Us now live from ames with an iowa state patrol who says Road Conditions there in the past few weeks are some of the a busy morning for Des Moines Police as they dealt with two overnight chases. The first started around 130 on the citys east side. And led officers on a chase at interstate at one point. The driver eventually crashed at east 21st and university. Just minutes later. Officers responded to another chase. This one started on 24th. The driver eventually got out of their car and started running. Officers caught up to suspect just a short while later in a garage in the 2400 block of prospect. That person is now in custody. We now know the three Metro Police Officers involved in a deadly weekend shooting. Urbandale police say theyve placed jeff casey, anthony brooks, and justice weaver on paid administrative leave. Which is standard procedure. Their years of service range from 1 to 20 years of service. Investigators say the man who died from his injuries sustained in the shooting is 29yearold ali yahia, of des moines. The incident happened Early Saturday Morning at the holiday inn on merle hay road. Police say the three officers were responding to a drug complaint, when a fight broke out in the thats when officers say yahia started firing a gun. Police returned fire. Hitting and killing him. Urbandale police, the Polk County Attorneys Office and the iowa dci are now investigating. Police are also investigating an apparent shootout in eagle grove it happened in front of this Apartment Building around eight pm valentines day. Police say two people suffered gun shot wounds. One theyre calling the victim. The other the suspect. Investigators are not saying if the two shot each other. Or if one shot the other and himself. Police say neither person is from eagle grove.
