sheldon: we are to follow breaking news tonight. an abducted one-year-old baby is found safe. adrienne: 12 news' terry sater joins us live from 59th and good hope, where the baby was taken. so grateful that is good news, terry. terry: adrienne, a very happy ending out here. one-year-old taratino carter was found about four miles from here in the mother's stolen and abandoned car. police say this all started earlier tonight when the mother had her son in a car seat in the backseat and stopped at the a&s gas and convenience store and that's when someone hopped in and drove off with her baby in the backseat shortly before 6:00. she called for help and police issued an amber alert. roughly two and a half hours later a caller had found the baby and car. the grandmother says her daughter was visiting from wisconsin rapids. >> she's from a very small laid back community and is not accustomed to the crime we have in milwaukee and her guard was down. us out in this situation. from the amber alert, a citizen went out and noticed the car was parked in an unusual manner, was still running and the lights were on. and proceeded to call the police department. and we sent squads over. sheldon: terry: -- police are -- this is the neighborhood where he was found. he was reunited with his mother. police are warning drivers running while the weather is cold. don't go inside a store. don't go inside a convenience store like this with your car running because it is a prime target for thieves and that's what happened and i. terry sater, wisn 12 news. adrienne: great reminder for us all. thank you, terry. a big boost for hillary clinton in the race for the white house. a new poll shows the democratic nominee getting a bump heading into the final days of the campaign. sheldon: and donald trump is facing some challenging new numbers. abc's mary bruce is in washington. mary: hillary clinton took her message to church sunday. ms. clinton: i won't tell you who to vote for. right, thanks. a financial mixup causing frustration and fury among american soldiers and their abc's eva pilgrim shows us, the government wants them to give their business -- their bonus pay back. eva: thousands of soldiers tonight fighting a new battle against the military they once proudly served. >> i had done everything they have asked of me. these were promises that were made. >> it's caused a lot of stress and anxiety on my entire family. >> it was a slap in the face. eva: during the height of the wars in iraq and afghanistan the national guard offer bonuses. but then we'd be breaking the law. eva: the bonuses were supposed to go to soldiers with skills in high demand. but the pentagon says it paid out bonuses to guardsmen in all 50 states who never should have qualified for the extra cash. california alone the national , guard now going after 9,700 current and retired guardsmen , $22 million already recouped. >> month after month we were eva: chris van meter, a purple heart recipient, survived a roadside bomb in iraq now forced to refinance his home to repay $46,000 in bonuses. >> you still have thousands of soldiers having to pay this money back. eva: but battlegrounds for a reason. they help determine the electoral college on election night and i think the fact that you point out that wisconsin didn't necessarily pick trump or pick clinton is sort of
