Officers were called to the early man started fighting with an urbandale officer. Then fired at officers. An officer returned fire. Police said that suspect was 29year old ali yahia three officers were also named in the officer involved shooting. They are Sergeant Jeff casey, officer anthony brooks, and officer justice weaver. Sergeant casey has 20years of service under his belt. Officer brooks has been on the force for two and a half years. Officer weaver has one year of service. All three are on administrative leave. Two people were rushed to the hospital, after a shooting in the middle of a street in eagle grove. It happened last night in the 100 block of north lucas avenue. Police were called on a report of a man being shot. They found two people with gunshot wounds. Both the victim and suspect were taken to hospitals in des moines. Police are witholding their names and conditions. Dci is now assisting the Eagle Grove Police department in the investigation. Well hear more from authorities coming up at five. A bus driver accused of hitting and killing an iowa state freshman, pleaded not guilty today. 23 year old Benjamin Clague is jacobs near the iowa state campus last december. Today he submitted a written arraignment and plead not guilty Ames Police Say clague hit jacobs as she was crossing lincoln way last december. Jacobs later died in the Hospital Police arrested clague about a month later. They say Surveillance Video from inside the bus shows that clauge knew he hit jacobs, but didnt stop to help her. If convicted, clague will face five years in prison. A semi driver was killed in a crash along interstate 35 this morning. It happened at around four. The semi jackknifed just south of cumming. The iowa state patrol is still investigating the cause. Crews closed down north bound lanes for nearly three hours to clean up the debris. This is the same area where a semi driver lost control and rolled his rig back on december 10th. State troopers say 25yearold jacob shivers of missouri lost control in a construction zone. When they arrived, they found two people with gun shot wounds. Jannay towne joins us with more on the investigation. First on 13. The names of the men involved in the shooting are not being released. Police and the dci say theyre still trying to sort out what happened last there are two gun shot victims.
