'here recently information was brought forward that alleged the fire was started intentionally by the individuals that were involved in physical altercation at the residence.' authorities say previous interviews from 2006 reported yenger got into a fight with another party goer and was asked to leave the party. both yenger and dye are being held in the wapello county jail on a 500-thousand dollar bond each. des moines police aren't saying much about the investigation into the city's first homicide of the year. police found 71-year-old norma jean mcneeley dead inside her home on morning. detectives are not releasing the cause of death or a possible motive... but they have said it does not appear anything was taken from the home. investigators say a dart bus driver may have suffered from a medical condition prior to slamming into a des moines home last night. the bus went off the road near east douglas and cambridge street... and tore through the living room of the home. one person was home at the time... but was not injured. the driver and a passenger on the bus were treated for non-life- threatening injures. the accident remains under investigation. now to the presidential race here in iowa ... and a new poll from channel 13 and iowa state university. the poll conducted by iowa state's political science chair earlier this month shows the same picture as most every other poll of iowa democrats. hillary clinton is barely edging bernie sanders ... however that margin is within the margin of error. that means its a toss up with just six days until iowa votes. on the republican side the poll finds things aren't as close. ted cruz has nearly a seven-point lead over donald margin of error. ben carson edges marco rubio for third place. rand paul is steady in fifth place. there was more to this poll than just candidate preferences. coming up tonight at five o-clock ... jannay towne will take us further inside the numbers and show us what issues iowans are most concerned about as they head to caucus sites. tonight donald trump returns to iowa. at five o-clock tonight he'll hold a rally in marshalltown where he's promising a major endorsement for his campaign. the crowd could be in for some fiery rhetoric from trump if he follows up where he left off in an interview this morning. speaking to msnbc's "morning joe" trump called ted cruz a liar and a jerk. he says no one in the u-s senate likes cruz ... republican or democrat ... and that he'll be a better leader because people will listen to him. ted cruz says he's going to ignore the attacks on him and he won't return fire as we near the iowa caucuses. this morning he was joined by a former rival from his home state on the campaign trail in osceola. 'this may be one of the great listeners that ive ever been around in my entire a gift. he wasnt just being quiet because i was doing all the talking, but he was processing and what i have discovered is that this is an individual will not only listen to me, he will listen to you. ted cruz's morning stop in osceola was inside a chilly cattle show barn. rick perry joined the campaign king. ruz told the group they will being pro-life and fixing the debt, but he claims he is the one who has actually acted. and who will do what is needed.. to identify our enemies to defeat our animies and keep america safe. and the question for us to ask as voters is what is the record on stopping up and led and said no to this catastrophic iranian deal. who has stood up isis to defeat radical islamic terrorism to call our enemy by its name. it's been a busy day for cruz and it will be a long night. he still has campaign stops scheduled in ottumwa, fairfield and keosauqua this evening. many were outraged last summer when anti-abortion activists released videos... that they said showed planned parenthood negotiating to sell fetal body parts. now... criminal charges have been filed... but not against planned parenthood. the videos were produced by a group called "the center for medical progress." in them... two actors met with a planned parenthood official to discuss obtaining donated fetal tissue. the actors negotiated a price for the transport of the tissue. the activist group says that is tantamount to selling the tissue. congress and more than a dozen states investigated that claim ... but no one found any evidence of wrongdoing by planned parenthood. texas indicted the actors in the video. the grand jury found both actors used fake drivers licenses as part of their ruse. one of the actors is also being charged for attempting to purchase fetal tissue. planned parenthood hopes the grand jury decision finally absolves the family planning organization of any wrongdoing. "planned parenthood has never sold fetal tissue. we've occasionally let women donate fetal tissue for important medical research and that's now been proven out -- not only by this grand jury but officials in 11 other states that looked at this that all found that planned parenthood did nothing wrong. and that's consistent with our 99-year history as a high-quality, well-known health care provider for women in this country." to avoid any implications of impropriety, planned parenthood no longer charges any fees for the transfer of donated tissue. democrats at the statehouse have released their budget outline and it's smaller than governor branstad's plan. the plan from senate democrats would spend seven-point-four- billion-dollars. that's slightly less than what governor branstad has proposed spending. the plan includes a four-percent increase in funding for iowa schools. yesterday house republicans approved just two-percent increase in school funding. house republicans haven't released their full budget target plan yet. after dominating the basketball court all week, iowa state's monte morris has been named the national player of the week. morris sealed the deal last night with his performance against kansas at hilton coliseum. morris scored 21 points as the cyclones beat the rival jayhawks ... again. the road doesn't get any easier for the cyclones this week. on saturday they travel to texas a- and-m ... the number five team in the nation. it appears a university of iowa fan has been playing an elaborate prank on the citizens of niagara falls, new york. the niagara gazzette reported this week that for the last six months the university of iowa fight song has been pouring out of an building. every night from four to eleven ... a recording of the song plays on repeat from inside the building. no one is sure where in the building it is coming from. however complaints are mounting from neighbors tired of hearing the song 500 times every night. a group of eastern iowa teens will have to spend some time after class next week. but its not detention ... coming up next ... find out why their teacher says iowa caucus participation is mandatory. this week the presidential campaigns have a two-fold congress doesn't regulate wall street... wall street regulates congress. most new wealth to the top 1%. and it's held in place by a corrupt political system where wall street banks and billionaires buy elections. my campaign is funded by over two and a half million small contributions. people who know you can't level the playing field by taking more money from wall street. i'm bernie sanders, and i approve this message. join the fight to take back our government. in iowa ... get out their message and make sure supporters get out to vote next monday. the turnout in buchanan county will be boosted this year thanks to a homework assignment from a high school teacher. lauren moss tells us why caucus attendance will be mandatory for some teens. nat "can you name some of the people on this side?"
