"i can't believe i ever fit in those. and they were tight." that was when she weighed 290 pounds, despite trying to lose. "i had tried the horrible diet pills, personal trainers." i had a problem where i would just go to the gym, be upset didn't work out and go home and eat a bunch of food." in 2013, she decided to make a change. she had weight loss surgery called a gastric sleeve. "we didn't know until recently that your stomach makes a lot of hormones that can control your appetite, so when we use this surgery, we remove 70 percent of their stomach, we really drop their hormone levels and they're just much less hungry."dr. todd eibes with iowa weight loss specialists says it's a tool to help you control your appetite. anyone 100 pounds overweight or 40 qualifies. you could also get the surgery if you have certain health conditions like high blood pressure and high cholesterol and have 75 to 100 pounds to lose. "with surgery, our average weight loss is 65% and 90% of our patients are going to lose at least half their weight." "we want you to have a good time but we will not tolerate violence." the weather this season has been cool and rainy. not perfect but not enough to affect any of the scheduled events. a little rain on these parades not even slowing the celebrations. in new orleans, sarah dallof nbc all of this adds up to big bucks...an estimated 8 hundred and 40-million dollars into the local economy. a reason for businesses to rejoice...once the mardi gras madness is over. stick around, drones are becoming popular.. especially in agriculture.. david geiger has the details on prescription based agriculture.. up next on the agribusiness geiger. there are now around three hundred thousand drones registered to the federal aviation administration... drones are seeing strides forward in use after registration was opened at the end of last year.. in agriculture.. they are a new tool in a large tool box for conservation.. particularly in using information with other precision ag machines. many drones in ag are looking towards mapping as the next best way to be more precise. aaron sheller.. owner of precision drone.. says taking pictures from the sky becomes his roadmap for conserving his resources. he calls it a prescription based approach.. when he can see crop health problems in pictures. "once i have that, i can load it into a google based viewer, iphone or ipad, walk out through google earth, drop pins, label those problems, bring that back to my office, make a prescription based solution. so i'm only applying those chemicals where they need to be. i'm only applying the fertilizer where it needs to be. i'm only applying that pesticide where it needs to be in the field." sheller says on his farm, he can pay for a drone in 250 acres of work with correct use.. he says on other farms.. he's seen returns of 20 dollars an acre.. to 75 dollars an acre with full management. he says growers are used to drones give in-season maps to use.. "how can you not think that this is the future. because ultimately we have to feed the world. and without negatively impacting the environment and zone being where it's at and everyone continually scrutinizing us as farmers about how much nutrients very vital and very important that we put those nutrients exactly where they need to be so the crop can uptake it and sheller says he's excited that there's more interest on the federal level in getting drones to growers.. but they would like to see more clarification and ease of entry for new drone operators. there's more information on how to use drones in ag on sheller's website.. precision drones dot com. a new production report is out today from the u-s-d-a.. but it doesn't look like a market mover.. i spoke with analyst brian roach.. and the answer has to do.. with south america.. pork exports were solid in the the u-s meat export federation.. u-s-d-a numbers says beef exports posted the first full-year value decline since 2009.. 2015 beef exports were around one million metric tons.. down 11 percent from 2014. pork exports still dropped a bit.. by and that's all we have for the show today.. thanks for joining us on the ag report.. i'll see you again next time. we put stories up every day.. check out who-tv dot com..
