It turns out that we were two young women, the same age, 25 at the time, groep five miles , never knew each other in life. Jessica was living in new york at the time and offered to help search for andrea in the weeks following 9 11. She has since become very close to andreas family. This is her stat sheet hereand this is actually 15yearsold and i printed out copies of this stat sheet. Tragically, andrea and thousands never found alive. In greenfield, the Fire Department placed 2,977 flags outside its fire station each , flag representing a life lost from the terror attacks. Governor scott walker ordered all flags in wisconsin to fly halfstaff on sunday in memory of the victims. A spokesperson tells us its this week, milwaukee mayor tom barrett recommended that People Living in homes built before 1951 install water filters on their faucets. About 70,000 homes get water from mains through lead pipes. That lead can corrode and seep into the water. The district said in a statement, the safety of our students and staff is our top priority. That is why we made the decision to voluntarily test. It goes on to say, we believe its the right thing to do to reassure our families and staff. Were following breaking news, a tornado outbreak just to our south. Four confirmed tornadoes touched down in rural parts of central illinois. One of them was in a small town named homer just southeast of champaign. The twister was on the ground for 17 minutes leveling at least , one farm. No injuries have been reported. Murder conviction. The state is appealing the recent decision that overturned Brendan Dassey conviction in the murder of Teresa Halbach. This is the case at the center of the hit docuseries making a murderer. Last month, a federal judge ruled that dasseys confession was coerced. In that confession, he admitted to helping his uncle, steven avery, sexually assault and kill halbach. Dassey was ordered released from prison within 90 days unless the state filed todays appeal. Theres no date set for the next court proceeding. In a statement, attorney general brad schimel said, we believe the magistrate judges decision that Brendan Dasseys confession was coerced by investigators is wrong on the facts and wrong on the law. Wisn 12 news spoke with dasseys attorney by phone. Bob dvorak tells us hes disappointed, but not surprised. He said, judge duffin wrote a thoughtful opinion that we are prepared to defend. The case started in 2005, when Teresa Halbach disappeared. She was last seen on the avery salvage yard. She has been hired to take pictures for auto trader dasseys uncle, steven avery, was soon charged with her murder. The trial took weeks. A jury found avery guilty of murder in march of 2007. He is serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole. The next month, dassey was convicted of helping avery commit the crime.
