: under wisconsin law, the recount is allowed and the state is working under a federal deadline of december 13 to get it done. >> and it's going to take us the full 12 days that we'll get to conduct this. reporter: that means in racine and in wisconsin's 71 other counties they'll likely be working through the weekends to complete the recount. christensen has already been preparing over the holiday. >> i don't normally go shopping on black friday so that was ok. reporter: one reason fo recount there have been questions raised over the accuracy of voting machines used by some counties and whether they could be hacked. >> i'm not exactly sure what they're basing their request on. because we're not aware of any anomalies or anything improper that happened. reporter: the state says an audit of voting equipment is underway. and each county's boards of canvassers will examine other documents, including poll lists, written absentee applications, rejected absentee ballots, and provisional ballots before counting the votes. that it's the winning candidate that's going to lose a vote. the losing candidates can also lose votes. reporter: the election may not be complete even after the recount. the state elections commission says if the candidates disagree with the results the law gives them the right to appeal in circuit court. live in milwaukee, terry sater. adrienne: interviewing tomorrow. a local hospital was briefly on lockdown earlier this evening. here's what we know, police arrived to a scene near west allis memorial hospital looking for a person who was armed and possibly suicidal. the hospital was locked down, as a precaution. police found the person dead, a short time later. we don't know how the person died. milwaukee police are asking your help to identify a sexual assault suspect. walking down the street in this video. police tell us the assault happened near 17th and state, just before 11:30 last night. the man had a handgun. and was possibly wearing shoes like these. if you know who he is, contact milwaukee police. the family of a father and daughter killed in a car crash this weekend, is thanking those 39-year-old kevin dalley and his 9-year-old daughter emily died friday night in caledonia when a suspected drunk driver hit their car. the dalley's were turning on their street when it happened. today the family released this statement, we wish to express our gratitude to the individuals that stopped to help at the scene of the accident, the first responders from caledonia and surrounding areas, and the doctors and nurses at wheaton franciscan all saints hospital. we recognize that this tragedy we are grateful for all of the love and support we have received in these trying times. the waukesha county fire department is working to find out what started a fire in genesee. the owner was working inside the garage when he heard a pop sound. he saw fire and called 911. unfortunately his dog was trapped inside, and died. that is just the heaviest amount. the rain has already been falling for a lot of folks out there. this will be a continuing trend as we head into the next few hours. we have seen some decent accumulation. rain already at an inch. that is not where it stops. from now through tuesday morning, some areas will get these oranges and reds, we could see about a half an inch to an inch. that is all because of this area of low pressure. this one just wants to park. it will sit here for a few days. there is some wonky weather because of that. this is round one of rain. we are going to see round to as little bit. there is that heavy rain i was talking about. just some cloud cover. deftly going to be tracking some fog at this point. we are going to see some on and off showers. this of the continuing to the afternoon. that will be all the way through your early tuesday. as a zoom the map out, you're probably seeing the loaded not move a whole lot. wednesday we could see an afternoon shower. and finally leaves as we head into thursday. as it does, it brings in some cold air. that could bring a rain snow mix. not expecting any sort of accumulation. that is something we need to keep
